You might want to rent Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction "for the kids" too, since, despite being one of the best games on the platform, it only got a 7.5 from Gamespot as well.

If I recall, Gamespot also gave Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction a 7.5 for having "an identity crisis" from being too diverse and R&C: Quest for Booty a 7.5 for "sticking too close to the series formula."

I realize SW:TFU isn't getting great reviews from other sites either, but reviewers have certainly led me astray before.

My favorite quote from this review: "Using the Force powers is definitely the highlight of the game." Really? Using the Force in cool ways is the focus of "The Force Unleashed"? I wouldn't have guessed that. Thank goodness there are people whose job it is to tell me these things. Why do I even read game reviews anymore?

I don't own a 360, but I'm still a little annoyed on 360 owners' behalves. Eden Games released a broken game, and to fix it for one system only borders on criminal.

Holy crap, Blackthorne! There was something oddly hilarious about giving a monster behind you a one-armed blast without even turning your head.

I also really enjoyed the Jurassic Park sytle combat shotgun in the original Half-Life.

Shotgun > Headcrab

Great interview. Great game. All that talk about the story makes me want to go back and play it again.

I even gave you an agree. I was referring to decapitations specifically because that's what the reviewer complained about, but you're absolutely right about the cantina scene in Ep. IV. However, I must disagree that the dismemberment code in Jedi Outcast made the game cooler. It just turned stormtroopers into a big pile of arms that had no collision detection.

And as far as being linguistically anal retentive, I'm guilty as charged! In fact, if you want me be to be an even BI...

Another reviewer complaining that he can't take someone's head off with a lightsaber. And we Americans wonder why the rest of the world thinks we're sadistic violence addicts. If I recall, there wasn't a single lightsaber decapitation in the original (good) trilogy, with the exception of Ben Kenobi, who simply vanished when he died. No gouts of blood, no comical head-rolling-down-a-staircase scene afterward. The first true lightsaber decapitation came in Ep. II (Jango Fett), and that movi...

Soooo, you're not going to spend $60 on a game you already own based on a low-res pre-release vid? Pretty sure you weren't going to buy it to begin with, buddy. Thanks for trolling, though.

As a school teacher I always stress that violence is not an option to solve problems. However, what kind of sick f!*k does this to another living thing? Blow up a potato if you need to get your rocks off. Maybe a frying pan is the only way such an idiot will get the message. Bubbles for sticking up for a helpless animal.

Who is trying to bury this game, and why? Can't blame Nintendo, Sony, or MS because it's multiplat.

Now I'm sure TFU won't be the best game ever released, but so far the reviewers seem to be saying, "Meh. Fun but not amazing." Yes. Fun. Seems like a lot of current releases take themselves so seriously in trying to shatter the earth that they forget about the importance of fun in the entertainment industry.

I'm not counting on this game to change gaming...

What is this rubbish that they're supposedly focusing on FFXIII to get it out the door? There's like 25 games on that list, and FFXIII and FFVXIII are STILL video only.

Dude (or lady), I don't mean to tell you how to live your life, but why don't you just sell the game now, while it can still command a good price on eBay, if you hate it that much? There are plenty of other games you might enjoy playing more. Just a thought.

The SE site lists DQIX as video-only for TGS. If the game were coming out in just a few months, you'd think they'd have a playable build. Then again, this is hyper-secretive Square we're talking about.

Excellent comment. I love how there are more and more level headed contributors on this site. Bubbles for you.

Ha ha! Are you disagreeing that I enjoyed the demo or that I will buy the game? I promise that both are true. What the heck...

It seems like a lot of the review snippets complain that TFU only has a single player campaign. No MP at all. I'm glad people like MP games, but as someone who pretty much never games online, I'll be picking this one up. I thought the demo was just plain fun, which is what games are about in my mind. Easy decision.

Been using Chrome since it came out. Love it.

When will we quit being surprised when Eurogamer does comparisons like this? And with this result?

6365d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I've played the heck out of the demo--probably 10 times--and have enjoyed it tremendously every time. I'll be buying this game. Reviews be damned.
