Thanks for clearing that up. +bub
While I agree with this article's premise, the guy should've prepared his argument (and his grammar--hate me if you want, but bad grammar and spelling make people assume bad things about a person's intelligence, even on the internet) better. I know that Insomniac (developer of Resistance 1 & 2) isn't a first-party studio, and I don't think Naughty Dog (Uncharted) is either. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway, it's just a little disappointing that the first response to t...
Well done on buying an amazing game. I've got it for PS2, but I'm sure it's terrific on the Wii too. Hope you enjoy it.
Sheit article. The--ahem--"writer" concludes that the PS3 and 360 versions will look the same. The title is flamebait garbage that contradicts the article's actual content, and the article itself is poorly written tripe. So the arctic setting was one of the first game's "big drawl"? Thanks, gamerblorge.
I've got three answers to the question this article poses, all of which seem to be true:
1) Yes, KZ2 sold (and will continue to sell) a pile of systems.
2) No, KZ2 didn't (and won't) sell as many systems as people wanted it to or thought it might.
3) WHO EFFING CARES? I'M SO SICK OF THIS CRAP.
Out.

I've played through Uncharted twice already and will certainly do so again before Uncharted 2 comes out, but I'm also enjoying the hell out of RE5. It's not a bad game, and I really can't understand why everyone hates it so badly. I'm familiar with the arguments.
- "It doesn't control like Gears or an FPS." Good. It's not Gears or an FPS.
- "It's not scary." I almost whizzed in my pants the first time one of those big dogs in the train yard jumped up...
Dude. While 12.0 made some truly horrible arguments, YOU misspelled "retarded."
Too...much...irony.
Um...what?
Not to mention the fact that Sony got blasted so hard by the fact that they DIDN'T say the original KZ2 trailer was in-game (because it wasn't). Now they're just letting us know what's real and what's a target render. No complaints from me about that.
@3.2
In the interest of fairness, you are correct that cnet isn't owned by MS, it is owned by CBS. And CBS, until a couple years ago, was owned by Viacom
http://www.cbsnews.com/stor...
which has numerous well-known partnerships with Microsoft.
Of course, I also liked the RE5 demo...
@1.0
The retail PC version is the same length--at least as far as I can tell from my copy of it--and it is really fun. But I also can't puzzle out why it's GOTY for so places. Too many other games I've played are just as fun and a whole lot more interesting. Just my opinion.

Anyway, this article does make some good points, but I almost feel like it shouldn't have been written, just because writing it gave some kind of authenticity or acknowledgment to the original (and horrendous) article.
Ironic edit: Uh-oh, does my argument above mean that I shouldn't have acknowledged the poster at 1.6? Well now don't I feel silly.
R is referring to Rockstar, the company behind GTA. Back on topic, I'm sure some PS3 owners will be psyched about getting the DLC on their own console, but does that mean that MS dropped 50mil for a TIMED exclusive? Yow.
Who the hell works in the fields of internet and/or technology and still uses IE? I'm just a regular end-user and I've solely used either Firefox or Chrome for the last several years(obviously Chrome hasn't been out for all of that time). There goes another piece of cnet's dwindling credibility.
edit @ below: Same here. Every once in awhile I have to use Firefox or even the hated IE (for pages that require ActiveX), but Chrome is definitely my first choice. Off-topic, is you...
I usually try to stay out of pointless flamewars, but your post was too much to handle, dude. You could have saved yourself (and us) a lot of trouble and quit after your first comment about controllers.
"Even tho the sixaxis didnt take off it was still used in many games. Now you can no longer get the controller making some games unplayable."
The Dualshock 3 still has Sixaxis functionality. Every game that required Sixaxis, including the infamous Lair, is...
"i thought it was a good read, it should set people straight, but most people wont read this."
Well said. This forum is full of evidence that people read the title and quickly type a comment like "omg re5 is NOT teh racist! disagree!" Oh well. Looking forward to Friday the 13th, and I don't mean the crappy new movie.
We (gamers) might be past this, but plenty of people are not, and frankly I'm thrilled that this article exists. It's not just about RE5, but about contemporary racism itself. What a terrific read. I hope everyone on this site reads the article from start to finish.
"any console making a profit in its first years is overpriced"
I get what you're saying, and there's a certain logic to it. But by real-life business standards, the Wii could cost $2,000, and if people were buying it at the rate they're buying it now, it still wouldn't be overpriced. Any commodity is "worth" whatever people will pay for it. All that to say that even though Nintendo's profit margin is likely a good deal higher than any other console manufact...
