The PS2 won't die until either 1) Sony takes it off the market, or 2) People stop buying them. And if Sony has lost as much money on the PS3 as everyone seems to think they have, why on earth would they dump a system with a profit margin as high as the PS2?
Tell you what, go onto eBay and type in "PS2 games." You'll see just how dead the system isn't.
AND the demo would only have a limited release with the first shipment of FFVII:AC, guaranteeing that they wouldn't even have enough demos to satisfy the Japanese market, let alone the rest of us.
If you remember, there was also talk of charging for the demo later on, though I have a feeling that it would be free on xbox Live. Just a hunch.
Thanks a pile, Squeenix.
FFX was my favorite as well--I've played all of them besides FFII--and for that reason I'm actually hopeful. The game's director said both the people on the team and their mindset for building the game were focused heavily on FFX. Fingers crossed.
Dog named Hail! Bwahahaha! Bubbles for you.
Agree with most of above. After all, the word "News" includes the word "new."
I suppose we can be thankful they didn't say, "Big, MEGATON announcement about FFVII!!"
For the love God, stop announcing bs spinoffs until you finish FFXIII. XOXO
...the end. "There is no passing it up, this is true, I just can't help but hold Insomniac to the highest standard and in the end the only thing keeping Resistance from being a perfect 10 is the sense that it has moved too much toward the expected."
So is he saying that if the game had been developed by the same morons who did "Legendary," he would've given the game a 10? I have no problem with R2 getting a 9--it's a great score for a great game. This is ju...
One of the Mirror's Edge levels you mentioned is really clever. They make the speed run tougher by putting in little ice ramps. Looks great too.
I finally finished story mode last night. I'm working on acing every level to get all of the goodies for building. Damn, LBP is fantastic.
Why did IGN bother to downgrade yet another PS3 score from the 360 score for a terrible game that no one will buy? They might as well have scored them:
"360: 2.5"
"PS3: 2.3 (nyah nyah!)"
@1.0
My thoughts exactly. WHO "hailed" RFOM as the only game worth owning for the first nine months of the PS3's life? Cliffy B? What's-his-face Pachter? The guy who wrote this article? WHO? When did it become okay to try to make something true just by saying out loud or writing it down? Arrgh!
Anyway, the Resistance 2 Beta was a blast. I don't play many shooters, and I almost never play online, but this game made me do both and enjoy it.
You guys all have the right idea, but for anyone who can't see the pattern, or will say that PS3 fans are just crying bitter tears, let me toss in a couple specific examples of what we're all talking about.
Remember the Ratchet & Clank Future:TOD review at Gamespot? It got a 7.5 because it had "so many different, often unnecessary gameplay mechanics that the game lacks an identity."
And then there was the R&C: Quest for Booty review. That game ALS...
I just sold Genji (PS3) on eBay for $4.00. That price at Target is a fleecing! :)
Love the look. Loved the demo. Even loved the battle system (sorry robotnik). I think this game will elbow out Mirror's Edge as the last game I buy in 08. After LBP, of course.
If you hate coming here, then stop coming here. You're not adding much to the conversation at this point.
Not surprising from ScrewAttack, and really not worth reading. Go watch the last few Video Game Vault vids and at least one in three of the videos will have a direct attack (ScrewAttack?) on the PS3, even though the games they're discussing are rarely more recent than the SNES or Genesis. Their jabs are usually pretty quick, but obvious. Leaves me wondering, like many others here, how this tripe got approved.
You're a wiser person than I.
Lair is number TWO?? I know Lair was hyped before it was released, but the general consensus immediately afterward was that it sucked hairy Butters' chinballs.
And Shadowrun? I have been reading gaming sites everyday for several years, and that game only tickles the most distant memory. I wouldn't call that "over-hyping."
Then they had the gall to say that they were "suckered" by the Halo 3 hype machine? They're a gaming site! They fed the hy...
Poor marketing?? That series of ads done up like nature documentaries following Sackboy through his natural habitat is pure genius. Funny, cute, clever, and shows off several important gameplay features and even tactics. And let's not forget painting entire buildings in Germany with Sackboy and other LPB stuff.
I'm sorry folks are so upset about the week delay, but to say that Sony isn't marketing well is an absolute joke.
I'll tell you: reviewers tried to bury this game, but fans bought it anyway and ended up liking it. Whoops!
Now the reviewers' feelings are hurt, so they write pouty articles about what went wrong. It's all a rich tapestry.
First of all, would posters please stop saying "elitist"? All that word proves is that you watch Fox News. This article mostly seems to be a call for awareness that mainstream games are easier than they used to be, which is true. He's not saying that easy games suck, but that hard games DON'T suck just because they're hard. Take Wipeout HD. It's both fantastic and hard. I have already played the hell out of that game even though I'm pretty sure I'll never be good enough to bea...
