How many times do we need to keep seeing the same list of additional features before people start marking these as dupes?

I'm not entirely convinced it's a stab at the RROD, you know. I dunno, I don't know enough about Palin but it seems to me to be a bit of a weak RROD joke, but if she was famous for "quitting" anything, it'd be a pretty good political jab.
Anyone got any sources on this?

Why is it weird? Buy the sequel, get the original free. Lots of games are doing it, including Modern Warfare 2 (COD1 comes with the hardened edition).
Not to mention the fact that Wolfenstein 3D is tied to the new game, allowing you to unlock a bonus in it.

If you don't want a game, don't by it. Like it or not, Halo is popular for a reason and its more than just a name. If you release bad games, people soon stop buying them, but Halo still sells well so it can't be that bad.
So as far as I'm concerned, I don't care if there's 1 Halo game every 10 years or 10 Halo games every 1 year, if they're all decent then bring it. If they're not, I wont buy them. What's the problem?

If your development costs are too high, maybe you should fire whoever it is that can't manage costs. Like ummm...oh I don't know, you?

I'm seriously thinking of boycotting anything from Activision. I'd happily pay full price for a second hand Activision game just to make sure they don't get a single penny of my cash. F*** you, Activision.

You can now transfer all of your digital content to new consoles.
All content is tied to both the console and the gamertag. You can play it on different consoles as long as you're signed in and EVERYONE on the purchasing console can play it.

They used to do that, but the 2 map packs on Halo 3 now are still 800 points I believe.

What's the worst that could happen? Launch at a high price, see how many people bite. Then, every few weeks do a "test" by having a Deal of the Week on some titles, gauge how much sales go up and before you know it, you can pinpoint the exact price people will be willing to pay for the maximum amount of income. Bastards.

You can't trade it in, either. I know some games are worth keeping for ever, but sadly not that many.

I've yet to buy a single 800 point map pack. I've never seen one that I felt was worth the money.

If its another 800 point map pack, count me out.

No? They're still on there.

Yeah, this is the norm with digital content, what did you expect? Steam is no better (especially in the UK), I can find newly released games online for half the price steam charges.

I think the main problem is publishers and digital distributers wanting a bigger slice of the action. Someone, somewhere, has worked out that by distributing online, you can save so many £s/$s and both sides have decided that they want that money in THEIR pocket, so the net result is the price ac...

I'm calling FUD on this one. There's a LOT of games out there that run in sub-HD resolutions, not just MS-approved ones either.

No, Vista failed in the public eye because people thought it was buggy and a resource hog. Ease of use was actually one of its better points.

"or recently purchased, incompatible DLC?"

Right, I'm all for having a go at Valve over this L4D2 fiasco, but this is taking the piss. The DLC is NOT incompatible, the DLC is for L4D1 and that's quite clear. Did the DLC for Gears 1 work on Gears 2? No and you wouldn't expect it to.
There's plenty you can have a go at Valve about, but this is taking the piss.

Don't see what's so complicated about it?
I wouldn't recommend ever "upgrading" an OS anyway. Backup your documents, backup anything important and do a fresh, clean install.

Who cares about Microsoft or Sony? Price cuts on both systems are a big welcome from me. More systems means more game sales. More game sales mean bigger, better games as they can get the development costs back more easily.
Most importantly, more systems means less need to up the price of games (I'm looking at you, Activision).

Technically it's correct, though. As annoying as it is, live does have a lot of features that don't require you to pay for, specifically downloading demos, games, content, etc. Live accounts themselves are free, but "Gold" accounts are not. You see this kind of thing all the time, from all sorts of businesses. Airlines are the worst for it (at least in the UK), where they'll offer you cheap or even FREE flights, but charge you for checking in, baggage handling, etc.

It's just a footnote. On the back of the box, it'll list 5 as being "Xbox Live Silver is free, but gold is not", only a bit more wordy.
