I think anyone that thinks this is a fanboy attack on Sony is possibly taking it a little too seriously. Obviously, that reaction from you is partially what they're after, but I think they might have, in their own way, got somewhat of a Valid point across - what's the point in Home?
Don't get me wrong, as a PS3 owner I quite like the idea, but it has that "tacked-on" feeling. I think for it to really work, it should be a core part of the PS3. Instead of the XMB, you should boo...

...I can still see how biased this article is. Seriously, this kind of crap does nothing to help the industry, it just makes us gamers look like a bunch of infantile "my console's e-penis is bigger than your console's e-penis" idiots.

Both the 360 and PS3 are doing well. This is all that matters. There will always be areas they both excel at, but that's fine, that's a GOOD thing, we WANT both consoles to duke it out until the next generation.

Competition ==...

Linux isn't the fastest OR the smallest OS out there, but I suppose it's a matter of context.

6263d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's already known that google has their own internal version of Linux that they use for various things. Not to mention this, but Google employees are allowed to use any OS they want, so who's to say 1/3 of the employees aren't just a little bit paranoid?

Or the most likely explanation of them all - Google's main focus is crawling the web. They don't just do it for search, either, they do it for their targeted advertising and God knows what else. It's likely that all this traffic...

This article is exactly right. Fighting over which is better is completely pointless.

Competition is a GOOD THING, especially in this industry. Look at all the wonderful things firmware updates have brought to our consoles over the last year alone - none of that would have happened if it wasn't for both sides bitterly fighting for every scrap of market share.

I can happily admit that the 360 is my console of choice. It is, in my opinion, the better console for me (I ...

joevfx > This might be a shock to you, but some people just want to play games and don't care about anything else. For those that want all those extra features, the option is there to buy them. The only validish point that you made was the cost of the wireless adapter - that truly is disgraceful.

You don't HAVE to buy anything, you get everything you need to play the games. This might come as an absolute shock to you, but quite a lot of people just want to play games, they don't want all the extra bells and whistles and that's who the Arcade is for.
If you want to go online and do all that, there's a model there just for you. No scam, just a choice.

"Four of Microsoft's biggest products are under attack. What does this mean for Microsoft and the Xbox 360?"

Simple: Bugger all - it's a completely unrelated market. The only effect it has is reduced profits for Microsoft as a whole, but they're still making shedloads of cash.

Look at the name of the site that created this article. With a name like that, does anyone seriously expect there to not be a hint of bias within said article?

Not bashing the site, I'm just saying take the article with a dash of salt.

Christ, some of you really need to open your eyes. Sony, Microsoft AND Nintendo have all got one thing in common - they are here to make money.
They will all do whatever it takes to keep cash rolling in.

Poaching exclusives? Ha! Of course they will, why wouldn't they? All of them are guilty of it (With Nintendo to a slightly lesser extent - they don't really NEED "big" 3rd party exclusives just yet) and you know what, I'm fine with that because it creates what's k...

Hey guess what, every single version of Windows that supports DirectX already has this ability. It's just that it's completely useless. Go and download the DirectX SDK - when that's installed, you can use what's called a "reference device", which is DirectX running completely in software. It's useful for testing out features your Graphics card doesn't have, you can even run DX10 apps on XP if you like. There's just one teeny, tiny catch - it's painfully slow.

Although w...

anh_duong: If that was true, how come the Original Xbox didn't sell half as well? Like them or not, you have to admit that Microsoft did a lot of things right this generation and it's starting to pay off for both them and us gamers, because the competition between them and Sony has made things a lot better for everyone.

Who the f*ck keeps voting for this sh*t to hit the front page? Don't tell me people actually believe any of his inane ramblings! Does it not bother you that his site is full of ads for "get rich quick" schemes that "Really work!"? Am I the only person here that doesn't understand why he's always on the front page?
He's full of sh*t!

Just because the console is easier to pirate doesn't mean publishers and developers will stop doing exclusives for it.

Factor in the following things:

The number of 360's out there minus the number of 360's pirating games out there over the number of PS3's out there. There may be a lot of 360 pirating, but you'll still be left with more legit 360's than PS3's simply because the userbase is that much bigger, currently. Plus it's also currently selling better than the ...

Yeah and the Sony fans go nuts when the PS3 outsells the 360 by a similar amount in the west.

Is it so hard to believe that both consoles are actually pretty good by themselves? Is it so wrong that we actually have stiff competition in the market? Aren't you people glad that neither console has taken off so much, that you can buy either and be safe in the knowledge that it's going to last you years because it's not going anywhere and apart from a select few, most games are multi-...

More RPGs are coming...to the 360. I've no idea about the PS3, but I know Square has a couple more for the 360 coming out before the end of the year, so I'd expect to see a few more blips along the way.
It's certainly interesting that the Japanese are suddenly getting interested in the console, I'd love to see what they think of Avatars and the like.

This article is about Blu-ray as a format. It has -NOTHING- to do with the 360 or the PS3, with the exception that the PS3 happens to read Blu-ray disks. The article in no way, shape or form says anything that can be applicable to the console wars. It's like saying "Oh CD's are better than DVDs because my 32x CD-Rom drive is faster than my 2x DVD-ROM drive". Everyone knows that's rubbish.
But it amuses me when certain people just can't get it into their head that the format it...
