As an existing Sky HD subscriber, I'd like to be able to access all of the content at no additional charge. Not even multi-room.
Right, I love John Carmack, I think he's probably one of the greatest influences on video games today. He's certainly up there with figures like Sigaru Miyamoto, after all he essentially gave us First-Person-Shooters.
But come on, lately every time he says something about his latest game, Rage, a week later a contradictory report comes out. If you can't even get the facts straight about your own game, I don't think you're likely to know what the market as a whole is going to do. ...
To be fair if you actually read the article, he's not so much "predicting" anything as using some common sense.
Everyone has a PC, sure, but how many of those PCs are actually capable of pushing out graphics at the level of either console?
I have no idea because I'm living in 2009. If this year has taught us anything, up until and even after E3, you can't predict how the final lineup will look.
Tell you what, though, Q1 2010 is going to be good for everyone.

And no, I'm not just saying that to sound like a pervy 15 year old. I really do think that too many people shy away from it just because it IS sex. And who can blame them! Mass Effect caused a storm with its "lesbian" scene, but if anyone's ever seen it, you'll see its incredibly tame, nothing to write home about.
I'm not saying we should have explicit sex just for the sake of it, but if it makes sense in a plot line, then why not?

There's no way those are ingame shots, people. The PSP just isn't capable of that. Here's a hint: They're still images taken at extreme closeup, at resolutions higher than the PSP's screen.
Don't get me wrong, these are the models the ingame stuff will be based on and it will likely look exceptional for a PSP game, but it wont look THIS good.
As consumers, this is exactly the kind of power we really DO have. Enough people complained about the ads in Wipeout HD and sony removed them remarkably quickly. I'm sure Activision will require a bit more nudging, but with enough voices, we'll get through to them.
Never underestimate the power of the masses.
Someone will buy it anyway, so buying it used does make a difference. A used sale is a lost sale as far as Activision is concerned and that's good enough for me.
I don't mind backtracking in games if its done right. Deux Ex did it brilliantly, you must go to New York about 3 times in that game, but each time its different.
Yeah, get the facts straight. He's being charged for modifying the console, NOT for playing pirated games. The modificaiton in question allows people to back up their existing games as well as pirate them. This is what the problem is, he's being accused of piracy because he modified the console in such a way that backups could be played.
Did he pirate games? Who knows, that's what will be decided in court, but as I said he's being done for modification, not piracy and that's what...
You're just talking from one extreme to another, though. Just because you're CAPABLE of doing illegal activities with such a modification does not mean you will actually do them. Our justice system is supposed to work on the premise of "innocent until proven guilty".
Its like saying that when you walk into a shop, just because you're CAPABLE of stealing a loaf of bread, you're guilty of actually stealing it.

This doesn't bode well at all. The thing is, although you might hate priacy, being convicted simply for MODDING a console is way too extreme. What about jailbreaking iphones? PSPs? Hell, what about replacing the case of your 360 or PS3, that's a modification as well.
