The problem is that there's absolutely no way to enforce that. The best publishers could do is make stores agree to it or not get any of their games, but then you'll just get dedicated second-hand stores opening up to fill that gap.
You know, I'm actually quite glad of all the delays we've had so far. Lets face it, this Christmas lineup is looking to be AWESOME, even if you only own one HD console. If, like me, you own both, you're spoilt for choice!
But normally we get that every year, then as soon as the new year hits, its dead for a couple of months. You occasionally get a big title in February or march, then maybe one more in April and that's it for the summer.
Yet now, we've got a bunch of titles every ...
This guy is an idiot. He may make good games, but clearly he doesn't understand how things outside that work - people don't have an unlimited supply of money. The vast majority of people who DO have money to spend on games don't have a lot of money.
So if two games come out they want and they can only afford the RRP of one of them, they're going to want to find a cheaper way to get them. 2 used sales might just make that happen.
I'm sorry you, as a developer, don't get any ...
They weren't the first games to use such a system, though. Aliens Versus Predator comes to mind.
"You all want to remember competition is good now but 2 yrs ago you all wanted to kill off the PS3. Gee, I wonder what changed lol"
Nothing has changed. This may come as a shock to you, but not everyone in that category happens to think alike. The idiots that want the death of the Ps3 still want it today as much as they wanted it 2 years ago.
Lets be honest here, how many people are actually THAT desperate to use facebook/twitter on their 360? Seriously, does anyone really care that much?
I'm guessing the answer is no, so why is this such an issue? Its obvious what Microsoft is trying to do - add more value to a gold subscription. If someone's paying for Gold, they're essentially getting these services for free at no additional charge.
If someone ISN'T paying for Gold, well ok you don't get these services but are you R...
If it wasn't for the PS3 Slim, this wouldn't have happened. And if it wasn't for the 360, the PS3 slim wouldn't have happened (or at least, it wouldn't have happened this quickly).
So fanboys, the next time you start moaning about the other console, just remember that competition is GOOD for you.
You can run windows on the PS3 right now, it wouldn't make much difference as the whole OS needs to be virtualised. Windows runs on x86 processors, which the PS3 certainly is not.
"Mankind history is not as long as several thousand years. That is another myth."
Really, now? And how did you figure that one out? Here's a hint - the year is 2009. Even assuming mankind began at year 0, that still gives us TWO thousand years. Note that I said "for thousands of years", not "for several thousand years".
Now lets add in the fact that mankind has existed for a couple of thousand years before that - a quick look on wikipedia at th...
Well there's now a budding homebrew scene for the 360, you might get that PS2 emulator sooner than you think, just not on the console you expect ;)
Here's a better idea, Sony: Ditch the Linux Hypervisor all together! The currently allowed features in Linux on the PS3 are rubbish. No Hardware accelerated video? Talk about gimped!
"Didn't "analysts" at one time say the earth was flat"
This is a common myth, humans have known about the shape of the earth for thousands of years now.
Don't confuse something looking lighter or darker with something being "washed out". Do you honestly expect two completely different pieces of hardware to output stuff identically, pixel-per-pixel colour wise? That's unrealistic.
Right, lets be honest here - there ARE some very subtle differences between the two versions. I mean, they're not identical or anything, but my God if they weren't side by side would you be able to tell the difference? I very much doubt it. If you own both consoles, it doesn't matter which version you pick up, just go for the console that matters more to you (Be it because of trophies/achievements, friends, ingame features or whatever).
Well done, you managed to pick out just about the only two things that are actually the SAME in this comparison.
If ONE person that commented in the previous posts bashing Microsoft over this comes in here and admits they were wrong and apologises, my faith in humanity will officially be restored.
"Hating" a company is stupid and pointless. Sure, disagree with a company all you like and a company as big as Microsoft is BOUND to have done a few things you don't approve of, as will any big company. But out-rightly "hating" them is silly, it just causes you to constantly want to put them in a negative light, so you're willing to jump on any half-truth because you KNOW the company is that bad.
Hell, look at what happened to EA because of that SS guy!

There's also an adapter for memory cards. It's not that difficult to do, you can do all sorts of things with it as well (Change your name to ANYTHING, for example). Of course, it's all entirely detectable by MS...
Turns out, I was correct to be skeptical: http://www.n4g.com/NewsPend...
Debunked.
Gamestop are no greedier than any other business out there (including game publishers). They've identified a gap in the market, a service people want and are simply providing it.
