You just have to look at DVDs to see how it would work. DVDs are a lot cheaper than games and the market for used DVDs is MUCH smaller. People buy more new DVDs than used DVDs, the same people that buy mainly used games.
The REAL unfortunate truth is that if there's a market for it, its for a reason. The reason is simple: Too many good games, not enough cash to buy them all.
If publishers halved the prices of their games, they'd easily sell twice as much, probably more. I know I'd happily buy a new game if it was £25 instead of paying £15 for a used copy. But when it comes to paying £30 for a used copy over £45 for the new, I'll go for the used.
Close the gap between new and us...
How are you using ANY logic at all? Why is the PS1 the beginning of ANYTHING? If you really want to bend my logic in such a way to suit yourself, you should have went back to the late 1960's where it REALLY all began.
But to someone with even half a brain, they knew I was talking about the Competition between the 360, the PS3 and the Wii. Also known as the SEVENTH Generation of consoles.
It's all here:
I deslike the wii because the vast majority of games on it are absolute rubbish. Honestly, I can think of just two titles I actually would like to play (Zelda and Mario Galaxy) and that's it.
It has nothing to do with the controller, I think this bias against motion controls is a little short-sighted - lets be honest here, how many of us play Guitar Hero and/or Rock band? Sure, they're not motion controls but they're living proof that the pad isn't necessarily the superior input ...
":Fine, but you leave me with the burning curiosity as to why you don't want to share them"
Its exactly how Pizzagaki said it - it'll just attract idiots and they have no place here. I've made up my mind, you've made up yours, anyone reading this will have made up theirs - what would anyone gain from posting to and fro the pros and cons of each system? Nothing. That was precisely the point I was trying to make.
I wasn't aware that the PS1 was a 7th generation console.
Pizzagaki is right, its not that I CAN'T share them, its just that there's no reason to share them here.
@OtherWhiteMeat very true, but that requires running much faster than the competition. So far, everyone seems to be going at about the same pace.
"If you haven't noticed, all of the categories in this article ended by declaring that it depends on personal preference and opinion. Both consoles are good and it is up to you to determine which one best fits your needs."
tru.dat
At the end of the day, it's up to YOU to decide which console is better, not anyone else. Which also means there's no need to go around dictating which you think it is, as each person is capable of forming their own opinion.
...
Considering Squeenix hinted that this might happen literally hours after the Sony E3 briefing, I very much doubt it had anything to do with Microsoft's wallet. If anything, its probably more a case of Squeenix and Microsoft coming to some sort of agreement with regards to MMO policies on live.
That's if its true, which I doubt at this point.
"a failed hd-dvd add-on somehow beats a standard bluray.or that compressed or slow bitrate downloads beat bluray." Which has what to do with games?
"that 5vs5 somehow beats 128vs128" so because ONE game has 5v5, ALL 360 games are only 5v5? Since when?
"that 1080p upscaling somehow beats 1080p native support." The 360 has support for 1080p as much as the PS3 does. However, notice the amount of 1080p native games on BOTH systems is distinc...
@FlameBaitGod Yeah but in a race, the timer starts from when the gun goes off, not when you feel like running it.
I think its an attempt to prevent stupid flame wars. You know how some fanboys are, they'll disagree for stupid reasons so by clicking a button, they feel vindicated, but a silly argument never took place. Honestly, just ignore the disagrees. Chances are, if you've made a genuinely decent statement and have lots of agrees, its just a truth that some fanboys can't handle.
WTF does HHG know about "truth"?
Its certainly not worth the RRP in my book, twitter or not, but I've never paid the RRP. I think the RRP in the UK is about £45 for the year, I've always paid about £25. £2 a month, to me, is pretty reasonable. If it was £5 a month or more, I'd happily do without.
Your mileage may vary, though. A lot of people don't care about Cross-game chat, for example, for them I can't really see much advantage to Live over PSN, but for those that use it on a regular basi...
Expect one? They should DEMAND one!
But you can voice chat with friends playing other matches/games on the 360. Hell, you can even chat during the loading screens, despite EA.
I've got all the info I need, I know this game is going to be absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to get my grubby little mitts on it!
onanie, I love the way you keep ignoring everything I've said about the 7th generation of consoles. Please explain why that wasn't the "beginning" of this race.
Or, if you do want to point out why my logic is flawed, explain to me why nobody's comparing the PS3/360 to any previous consoles?
