I wreaks of arrogance and attempted influence of (supposedly) impartial review process. It does this by basically saying, "Please, Mr. Reviewer, since you obviously can't read the instructions, let me hold your hand and guide you to the proper way to rate a game (this game) a 9+ out of 10".

Viva Pinata DS is coming -- it's announced. If MS had any brains, they would tightly integrate the DS to the 360 over Wifi and allow some "unique" features to be had in that world. They should look to do the same here. Though it won't change the outcome, it could ultimately, move some consoles. Rare, of course, would have to patch the original Viva Pinata with DL content to interact with the DS, but, hey... MS has spent money on dumber things.
Halo is out end September which means 2+ million out the door by the first week of october with quite a bit more time to sell through the holiday season. I think SMG will come in a strong, but distant second due to it being a broader appeal than a fighter. The problem with both those games is that they come out in mid November and early December which means a lot of people won't be buying the games this year simply because of timing. I suspect both SMG and SSBB will have stellar 1st quarte...
I don't necessarily think that the rental list is a GOOD thing. It means a lot of people don't want to buy it but want to rent it instead. Does anyone have a comparison of rental vs. sales? That would be interesting indeed... Is there a postive, negative, or no correlation?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to insinuate that this game is not as good as space giraffe is heresy. SG is crap with a capital C.
I wouldn't give Bioshock a 10, either, because nothing is perfect. It is a masterful piece of gaming work, however, and if it is only a "good" FPS and deserving of an 8 or so, the remaining categories in art direction, presentation, sound, etc. easily push it well into the high 9s.

The bottom line is that both Sony and MS (sony to a greater extent with BR) are trying to take over the complete living room experience... There are a hellava lot of people who don't want it. Get over it. By the same token, there are a lot of people who don't use the camera in their cell phone, either...
The average Joe Six Pack just buys his console to play games on and that is why Sony and Microsoft were hoping WASN'T the case. Build it and they will come hasn't exactly worked out for either party. In my opinion, consoles need to go back to doing just that -- being a gaming console. I hate integrated devices because invariably one of the integrated components doesn't interest me and therefore turns me off of the whole thing.
The hi-def battle is great for consumers right now. The freebies being given away with the hardware are making the "real price" come down fast. Blu-ray will do the same so it's nothing but good for consumers over the holidays. This battle is far from over and still needs to be played out on computers as well.
Get sex peripherals? I mean the whole motion sensitive thing really opens up the possibilities for, you know, sex related games. Even cooler if it goes "online" and becomes "interactive" over the net. Now we're talking next gen.

Hmmm... Of all of these mentioned there is only one that is a flat denial -- Bioshock. If they do indeed bring it to the PS3 at some point, they will apparently have to begin the process -- putting it at least many months away. The other "exclusive" statements include a very obvious qualifier like "this holiday" or "in 2007". It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that they are only timed exclusives.

This article seems poorly researched and presented. There are a lot more factors at play than just dropping the Xbox too early. Microsoft was new to the game and had to work a LOT harder than Sony did to get third parties to stay on the platform. The 360 completely cannibalized the hardcore Xbox crowd and trying to get developers to support both consoles would probably have been more expensive in the long run than it has proven to be for the 360. The 360 is approaching 2 years old now and...
Those graphics aren't that impressive so I wouldn't count out the Wii for sure. There isn't enough on screen there to judge by. The large image looks so-so to me and the others look like cutscenes which are certainly possible on the Wii if prerendered CG.
i would love to see a pgr4/wireless steering wheel combo... I want both but the price of each combined is 200 bucks with tax... ouch.

Nintendo may not have the best graphics available but they did innovate with the controller and it is quite fun actually. I love my 360, but the Wii still holds some entertainment. The thing is, though, if they sell like crazy, Nintendo sets itself up for a next generation landslide win. If they have truly "expanded" the market and capture a very significant share of the "kiddie" crowd... well, those kiddies grow up and their parents are now part of the action, too... G...
