If you don't think the controller will somewhat revolutionize gameplay, think Madden (your play selection on YOUR controller)... No more looking at the other person's selection screen.
Rear view mirror in a racing game.
Weapon selection/data for shooters.
Maps for role playing games instead on the transparent on-screen one.
If implemented well, it won't be gimmicky and users will end up wondering how they every p...
Obviously one can't judge this game by the demo. The game is stellar. Period.
I'm looking forward to the game, but this vid doesn't really do much for me. It's obviously highly compressed as it is artifact-central even in 720P. It seems kind of "bland" but will hold out on judgement until I get the disc and play it on my own PS3.
It's fad. Come on. Let's be realistic here... It won't reach major market penetration due to one thing: glasses... when that road block is removed, we'll see wider adoption. Even then some are *still* complaining of headaches and other issues with the 3D technology on the 3DS...
My entire extended family, visiting from out of town, went to see despicable me in 3D. Everyone came home complaining of headaches and really, really tired eyes...
I have all three platforms and play my PS3 and 360 way more than my Wii, but Nintendo finally announced a whole lot of stuff to bring back interest.
I found the Natal demonstration to be over the top puffery.
Playstation Move, while very technically impressive, is really an improved version of the Wiimote now three years old.
The 3DS is the only real hardware innovation this E3 and for that, Nintendo wins.
Best buy buys and sells pre-owned games... just an FYI.
As far as gamestop, there are good and bad deals to be had. I've traded in before when the +50% deal is going on and received $30+ for recent releases. I then wait for a buy 2 get 1 free on used and end up paying mid $30s for brand new releases. Needless to say, that works well for me (and a lot of others).
I ONLY keep exceptional games that I will want to replay at some point in the future and th...
everything was fine in this thread until a fanboy arrived. your type always show up to crap on every thread -- regardless of what the thread was about.
I'd love to have some of the original dreamcast games as well -- regardless of platform
Sell one version that has multiplayer and DLC unlocked with a one-time code in the box. Sell another that doesn't do online except to download patches and only contains the campaign. It would kill the resale value of the multiplayer version since that is their gripe. The single player version would still have value in resale but wouldn't choke servers.
I don't play online ever... I prefer the campaigns. I'm simply NOT going to buy a 5-6 hour campaign that ...
AMD or Intel -- I don't care either way as I have both in different machines. The article title states that they are going to really dig into something and then upon reading it, it sounds like a 5th grader wrote it. Do you like AMD? Check yes or no...
I think Natal will fail miserably as it is an aftermarket accessory and time and time again, after-the-fact stuff has failed. That said, the Arc looks just plain gay. No matter how cool it might work, I wouldn't use it just on principle. Imagine if a picture leaked out to the public of you swinging that thing around... I shudder at the thought.
That's pretty darn disappointing. I've tried the 720 feed and downloaded it elsewhere. Obviously this isn't anything near a final build of GT5, but this is a mistake, IMO, to release such a weak graphical showing. It gives fanboys fodder for "it suxxors" and such. Why does Sony do these things?
I have GT5:P, too, and have played it extensively. While the car details are really great, environment detail is seriously weak. From what I can see of the Forza 3 videos, GT5:P isn't going to cut it against Forza 3. We know, however, that the full GT5 will be a significantly improved game. We'll just have to wait and see the overall winner.
Regardless, I'll be buying F3 day one...
I don't and won't pay $60 for a new title. I simply won't do it. I haven't EVER and I've played most of the very recent releases. Gamestop often runs buy 2 get 1 free on used. $60 new are 55 used and with an edge card are 50 used. I then get 1 free so I end up paying $33 each for the three titles. Either that or I'll use Goozex and trade for something else. The transaction nets me about $3 per title -- cheaper than a rental -- and I keep the game. Drop the price and I'll buy new.

That is a list of the top 30 titles for the week of dec 14. That plus the prior week looks to be about 35 or so million based on the top 30 or so -- just in the U.S. If we assume the 1.5 million is only the U.S. (the article implies it is global, however), Blu is still a very small fraction of the total sales market and has a very, very long way to go... They...
"Blu-ray disc sales hit a new high in the run-up to Christmas; 1.5 million discs were sold in December alone, up almost 400% against the same period in 2007,"
Is that good? I mean, it is better than 2K7 by 400%, but is 1.5 million total discs considered a reasonable shipment to indicate "success"? I don't know what DVD shipments over the same period are but I'd like to know for comparison.
The sun will rise and set sometime in the next 24 hours.
Maybe you should read the article first. The person posted a SCREENSHOT of his store's computer system...
"Thanks to an amazing VGChartz member, we have strong reason to believe the Ars Technica price drop rumor is indeed true, with a photo to prove it."
I believe that is credit to the original article, with supporting evidence, is it not?
It will come down to the library of SONGS. I'm really unhappy with Singstar PS3 and the online selection. So much so that I've gone back to buying the PS2 singstar collections as the "updates" to the singstar store are a regular craptastic event.
The "offical" singstar form on the "official" playstation forum is brimming with people (like me) who are seriously disappointed with the crap they are releasing in the store.

If it turns out that it only supports one wii pad, I'll never purchase it. It's then just a clone of the ps3/360 -- both of which I already have. This would then be the first Nintendo gaming system I haven't purchased since the days of NES...
