monopoly or standard, the HD DVD group or Blu-ray group will be getting royalties based on releasing videos on that format. Therefore, if there is only one format this early in the game there are no incentives to make licensing fees reasonable and therefore price the titles accordingly...
monopoly was probably a poorly chosen word... but lack of options still forces prices to be higher than they would with competition.
I've not seen or heard of a single person talking about freezes or lockups. Maybe the guy that reviewed the game should have contacted 2K for another disk in case there was a manufacturing issue or there was an issue with the 360. Kind of a short review and left me with more questions than answers, but it does sound amazing. 12 hours/day at five days equals a pretty long game. If it graphically holds up to the handful of really great looking games this fall (on both the PS3 and 360), it'll be a solid winner. Not long now and we'll know the real story.

What on earth? Why a toilet? Why not a high tech enclosure with 7.1 audio or something? When a game like Halo 1 or Halo 2 gets an M rating with cartooney blood and gore -- i.e. alien blood is purple and blue and such but Call of Duty 2 and 3 (both of which involve violent shooting of human beings rather than aliens) get a "teen" rating, something is very, very wrong with the system...

Why does everyone say Halo's story sucks? If you take the time to get into the story it's pretty cool. It definitely is a deeper and richer storyline than the vast majority of games out there. It's certainly original. The Halo 2 story really surprised me as the covenant slipped into an internal war and one faction aligning with the humans. Interesting plot indeed. How about this: let's just not buy any EA games whatsoever as a gaming community and let this damn company die. EA has become synonymous with crap and needs to be relegated to the recycle bin. Give some other company a chance at the different sports licenses. They certainly can't do worse.
I'm looking for some great games to justify a PS3 purchase and this is certainly one of them. I've got a 360 and gears was great, the bioshock demo is freaking awesome and I'm now spoiled on next gen graphics. I can't go back to my PS2 any more. Maybe I should take advantage of the 350 ps3 credit card deal now instead of waiting... games on the PS3 are starting to look really, really tasty.

Hey, here's an idea -- turn out some quality titles and you'll be OK. When you have a bunch of development teams all turning out rubbish, it's kind of obvious where that business strategy is headed.
Um, I'm just not seeing any real differences that matter. It will come down to how well it plays. PS3 fans already have Motorstorm to play so if this game doesn't bring it strong, it will flop as they have a very strong competitor. I personally didn't care for the game on my 360 but I know a lot of folks did. Hopefully Sega brings it's A-game in Revo.
You have to be careful that when you hike the ball that the controller does not move forward at all or you will "lob" pass the ball to the default primary receiver.
Bottom line is this game sucks the sweat off a a gnat's sack. Hopefully the patch fixes the other dozen or so bugs in the game.
I don't have a PS3 (yet) but really liked the look of this game. I played several of the Panzer Dragoon games and really liked them. I'm cool with button mashing so maybe it'll still be good for the likes of me that don't mind mashing for hours on end. The very first Panzer Dragoon was on rails, graphically just OK, one button controlled, and very short. I loved it. I still think this game is going to be Epic. We'll see I guess.
