Here's a question: Were each of the "goodie bags" sent to the personal attention of each reviewer by name? Or were they sent to the corporate address and any particular reviewer could have snagged the bag? Further, how many of the reviewers got to KEEP the goodies vs. keep it in the corporate office as company property? If they were sent out personally to reviewers homes, it would be more of a personal bribe I think. If it goes to a corporate address, it is in plain sight, abov...
Microsoft could simply offer to let Activision continue to develop the game as an exclusive or take the IP away. I would think that "free" use of an established IP would be plenty enough incentive to sign an exclusive deal and not require cash to change hands...
Tended to favor Sony and Nintendo and generally was harder on Microsoft titles. Is that not the case, historically?
are greedy bastards. Toshiba and group don't want to share royalties with a larger group. The blu-ray group wants control of the market so THEY get the royalty stream. They are fighting a brutal fight over royalties and nothing more... and both are bleeding money. As far as I'm concerned I hope they BOTH bleed to death and a newer, cheaper format arrives that takes the best of both formats and creates a winner... (of course digital delivery isn't too far off for the mainstream)
You are the only one in this thread that can actually read. That seems pretty clear to me.
The same "cutscene" bait and switch can be said for GT5 also. There has only been one video I know of that shows actual gameplay. The cars looked great but the environment needed some serious work -- i.e. rear-view, x-trees, terrible grass textures, and so on. Pretty much everything else has been "in-garage, non-playable" and "replay" which don't show us how the real game is going to play. I don't doubt GT5 will be a good to great game, but I think judgement ...
How about a smaller cost. The cost has been shown to be the barrier to expanding install base. Why does Sony keep dancing around the issue with more pack-ins, additional SKUs, etc. Just push the price lower...
PGR4 looks like it is going to be a good (possibly great) game. It's out now on the 360. If it goes to the PS3 so be it... Who the hell cares? Play your games and STFU.
Strategic moves to make money and plant the name "Microsoft" in the heads of Japanese gamers. Those aren't key IPs (yet)... Get Blue Dragon on the DS and see if it sells 1-2 million... If so, a Blue Dragon II on the 360 will certainly fare better than 1 did...
Who is "they" and how are they "forcing it down your throat?" If you don't want it, don't buy it. Plain and simple. You are still a free, capitalist country, aren't you?
He needs his licensed revoked asap as he is a disgrace.
Sure the Cell is a cool piece of technology. Blu Ray, too, for that matter... Some games and a lower selling price. Stay on topic, Sony...
You not interested in Bioshock, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, PGR4 or any other 360 exclusives? There are some fine games to be had and since the console is a year older there are quite a few good games that are pretty inexpensive used and new...
You are probably right.... A thinly veiled poke at Sony's black console I guess...
He's not sure if new gamers are attracted to the large amount of storage or they just like black. There are these little things called "focus groups" that can provide answers to these perplexing questions.
I want the 360 to succeed worldwide as a viable console and if that is the level of overall understanding of customer desires/needs/wants etc. then someone needs to go back to school.
Before you jump on me as a fanboy, I have a 360. I love it. I wa...
These plastic addon or "snap-in" accessories are WEAK. It's cheesy with a capital C...
Citing gamestop as an "opportunity" at 47 times earnings is a bit on the nuts side. It may be a short opportunity though... I don't doubt they will do well this holiday but the stock price cannot hold like it is...
The gentleman that bought the console not only refused to provide his name for publicity, but didn't even provide his name to the Halo-dressed kid. That truly underscores the nature of it being a completely random act of kindness. I sure wish there was a lot more of that going around... not just in video games, but in everything in life...
I wasn't even a FPS fan until I played the FIRST Halo on my 360. I was amazed at how much fun the game was and was Hooked on Halo. I promptly got Halo 2 when I was finished with 1 and now I can't wait to dive into H3. I'm a true convert.
There are too many people in this thread and others that have never played the game saying it is "average". Find something else to complain about as Microsoft didn't pay off every reviewer and you know it. The game will speak for...
I'm not a huge flight sim fan but this game looks to be a winner. The graphics are freaking seriously cool. Flying at low altitude over the cities (and into the buildings while not paying attention, lol) is really cool. Another winner on the 360...
