This will definitely pick up sales in Japan, I already have a Wii U, but the game looks interesting.
Halo 4 in the top 10 is a good sign for things to come, Black Ops 2 had a price drop in January, so it isn't surprising that it's on top again. Hard to stop those COD games.
It is good news that sales climbed, but if Wii U numbers are to be believed....ouch.
If this is to be believed it is not good news, I just don't see how a new console could do that poor, unless it's a precursor to the next generation and the economy just doesn't support or warrant new consoles just yet...ouch.
This looks like a job for N4G! I mean Sony Defense Force!!
Actually Microsoft got off to the fast start by enticing core gamers with some new IP's that showed off what the Xbox 360 could do ie Gears Of War, Viva Pinata, Ninety Nine Nights, Saints Row and Prey.
After 3 or 4 years you need to start to appeal to more than the core group because that group has probably already bought that particular console.
What we'll see next generation is more of that, which is why you see a studio like Black Tusk working on ...
Well I personally play online games with thriving communities, which is anything over 50k in my opinion. So I stick to the Gears Of War, COD's, Halo, Battlefield type of online games.
I tried some of the lesser online games like Assassins Creed and Mass Effect, but the community is never large and never sticks around for very long. Even though a lot of people around here hate COD, one of the reasons I enjoy it is that I know that game will have a thriving online communit...
Multiplayer is just something that pretty much every game is going to have. I know people who will only buy a game if it has an online component and with games costing $60, people want to feel like they are getting the most for their money.
I think too many people have been burned by the 4-6 hour campaign and no online, so they are actually looking for more value, even if it's just tacked on.
As long as it doesn't cost development time on the campaig...
They should seriously rename this place to something more appropriate, all the negative comments are sickening. Nintendo has always done a good job at guessing where the people will want to go when it comes to gaming.
Nintendo always tends to innovate and the other companies wait and see if it works for Nintendo and then they use it, while beforehand they trash Nintendo for doing it! The Wii U has been out for less than 3 months, they haven't come close to hitting their s...
I suspect Feb 20th is showing "The Future" of the PS Vita with its redesign and price drop and probably some software.
I like the fact that Nintendo seems to interact with the people who bought their hardware, I believe they do the best job of reaching the people through these Nintendo Direct videos.
That being said, I was more impressed with the last one, but this one is great for 3DS fans. I own a 3DS, but was hoping for more for the Wii U.
3DS is definitely an unstoppable force in handheld gaming. I remember when I bought my Sega Game Gear back in the day I thought it was so much better than the regular Game Boy, but people just love Nintendo's handheld consoles. I think at this point people just trust that brand the most when it comes to handhelds, and they do a good job with the Nintendo Direct videos, those really seem to speak to the people who own Nintendo hardware.
So you are saying Microsoft is lying about sales? 2012 wasn't as good for Microsoft as 2011, but 2011 saw the Xbox 360's best selling year on the market. When you sell 1 million consoles on Black Friday alone, you are doing something right and you don't have much to complain about.
Really happy about this, loved NSMBU and Luigi is my favorite of the brothers Mario.
Well the good news is that thanks to the Wii U, we'll probably see pretty solid 3rd party support on the PS3 and Xbox 360 for years to come, so if you aren't able to buy new consoles at launch, you can always hold onto what you've got and save up. I think the quality of the games coming to current consoles is probably going to be better than what comes to next gen systems at start.
There is always a bit of a wait before the new consoles hit their stride.
Well the PS3 was $599 and there were already over 100 million PS2 owners in the world, this is a different situation, and I'm not suggesting that every game will suffer because of an announcement, but some could.
If you look at the history of new console announcements a lot of great games have suffered because they came way late in a cycle after new hardware was released. Super Metroid and Conker just to name a couple.
Looking forward to a new exclusive IP for the next Xbox, should be interesting with the 4 new IP's Black Tusk is currently working on as well.
I'm not 100% sold on this being a PS4 reveal, could very well be the Vita redesign and a lower price with some game reveals, maybe some quality 3rd party games or something.
Actually, if there is a PS4 announcement I'd say that might hurt the upcoming PS3 games that are releasing. The Wii U announcement didn't hurt Microsoft or Sony, the release of it didn't seem to hurt the 360 or the PS3. I think there is enough room for all, plus it's not like Microsoft doesn't have anything to announce this year themselves.
I have seen some great drawings, I try to draw with the Gamepad but it takes practice and time.
