Honestly I sat and watched that conference for 2 hours and they never showed the console, and they tauted backwards compatibility through digital only, and they never said if the PS4 will even use physical media at all.
We got 2 hours of things that I mostly expected, and we know less now than we did before.
Nice to see that the Move will have a integral part in the next generation. Seems like the PS4 will offer a lot of things to a lot of different people.
So...I cant put my PS3, PS2 or PS1 disk in the PS4 and have it work? Do I have to re-buy games that I already bought? That doesn't seem like backwards compatibility to me...
The point is, for the first time ever gaming consoles have to compete for attention with tablets and phones. Game consoles can no longer just play games. They need to appeal to everyone.
Not sure why everyone acts like Sony is selling out if they add other options? What do you think the CD player was on the PS1? The DVD player on the PS2? The Blu Ray player on the PS3? These are options put in to attract non gamers and casual gamers as well.
Nintendo is doing DLC right because they are new to it, I remember when DLC's purpose was to get content that couldn't fit on the disk and it was FREE!
The original Xbox had free DLC out the wazoo. I remember getting the free KOTOR add on, the Battlefront 2 free maps and character DLC.
Now it's a perverted way to drive up the cost of a game to about $100, which means were getting incomplete games when they launch.
Greg Miller is a complete PS3 mark now though, I never trust a PS3 game he reviews. IGN as a whole has really lost its quality, but Miller in particular is pretty far up Sony's butt.
I seriously doubt they announce 8 games, I have a feeling the only games that might get in game footage shown off is going to be Uncharted 4 and Battlefield 4.
Sony will obviously want to save a lot of surprises for E3, they'll need something to combat the next Xbox's unveiling.
Maybe they want to integrate Killzone 4 with things like Facebook and Twitter? Sort of how like when you play Madden you can post scores and info to your timeline or Twitter.
No they wont announce it or mention it and here is the reason why.
Sony wont want people to associate the PS4 with games that were announced for PS3 and never came to be. Especially since we wont be getting a price or release date for the PS4 tonight.
We will see things that people will know are coming, I think people might be a bit disappointed to hear Agent, Final Fantasy Versus and Last Guardian are announced again, since those were all supposed to be out this gene...
I did the drinking game to Sony's E3 show a couple of years ago, had to drink every time they mentioned 3-D.
As long as there is a giant enemy crab in a realistic game about Japan I'll be happy! Oh and Riiiiiiidge Raaaaacer is a must have launch game!
I believe there was a rumor that the Wii U is getting an exclusive sim racer to compete against GT and Forza. Those rumors started last year I believe.
Wii U is next gen, simply because it's the next console released by Nintendo, so I agree with you. I was unsure as if to get one, but now that I have one I absolutely love the console, I wish they would add an Achievement system, but it is fun and they just need some quality software, many company's have been in that ...
30 cents is a great deal!
Obviously I want to be able to play used games, which I'm pretty sure it will. I want it to be backwards compatible since they have done a great job building up their gaming ecosystem.
Looking forward to a great balance of new games and returning favorites, I bought an Xbox 360 for games like Fable, Halo, Gears, Forza and Viva Pinata, so I'd like to see more of that, but I am really looking forward to seeing what studios like Black Tusk are working on, since it was r...
I got one, and I have never bought a game off PSN.
Almost 80 million people? I realize that Sony is announcing their new console, but last I checked, Microsoft is a huge player in the industry as well.
I'll be watching what Sony has to offer and I'll damn sure be watching what Microsoft will have to offer.
Why bring up Microsoft at all? Seriously...
As for loyalty, they rewarded loyal Xbox Live members who were supporters from the start with a free Xbox 360 and a year of Live...so yea...
I still use the "Massive Damage" one, usually on COD games when my bullets do nothing but one bullet from someone else does massive damage to me.
Why is it that Sony fanboys can never admit when Sony obviously steals some idea? It's like you just cant deal with the fact that Sony is like every other company out there and they take ideas that other people have all the time.
I always hear the excuses and people need to quit acting like Sony can do no wrong. They obviously have borrowed heavily from Microsoft and Sony. Microsoft was the first to have an HD console, analog triggers and a HDD, Nintendo was the first to...
You guys realize Bungie will almost certainly offer something exclusive for the next Xbox as well? I'd bite my tongue with all the fanboy gloating.
We already knew Destiny was multiplatform.
