I'm sure if it were the PS4 breaking those records you'd be impressed. Blockbuster actually has a large online site as well, and we still have 2 stores in my town, and they've been around forever, so I think it's impressive.

The bottom line is that from the looks of things early, we're going to have some good sales on new hardware!

That's impressive because most "experts" said the Xbox One was a more American console, so if it outpaced PS4 sales in less than a week, that's a good sign. It also apparently broke pre-order records at the Blockbuster site/stores.

It's nice to see people actually excited about new hardware for a change.

I read it, but I have to keep in mind that Team Meat has huge past issues with Microsoft, so how can I expect them to give an unbiased opinion? It would be like if early on Gabe from Valve said something bad about the PS3 (which he did), I mean he had such hatred for it at the time, it didn't shock anyone.

Nothing in the article really shocked me, seems like from what I've read, the Xbox One is an easy machine to develop for, powerful, and I cant wait to get one. <...

You know what the funny part of your comment is, I turn on my Xbox 360 or my PS3 and the majority of my friends list are always on Netflix, Hulu or some other entertainment app.

In fact, I saw around 90% of people on both friends list watching Arrested Development on Netflix, yet when Microsoft wants to focus on expanding that content, everyone all of a sudden hates it with a passion. Oddly enough, we have Sony to thank for excess media on our consoles, it was their original...

It's interesting how this is very similar to something Sony said about the no DRM Twitter campaign, but that thread seemed to have a lot different reaction.

I know this is N4G and all, but all you can ask as a gamer is that a company takes notice, I wont lie and say that I hope they remove everything that people have been complaining about here, because I feel some is nit picking, but I hope for no used game fee, and as long as you can game if your internet should happen...

Wow! I knew that it would be breaking records, the main thing is that they got that out of the way, hopefully when E3 rolls around and we see all the games, it'll smooth over anyone who had doubts about the games.

E3 cant get here fast enough!

I think the Xbox brand is Microsoft biggest potential money maker, no way do they sell it off, and they shouldn't, they've done a great job growing the name.

Nice! Glad devs seem to be on board with what the Xbox One has to offer. Cant wait to get mind, E3 is closing in fast!

I did read it, seems like Ubisoft in particular loves it! Cant wait to see what some of these guys do with such powerful hardware in the future!

It's the underdog, but so was the original Wii, and while it's obvious the Wii U wont have the same lever of success as the Wii, it can still be a big seller. The console itself is really nice, the problem right now is the lack of games. Nintendo seemed unprepared for launch, they should have included the Pro Controller with every console so that "core" gamer's would be more eager to buy one.

Hopefully it'll get a price cut soon, and some software, ...

Seems to be a lot of the negative stuff is now turning out to be not so bad. It's tearing up pre-orders already, you can turn the camera off, and it looks like those used game fees were a bunch of bologna.

I guess all the excuses can start for why the Xbox One will be so successful, it would be kind of ignorant to assume that everyone feels the way the vocal minority feels on the internet.

I have a pre-order with a local mom and pop game store, and I'm on the "first to know" list on Gamestop just to cover my bases.

Cant wait for E3 to get a look at those exclusives heading my way! Only hope they put out a Collectors Edition of Forza 5 to go alon...

Seeing smaller people that work for PlayStation Tweet that they are listening has no baring if the PS4 will have DRM on used games. Their President even said they'll leave it to publishers.

So I think it's a good thing to get your voice out there, some Tweets are hardly a confirmation one way or the other.

Also, I believe the whole reason we aren't getting "straight" answers from Microsoft about the used game issue, is because they pro...

I'll just throw out there that they are all supposed to be published by Microsoft Game Studios, and 8 of them are first party games.

We haven't even gotten all the politician like promises that we'll end up getting yet. I mean you can count on two hands and two feet the amount of promises that were broken last generation, and every generation really.

I think good ideas sometimes have a hard time coming to complete fruition, or the technology just doesn't support the end result.

Hopefully the same people who were spouting off about how "anti-consumer" Microsoft was, are going to do the same now!

In the end, I hope both Sony and Microsoft offer used games the way we've come to know them, not so much for me because I buy most of my games new, but for the less fortunate people who cant really afford to do so. I am all for cracking down on piracy though, since that can cause issues for smaller developers.

Well watching TV does sound fun, but I'll be more interested in playing the latest games for a new generation, Forza 5, Quantum Break, Destiny, Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4 ect!

The plus side is, I can still enjoys those games you mentioned on my PS3 as well, so it's the best of both worlds.

4712d ago 4 agree28 disagreeView comment

*Shrugs* I guess this means people will enjoy their PS3's more and their Xbox 360's less now?
On to the next generation and the inevitable growing fan wars, hopefully things stay pretty even so nobody can beat their chest over something as silly as how many are sold.

Had it been to where you need an internet connection 24/7 to play games, I would be ticked off completely, however, now it seems like it's just a verification and then you're free to turn your console off to play the game. I'm okay with this, I feel like it's minor enough and there to protect against piracy, which really hurts smaller developers. I mean if you look at how many times Alan Wake was pirated on Xbox 360, it's something like 2 million times.

A...

I don't exactly agree with that, as we don't have confirmation on some things, and some of the other things that you might feel are bad or justified, might not really bother some gamer's.
