Microsoft made the first Xbox and it was bulletproof, they made the second Xbox and it had major issues for the first couple of years, Microsoft took a huge loss and added a 3 year warranty for every single Xbox 360. Hell one time my brother spilled water all over his 360, called support and told them it was RROD and sent it back in for free, and got a new Xbox 360 in 10 days.

Not understanding that if there were no more Nintendo and Microsoft Sony would have free reign to charge whatever they want, and you'd have to pay it.

Look at all the hate Microsoft is getting from insecure Sony fans. Not sure why you are posting what you WANT Microsoft to show off, but the fact that Sony brought out Move and showed off social features does buy Microsoft some leeway in my opinion.
If they show one new core IP, the actual console and say the words backwards compatible they can shut up and take my money.

Didn't the Xbox 260s come out in 2010 and end all that? I love how people are quick to say "What is this 2007?" when people mention the PS3 being doomed, or they act as if the PSN hack was ages ago, yet these people harp on RROD which was really only something really bad in early model 360's from 2005-2007.

Why would they switch that? I'm saying not everything is set in stone. I think people are making too big a deal out of DDR3 and DDR5. We don't know what Microsoft has, but even if it were DDR3, it isn't a huge disadvantage.
I think there is enough time to change a lot, not chipsets or anything, but I wouldn't doubt quite a bit could be changed.

I'm very attached to all of my consoles, I don't play the Dreamcast or Gamecube as much as my PS2 and original Xbox games though. Considering the PS3 and Xbox 360 will still get support, I'd just prefer being able to play them in the new consoles.
Now if Sony managed to make it so you could put the old disk in and stream the game you've already bought for free, I'm okay with that. I will definitely be playing 360 and PS3 g...

If Microsoft busts out with a new console that is on par with the next PlayStation and it offers backwards compatibility, they are in a good position.
Live will continue to cost money, and it looks like Sony will start charging for some features next generation as well. Why would Microsoft give up Live fees when it grew 15% last year and they make over a billion a year on it?

I think there is interest, but we live in a different time for gaming and I predict the next Xbox and PlayStation will both sell worse than their current models for at least year, maybe longer.
You do realize Sony showed off their new social media functions and even showed us that the PS Move will be a thing next gen. It looks like every PS4 will also have a new PS Eye with similar functions to Kinect.
That isn't core stuff, that is stuff that they are implementing like Microsoft in order to attract some of those casuals.
They will offer things for causal gamers too, they use buzzwords like "core" and "hardcore" but it'...
Microsoft will need to show some Kinect 2.0, they will want to get rid of the stigma of the first Kinect, and if the new one does 1:1 motion tracking that will help a lot.
I don't see why people are against Microsoft showing off social aspects or a new Kinect, Sony showed off Move and their own social aspects, Microsoft will need to counter that.

The good thing about Sony's next console launching with something similar to Kinect is that it will help keep fanboys at bay. I had the biggest smile when they busted the PS Move out at their show the other night.
Lets face it, Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo all are trying to garner as many different types of gamers as possible.
I keep telling everyone that there is plenty of time to tweak these new consoles before they launch. Nothing is set in stone yet with them and there could be quite a few changes.
It'll be a lot closer in terms of exclusives this generation because Microsoft has beefed up their studios in house. Instead of going out and buying a ton of studios, they opened their own.
Black Tusk Studios is a name people will need to remember next generation. Microsoft also has around 20 studios now, which is impressive.
Just looking forward to the creativity that they can offer next gen.
