I know I'll get hate for this, but I didn't download a single indie game this generation. I think if in the future they are allowed to implement Trophy's and Achievements it will help get more people interested. I just didn't see anything that really interested me.

@Minato-Namikaze

So you think because Microsoft shifted focus 4-5 years into the Xbox 360's life that Microsoft will have forgotten what got them to where they are today?

Did you really think they wont release new IP's? They've released new IP's in every single console generation that they've been in. They believe that new IP's are better to launch a console or better to come at the start of a generation in order to build up a fan base...

The specs were impressive and Sony did a good job at not giving people much to complain about.

I wish they would have actually shown the console, but then a lot of people probably would have complained about how it looked. If they talked price, people would have complained.

So I guess I wish they would have shown something other than Killzone running on the console. Watch Dogs was a bit misleading because it was on PC.

They did a lot right ...

Actually while I agree a lot of things are in place, the final specs for the PS4 and the next Xbox probably aren't finalized.

Here is what Jack Tretton said yesterday about the PS4's specs.

“(PS4) is still in development in terms of final specs and design.”

Microsoft could easily swap out the memory they have if they wanted to match what the PS4 has, they could just about do anything aside from change chip sets.

I w...

People will try and claim and Microsoft is scared or responding to Sony, but did anyone actually think Microsoft would wait all the way to E3?

Look back at Microsoft's history, they have never waited for E3 to unveil a console, and when I say unveil, I mean unveil. They will actually show the console and give specs that will be on par with the PS4.

I'd expect 3rd parties to show off some things and maybe a new core IP or so.Honestly if they go out, ...

Scared of what? All Microsoft needs to do is get up on stage and actually show their console, release specs at least on par with the PS4 and show a new core IP and people wont have anything to complain about.

I think you underestimate the money that Microsoft has as a company, they didn't build up the fanbase that they have and the market share that they have just to throw it away.

You are basing your entire argument on rumors, it was rumored that the PS4 would only have 4-6 gigs of memory. Turns out the PS4 is still in production faze and the specs aren't even final.

With 10 months to go, how do you know what Microsoft has in store if they haven't announced it?

If you look at both the Xbox 360 and PS3, both had pretty much the same amount of "core" exclusives and games in general, only the Xbox 360 had them since th...

Hey whatever helps Jack sleep at night, Sony has used non gaming ideas all along to lure in people who aren't gamers. CD player in PS1, DVD player in PS2 and a Blu Ray player in the PS3. I think we all know someone who bought one of those devices strictly because it was a cheap option for that type of media.

If it's believed that Sony is just for gamers, why bring back the Move that the core Sony gamer tended to hate? Why institute a camera that Sony gamers ragged on...

It was clear from the minute that Microsoft didn't buy OnLive that they had a plan in place already. The leaked Microsoft documents mentions gaming from the cloud on any mobile device. They are a freaking computer software company, of course they have something planned.

I know there are over a billion reasons why you're wrong...

First of all, if Xbox Live Gold Subscriptions are increasing, why would they stop that? There wouldn't be a reason.

As for Sony, what if PS+ was just a Trojan Horse to test the waters? Sony has never released numbers when it comes to the service, but I have to imagine they cant keep adding features and security to PSN and not charge people for it.

As a gamer, I realize it&#...

Actually they seemed to have their own Kinect type of games, and Move made an appearance, so I'm sure Wonderbook 2 is in the works!

Seriously though, I can understand no BC with the PS3 due to the Cell, but why not PS1/PS2 BC? My PSP can play those games but not the PS4? Seems like a bit of a cash grab by making everything available "On demand".

I seriously doubt implementing some BC would have raised the price significantly.

Bottom line is, I'm not going to put money down on something without seeing it first. I'm also not going to commit to buying something that has absolutely no price tag.

I don't think I'm crazy for thinking that way.

Maybe if we fast forward 5 years you'll be able to get a PS4 for $299. Sony has the Vita which isn't doing well, they have a new home console coming out, they will probably already be taking a loss on it, but I doubt they'll take a huge loss like selling it for $299.

I'd guess a model at $400 and one at $450. Anything over $500 would be a bad idea.

4860d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

You are exactly right, and I know a lot of people who use Xbox Live because they think it's safer. Public perception is hard to change, no matter what Sony does to distance themselves from their hack, people will always remember and bring it up.

I think most people, like myself realize that Nintendo takes a loss on the Wii U at $350 per console, a lot of that is the controller, but Sony's new controller doesn't look cheap.

I'm not saying $800, but I wouldn't doubt a SKU for $450-$599. A lot of people remember the $599 PS3, but there was a $499 model too. I personally think anything over $400 will be a tough sell for a while.

4860d ago 1 agree10 disagreeView comment

I think Sony wants people guessing $600-$700 so when they lay the $450-$550 number on us people wont be outraged. Sort of what they did with the Vita, everyone thought it would be $400 and when it ended up being $250 everyone was relieved.

I cant afford more than $400, so take it for what it's worth.

If you look at past consoles, 5 years is about when new consoles should be announced. This long console cycle has hurt a ton of developers and us gamers as well.

We get sequel after sequel because they already have those engines built and it's easy to pump them out. If we had the standard cycle, we'd have more innovation and less sequels.

I think around 2010 we should have had a new Xbox announced, you have tablet and phone owners getting new hardwa...

I'll repeat some things I heard when we only saw the Wii U controller and no console. I think we needed to see the console, when you go buy a car, you don't look at the specs on paper and say "I'll take it!".

If Microsoft had done that, everyone on this site would be all over them, but since Sony did it, it's perfectly okay? I was disappointed not to see the design. I thought Sony did a good job with the conference, they decided not to give people m...
