They haven't announced a next Xbox, so why would they deny a rumor about said unannounced console? Yes, we all know a new Xbox is on the way, but Microsoft will want to show it off at it's own show, when they decide to do it.
I can understand the frustration of the rumor mill and wanting to know what's going on, but these same rumors blasted the PS4, and Sony didn't quickly rush out and say something, they said something when they were damn well ready, and I ...
How can they do either before showing their next console, price point, release date? You cant, that would be as retarded as someone saying the same thing about the next Xbox. We don't know anything about it, no way can we say it's in first or going to win.
Jumping the gun-meet-counting chickens before they hatch.
Bubble up for having a level head and making a comment that was thought out and had a source. I said the same thing the other day, Gamestop wouldn't be pumping up the next Xbox and say they were "involved" with it if they thought it would hurt their bottom line.
I don't think there is a such thing as bad press, but I think everyone will check out to see what MS has to say when they do finally announce something about the next Xbox.
All of ...
As if the reaction hasn't been overwhelmingly negative anyway, the last few games that tried to use DRM had MAJOR issues. Thankfully we live in an era of social media, and I know I sent Aaron Greenberg and other higher up's at Microsoft messages about an Xbox that forced online.
I know I wasn't the only one, the main thing I think I managed to get across was that I didn't overreact, just stated that it was a bad idea, listed some reasons and left it at that. ...
LMFAO!
Really? We are declaring Sony the winner of the next generation before they've even shown what their console looks like, the price or release date. That is some damn prognosticating right there.
To also use a rumor about the next Xbox as a basis for that prognostication is just bad journalism, we have no facts, just rumors. I cant wait to see what the truth is, but if these rumors turn out false, a lot of crow and humble pie shall be served.
Why would they deny a rumor to a console they haven't publicly announced yet? You realize Sony had these same exact rumors floating around the PS4 last year and didn't say anything about them until they announced the PS4. Why would you expect Microsoft to say anything before they've even announced the thing?
The best thing that could possibly come from all of this is that if Microsoft were considering DRM, it'd probably be easy enough to disable at this point. They had to realize nobody wanted this type of thing. Always online is one thing, but forced always online is quite another.
This is true, but there are over 76 million Xbox 360's altogether, and even if say 10 million were no longer active, that is still over 20+ million consoles not connected to the internet.
The thing is that you wouldn't really own any of the games if the rumors were true, you'd be screwed if the next console came out and they stopped supporting the servers on the current one.
I actually don't think it would be the death of Microsoft because t...
I've never seen Microsoft have the entire front page all to itself, these rumors are giving them a ton of publicity. No matter what your stance is on Microsoft everyone will tune in to see the truth when they finally decide to acknowledge they even have a new console in the works.
They aren't really in any harm by letting the rumors go because you cant even pre-order a PS4 yet, and anyone who would choose one over the other without even hearing confirmation is probabl...
Well I highly doubt Gamestop would "work" with a company if that company was cutting out used games. I don't think MS would do that anyway, but the fact that Gamestop is on board and have seen the machine, I tend to think it'll allow used games.
The Xbox 360 was rushed, but we saw a quality console that was very sturdy with the original Xbox, we've also seen a very sturdy Xbox 360s.
Microsoft has had the longest possible time to work on their next console because they were first to market this generation. As for RROD, 2006 called and wanted people to stop talking about things from over six years ago k?
Their is a HUGE difference between debunking a rumor of a game going to Steam, which is something they can fully talk about, and spilling beans on a console they haven't even officially announced.
Any developer who has worked with the next Xbox would have had to sign a gag order and wouldn't be allowed to say anything.
What he is saying, is if it's true, pay your bills. Of course PC players cant really say anything negative about this because it...
This would be really funny if Microsoft didn't have forced always online, I think people who freaked out would look kind of foolish.
I'd wait for confirmation before freaking out or doing anything drastic. Why get angry over rumors at this point? There is no reason, all Microsoft is getting is free publicity for something they haven't even announced yet.
So what exactly is the point of next generation if we still get 30fps? I mean call me crazy, but every single game next gen should run 1080p and 60fps.
Next gen is barely here and I cant stand the excuses.....if you tell me the only difference between the two gens is an extra 10,000 polygons, I might skip it for a while...sheesh.
Why say something? They are grabbing all the headlines, everyone will want to see what they have to say when they decide to say it.
I'd keep with what I was doing, no intelligent person is going to jump to conclusions at this point and time, it'd be foolish to do so. Wait, see what they say, and at that time people can make an informed decision.
Well the Gamestop CEO said the next Xbox is amazing, and mentioned that they are working with Microsoft, which would lead me to believe it'll play used games of a sort. I guess we'll all just have to patiently wait and see, I know the Microsoft conference will have record numbers of people watching, everyone will want to know the truth.
Well I highly doubt he is the only one with an opinion like that for always online, doesn't mean he speaks for Microsoft. I'm sure there are people at Nintendo and Sony who feel the same way, doesn't mean those consoles have that.
We are transitioning towards that aspect, but I would prefer not to at this time. Tweets aren't endorsements, but you can tell that the industry wants digital only and always online.
Big, BIG difference between alw...
I don't think so, I mean they usually are working on DLC before the game even releases, add in the fact that sales were supposedly "disappointing" and you get what you get.
It does suck that the only DLC is multiplayer, which is the weakest part of the game to begin with.
Well the account is legit, I've followed for a while now. The big difference between always on, and being forced to always be on to play is pretty significant. I realize always on is something companies are pushing for, we've seen it with Diablo 3, Sim City and soon with Destiny.
It will be interesting to see what comes from this, I definitely wouldn't be interested in not being able to play games without a constant connection. I also understand the future is tak...
If they denied it, it would be an announcement for the next Xbox, Microsoft doesn't want to announce it yet. Do people not understand that they haven't actually admitted to their being a new Xbox on the way?
I know the hardcore, forum going gamer's all know about it, but the regular Joe Blow gamer's probably don't have a clue. I am sure Microsoft wants the Xbox 360 to sell as well as possible until they are ready to unveil the Xbox 720.
