People complain because Microsoft goes out and does this a lot, but I don't ever see a complain when Sony does the same thing, but a lot of the time Sony doesn't get timed content, it's content that never comes to another console, which is worse in my opinion.
Timed content clearly works though, look at COD, I cant count all the times people were choosing which console to buy it for and then bought the 360 version because it has the maps first, hell when the games a...
The question was "What if Microsoft's next console required an internet connection?" and I answered that you'd need to have an internet connection if you wanted to buy one, obviously.
I don't get into rumors, but if someone wanted to buy a console without internet there would be other options available. The bad part is, it looks like a lot of the top franchises are going DRM anyway (Assassins Creed, Watch Dogs and even the new Bungie outing Destiny). So...
Another one of these articles, I think I miss the Vita is dead and Wii U are dead articles.../s
Anyway, these are rumors and unless they come out and announce that the next Xbox forces an always online connection, I am not really going to comment negatively.
Hopefully if they were thinking about doing this, they have enough time to change that, should be simple enough to do if they need to. So if anything I'm a bit glad for all of the internet outrage, Mi...
100 million is a lot for Sony when it comes to advertising, the Vita got only half of that. If they do commercials the right way they should do well, avoid those horrid commercials that launched the PS3, the ones with the weird baby's.
I was just using the large communities as an example, just a coincidence that they are all FPS games, I have found that the shooters have the larger, more active communities that tend to stick around longer for games.
I didn't knock the God Of War multiplayer aspect, but it just isn't something super special that people will still around for 6 months down the road.
I loved Dead Island, and it was absolutely a blast to play with friends, so I'm getting Riptide for sure. Assassins Creed gets a lot of hate now, but the games are always fun and never broken beyond fixing, so for $60 you cant really go wrong with those games if your a fan. The rest I probably wont get, but if your a gamer, you buy games.
Their isn't a problem with the multiplayer on Ascension, but it is largely forgettable and will probably be pretty dry in a couple of months.
It's the same way with online aspects from games like Tomb Raider, Mass Effect and Assassins Creed, there is nothing wrong with them per say, but those games will never have the thriving community of a COD, Battlefield or Halo.
Sonic Spinball was terrible....
Batman & Robin was a masterpiece.
Sonic 2
Comix Zone
X-Men
Altered Beast
Mortal Kombat with fatalities and blood!
You'd have to have a internet connection if you wanted to buy one?
What would you like Microsoft to do? Announce their is a next Xbox by denying a rumor of DRM? Ya, I can see that going well.
They are in a tough spot, I'm surprised they gave any comment about it at all. The genie so to speak is that DRM is coming and Microsoft isn't the inventor of it and if it is true, they aren't going to be the only ones.
So far we know Destiny is DRM, now perhaps AC4 and Watch Dogs....it's getting interesting and not in...
Well 90+% of games are available on both consoles and will be next generation too. Never before has third party support been as powerful or as needed as it is now days. Something Nintendo seems to be learning the hard way, you need to keep developers happy and that means shelling out some cash once in a while.
Overall this generation had no games that were exclusive from me, I owned all the consoles and played what I wanted, they all had positives and negatives, but I'll...
If you are swayed by one persons opinion and no facts, I highly doubt you were going to buy the next Xbox anyway.
Nobody in their right mind decides something based on rumor and speculation.
Well he's about to be an idiot looking for a job. The sad fact is that in the day and age of social media you have to be careful about what you say.
I mean if I say something it doesn't reflect what my company thinks, but it might get back to them that I feel that way and they might not like it. Best just to keep quiet about things.
They certainly aren't the worst company in America, but they do tend to ruin a lot of the things they touch. I wont hate because of micro-transactions because they are a business and that is optional, but they have messed up quite a bit.
Didn't we all suspect this when we heard Destiny would be DRM? I mean I kind of suspected it, I doubt this would be the big blow to Microsoft that people are making it out to be if companies are making their games DRM anyway.
The past 3 E3's were biding time until the next Xbox can come about. If 90+% of the games on the next Xbox are the same as the PS4, how are they going casual?
Sony tried to go the same route with Move, but it didn't work out as well, and you act as if MS fans should be mad that they get the huge AAA titles they bought a 360 for in the first place, I love Halo, Gears, Forza and games like that, it's the reason I bought a 360, so try and spin it however you want. ...
Ummmm, why is the title stating the rumors as fact? I would agree if rumors were true, but we haven't even had an official announcement on the next Xbox, much less seen the price or anything like that.
A lot can happen between now and November/December when the next Xbox was supposed to release.
Actually they haven't all been bad, the kid who claimed to have the dev kit and who's house was raided said the next Xbox is the more powerful console, Gamestop CEO says it's an impressive console and people will love it, meaning it probably wont block used games, and Ubisoft said the console is on par with the PS4 as far as power and specs.
The Xbox brand is fine, as long as MS comes out when they announce the next Xbox and allow used games and don't require...
How exactly can it hurt them at the moment? You cant pre-order the PS4 yet, and intelligent people are going to wait for an actual reveal and confirmation before picking one or the other if they cant get both.
Bottom line as far as I can see it, PS4 was announced, but is now pushed to the back burner because people are more worried about what the possibilities are with the next Xbox.
Because they are a business and like every other business it's about making money.
In a day and age where third party games are the most important commodity, companies are eager to offer an edge and that age is usually accepted.
