Ya, I think everyone heard 8 gigs from Sony and went a bit crazy over it, too bad consoles and even PC's don't work like that, a lot depends on where you have your resources and how you have it divided up.

Before that announcement nobody seemed to bring it up as far as consoles were concerned, I mean Wii U has 2 gigs, which is light years ahead of what the 360 and PS3 have.

Any true gamer who wrote off Microsoft's next console based on rumors probably isn't a legit gamer, rather a fanboy.

You can speculate as in "What if it's DRM?" and say what you would do in that case, I was even guilty of that, but to say "I wont get it now", based on rumors is pure ignorance.

Coincidentally the new "rumor" is that the whole DRM thing was to create outrage for that and get people all thinking that w...

It's a next gen console in accordance to the term, the main problem is that with the art direction of most Nintendo first party games, there really isn't a game that can show off what it can do.

If they were to come out with a game that looks better than the new Tomb Raider or Uncharted, people would notice and shut up about power, but a lot of their IP's are that kid friendly style and probably didn't even need HD.

Maybe when/if they do a n...

This guy is basically saying Microsoft and the Xbox 360 was too hardcore for him, he wanted to make causal digital titles and that is all well and good, but there is a huge group of gamer's that like to blow things up, to get pissed off because he wanted to copy Nintendo games that he grew up with isn't exactly making me sympathize with him.

Hardcore gamer is a term that means something different for just about everyone. The main thing about gamer's is that they've gotten older with each generation, the average age of a gamer was teen to late teen when the SNES was out, now the average gamer age is 33 years old, so of course things change.

The PS2 was more family friendly and casual than you might realize, it was a super cheap DVD player, and Sony at that time had a huge variety of family friendly conten...

In the day and ago of social media you need to be careful what your personal opinion is. I know it sound stupid, but you cant just spout off and not expect consequences.

It's the same thing if you take drunken pictures and put them on Facebook, I've heard of people getting fired for things like that, you just need to be careful and basically not have an opinion. I feel sorry for the guy because Tweets aren't endorsements and hist personal opinion might not have a...

Backwards compatibility means putting in the old disc and having it play. Not sure how they are going to handle old games, but most likely you'll have to pay for them again.

The big problem is that if you look at the games that were out that were amazing on PS1/PS2, you see maybe 25% of that content available right now on PSN, they are missing so many of the great games, it'll probably be the same way with the PS4, it wont be a complete library of PlayStation games th...

There are no specs known on the next Xbox, hopefully they look pretty even though, would love for that flame to be taken out of the fanboy war. Astounding that people argue over an extra spec of dust on screen as it is.

Do console owners panic? I seriously wasn't aware of that fact, I think the Wii U will be fine, when the big titles start hitting everyone will jump on board.

I find it funny that the Wii U starts as good as the Xbox 360/PS3 and yet somehow it's in dire straights all of a sudden...lol

I think people want the big known Nintendo first party titles. A 3D Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bro's, Animal Crossing, StarFox and Donkey Kong.

There is stuff to play, loved Lego City and of course there is Monster Hunter. I think console launches in general are known for lack of great software.

As someone who played Mass Effect since it came out in 2007 on Xbox 360, in no way did I ever feel lied to. It was the journey that was important and I thought that series might very well be the best this generation.

At the end of the day it was Bioware's franchise and they could do with it as these please, some people didn't like it, or thought they were ripped off, but I spent around 200+ hours between the three games, and I had an absolute blast, I'm not going...

85% of multiplatform games are garbage? Really? That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, I shouldn't even bother responding to an obvious troll comment, but I guess I have nothing better to do.

Tomb Raider didn't meet expectations for a launch, but it could end up selling quite well and make a lot of money, it had the unfortunate release that was at the end of a console cycle, that is usually a dead zone.

Games like LA Noire, Homefront, Tomb Ra...

What exactly do people want the man to say? He said they've made mistakes, but some people take the entitlement route a bit too far.

EA getting voted worst company because of the ME3 ending is really ignorant, I don't really like EA, mostly because of the whole NFL license monopoly, but they are hardly the worst company, and I actually like Peter Moore, I've liked him since his days at Sega building up the Dreamcast.

Why would a rumor equal low sales? Microsoft has a few great things going from these types of articles.
1.There is no bad press, they are dominating headlines with the Xbox 720.

2.Every single gamer will tune in to see what Microsoft has, if only to hear about DRM and used games.

That means Microsoft will have a HUGE stage to show off their next console, which could generate huge sales in the long run.

Actually Microsoft didn't say that, and Orth is probably gone by now. These articles are getting to be as fun as food poisoning.

People wont remember this after they announce the next console and it isn't DRM, because there wont be anything to remember.

I think the fact that everyone is talking up the next Xbox is a great thing for Microsoft, that just means everyone and their mother will be watching the Microsoft reveal when they finally decide to do one.

No they wouldn't, because if you were going to buy DLC, you're going to buy it no matter who has it first. Plus the developer gets the money for the timed exclusive content.

I understand why people get angry over it, but as someone who owns every console and buys a game for a certain console based on DLC and timed content, you have to understand that it's a business and it does improve sales from time to time.

Exclusives are losing importance, t...

It's a bad idea, and if it doesn't happen this generation it'll happen the next. One thing we do know is that more and more developers will go the DRM route starting with Destiny from Bungie.

I think if/when the time comes for DRM on home consoles I'll get out of console/current gaming and stick to more retro style gaming. The terrible thing with DRM consoles would be that basically you're renting the console and games, when they stop supporting that cons...

Exclusives used to really matter back in the day, but honestly people want to play what their friends are playing now days and usually the most popular titles are third party.

I said 90+%, which is a ton, and yes some bad games too, but there is a ton of great content as well. Exclusives tend to matter in the beginning, which is pretty much proven in the games industry, early on people want a reason to choose one over the other, but as time roles on and prices come down it i...
