@Ulf
So you are going to wait over a year before you play games on Scorpio? And everyone and their uncle knows that the new Xbox One S does not best the PS4 in terms of stable framerates and is hardly better than the original Xbox One. What you say is not the truth.
The PS Pro when it releases in early November and for the next year is the most powerful console, period, unless you play or want Xbox games in which case you are better off getting Xbox One ...
There is no reason to wait for Scorpio as one can build a more powerful PC gaming rig NOW and play all Xbox games on it yet you will still need your PS4 or PS Pro to play any Sony PS4 exclusives and for PSVR. It is games that drive the need for a console not the other way round. Since Microsoft has decided that all Xbox games will be available on Windows 10 through UWP, there really is no reason why one even needs an Xbox console. However, if you want to play Uncharted 4, The Last Guardia...
Xbox 360 could not beat PS3 when Sony had quite a few missteps and despite being released over a year earlier. From the start, the PS4 has been selling more than the Xbox One at an average ratio of 2 to 1 and that is based on the dubious figures given by Microsoft about the Xbone shipped units. The difference is likely to be higher if the figures were based on accurate numbers and it is likely that the PS4, PS Pro will total over 55 million by years end if not more.

I miss RTS games and it seems like developers no longer consider it a viable market although having said that there are 4 franchises making a comeback. Along with Sudden Strike, Cossacks 3 and Blitzkrieg, there is Warhammer 40,0000: Dawn of War 3, all releasing in 2017. The last really good RTS titles I played were World in Conflict and Company of Heroes 2 and of course, Starcraft 2 (not a patch on the original but still good)
I hope that all of these new releases of old ...
@Ristul
Most gamers look at games first. What is the point of having a console that is super duper in the power stakes but has no more than 3 or 4 exclusives a year at best? These are usually only from the same franchises that Microsoft has been supporting for years now and which are also now available on PC thereby making an Xbox console unnecessary. As long as Playstation has the games coming for console and VR, gamers will use the PS4, PS Pro and PSVR no matter how th...
Scorpio does not exist and will not do so for at least 12 to 15 months while PS Pro will be out in less than 8 weeks! For a year at least Xbox does not even have a console that is as powerful as vanilla PS4 let alone the PS Pro! What happens in December 2017 should be discussed then. In my opinion, even if Scorpio is more powerful than PS Pro, so what? Unless it can compete on having exclsuive games that are not available anywhere else but on the console, power will mean nothing to most g...
@Haru,
I suspect this is what Sony has planned as they are releasing a mid-generation update this November and while they might wait if Scorpio does not do as well as expected, they have given themselves room to come out with PS5 if necessary in late 2018.
PS Pro will be out a year to 15 months BEFORE Scorpio so there is NO advantage! If anything, for the next 12 to 15 months, Microsoft has no console that can even come close to the PS Pro let alone outperform it and, worse, will continue to have NO exclusive games to even warrant buying Scorpio when it comes out. At least with Playstation, you can only play the PS4 and PSVR games on the console, whether PS4 or PS4 Pro.
Microsft has unveiled nothing - it has merely revealed that is planning to bring out a self-styled 'most powerful console in the world'. If the console does indeed get released as planned, it is still over 15 months away.
'Sparse'...just for the last three months in the year, unlike sparse all year for Microsoft which just had one major AAA title in 9 months while Sony had over 6.
@bleedsoe9mm
Yeah! Each month Sony just laughs it way into the bank after so many punches. Has there been more than ONE month or two at best in the ENTIRE YEAR when Microsoft has outsold the PS4? All you guys do is sit and stare at your Xbox One S and tell yourself, 'something better is coming in 15 or 18 months and THERE WILL be games at some point'.
Upper hand in what? Building a console that is still 15 months away and labelling it the most powerful in the world means little when Microsoft has so few first party games with which to enjoy the console. Scorpio will already be unable to match the very latest PC gaming rigs at the time of release and given that Microsoft has ensured that you do not need a console to enjoy XBOX gaming, Scorpio is just not essential. It may well be a super duper console, but if it lacks games that give it ...
@hot4play
More like:
"if your priority is better graphics and performance for games as well as exclusive games, in addition to the multi plats, get the PS4 Pro"
"If you want to play UHD Blu-ray, using the console as an inexpensive player, and gaming is not a priority, get the Xbox One S".
Simpler.
Just $399!
Do we have to? (I mean check out the PS3 running etc.) We are now with the PS4, Neo and PSVR and a whole new generation of tech. Can we not focus on what is about to be released as I am sure it is far better than what existed a few years ago? On exception...the CELL CPU was something special, and I doubt the AMD tech carried in this gen is anything special.
What a load of crock! Talk about spin....
Imagine as the following:
"The release for PS4 was so important we decided that rather than release it when the largest fan base for the game on the Playstation was ready and willing to spend money on Day One, we would delay the release to make them wait for nearly a year longer while in the meantime, the console that has barely supported the franchise will have timed exclusivity to allow the Xboners to clai...
@Genuine-User
er...these are Australian Dollars but yes, you are right it is more expensive in Australis as the pack is equal to US $90.
@MurkC0re
You must be thinking of Microsoft whose exclusives are no longer exclusives as they are also released on PC now. You CAN NOT play most Sony exclusives on PC!
"The way Sony has been launching their main exclusives has been sparse compared to Microsoft who drops 2-3 exclusive toward the end of the year, and high quality exclusives."
Another incorrect statement! Each year Sony has released FAR MORE exclusives than M...
@Death
"is on top of the $50 increase Sony asked people to pay less than three years ago"
I don't know what $50 'increase' you are talking about here. Sony NEVER charged for multiplayer access on the PS3 and brought a charge in for the PS, giving us fair warning months before that this is what they planned to do. If you didn't want to pay it, you don't have to but then you obviously cannot play multiplayer games on PSN. T...
Gosh, it really captures the poignancy and timelessness of these masterpieces. I hope 'The Last Guardian' will be the crowning glory. 'Bravo' for the trailer.
