Is this the same 'power of the cloud' that was supposed to give Xbox One the strength to close the power gap and surpass the PS4? 3 years have gone by without any change.

Microsoft is probably spending a fair sum of money to design, build and manufacture Scorpio, probably to the chagrin of some of their investors and with a 'this is is the last time' from the rest. Any further expenditure would have to be justified by the returns. 'If (add item) is not...

The writer does pretty much nail the reason why the HTC Vive has got the support of both developers and PC gamers who can afford the kit. Oculus has had some serious missteps recently towards both the consumer and developers, and in a market where there is an alternative that is not only as good but actually better, better, this can be devastating. The one thing that has kept Oculus in the game is the pricing which is lower than that of the Vive but beyond that, there is not much reason to ...

"Singleplayer was never a strong aspect of the Battlefield franchise, so having only 5 missions isn’t likely to upset too many fans of the series".

It is this kind of rationalization that allows companies like EA to stiff gamers with content.

"not much to look forward to" True if you are an Xbox One fanboy but untrue if you own a PS4.

er...Sony has the 'The Last Guardian', 'Gravity Rush2' and a batch of JRPGS. This is after 6 major exclusives released already this year as well as other smaller releases.

Begs the question, why? It is not like there are any new games that have appeared! I suspect people are buying it just because it has a 4K blu-ray player and Microsoft has dropped prices so much that the console has become an impulse buy. I mean £199 is a good price for a UHD 4k player but if that is all some people want, why not spend a bit more and get a really good stand alone player from Samsung, Panasonic or even Sony that actually offerss more useful features for those who like ...

Sigh...

PS Pro will exist from November this year. Scorpio is AT LEAST a year away. In that year just imagine how many PS Pros, PSVRs and slim PS4s will be sold and then think about how many new games will have been announced by Sony by the end of next year in addition to all the games that were announced over the last two to three years finally releasing.

Scorpio is brand new console which Microsoft is spinning as a mid-generation update and represen...

'undercover nazis' ? You are nor far wrong. Having worked in a corporate culture (I lasted a very short time as I decided having a conscience was preferable), in my experience such a culture breeds such behaviour as profit becomes the only goal with everything else being determined on the basis 'how will this affect our share price and earning per share'.

EA has destroyed many a franchise through poor management. A game or a developer becomes successful, EA buys the studio, imposes a low-cost, high-profit mindset executed by a top-down management resulting in those who know being forced to meet the demands of those who don't. The end result is a poor game and a studio that starts to wither with defections by core staff, those who made the game and studio successful in the first place. EA destroyed one of the greatest gaming franchises ...

Sony has its reasons why 4K Blu-ray was not included which is more likely that it wanted PS Pro to be seen more as a gaming console and also not pillage sales from Sony's stand-alone UHD 4K players. Regardless of the reason, most gamers I suspect will appreciate the huge increase in power from the vanilla PS4 and while a 4K player would have been appreciated, the lack of is not a deal breaker.

I also suspect that Sony has a long-term hardware strategy in place now wi...

Yes. you keep on waiting, the rest of us will get on with our PSVRs. The good thing is that given that there isn;t enough supply to meet present demand, you not buying one means someone else who wants to give Sony's VR tech a chance will get one instead.

The mouthpiece of Microsoft strikes again! Click bait headline and pro-Microsoft reporting as usual.

Scorpio is releasing 12 to 14 months from now - but Microsoft and supporters are desperate to somehow make it part of present day conversation.

You have been missing out on one of the better franchises - you can download Yakuza 5 on PS3 right now and Yakuza 4 is still available. Yakuza 0 is being released for PS4 soon and, hopefully, Yakuza 6 will follow quickly. Yakuza 0 is a kind of a revisit to the origin story.

Scorpio may well be the most powerful console but to what end? Being the most powerful is just one aspect of a successful console and it is not even the most important one. Look at Wii, it was the least powerful of the three major consoles last generation but sold the most because it had the games that consumers wanted and it attracted gamers from age groups and demographics that were, are, unique to the Wii. The PS4 has been successful partly because of all the missteps Microsoft made and...

Gamingbolt the mouthpiece of Microsoft gives us wishful thinking of how things are going to pan out with regard to Scorpio, a console that will be released a year AFTER PS Pro. What this rag fails to realise is that ultimately when all is said and done, when we get past the hype and bullshit, the marketing and spin, all that matters for gamers is what games they can play on their favourite console and clearly the games that Sony offers on the PS4, PSVR and PS Pro (the latter two releasing in...

"Sony explains why UK's PS VR disc has fewer games"

Less is more but not always.

I am in the UK and I have the best Broadband connection speed available to me which is 200mbps. Forget about 4K on Netflix and Amazon, I find that streaming 1080p is problematic at times. I have tried watching 4K on Netflix (I actually pay for the privilege monthly) yet the quality is simply not the same as on UHD 4K discs and I never expected it to be. I would prefer to watch my movies on disc as the quality is simply better and always will be than streaming.

Sony could...

Wishful thinking. If Ryan really thinks that the Scorpio which is at least a year away can result in Microsoft overturning what could be a 30 to 35 million deficit against Playstation, he needs to smoke something to get clarity. Even if Sony has stumbled (I don't think so) it appears that this misstep is selling well so perhaps Sony knows more than Ryan what consumers actually want.

"I see nothing exclusive beside UC4 I would play" . Yes, that is you personally, however, I am sure many gamers will disagree with you as I do. The fact is that Forza, Halo and Gears of Wars are the ONLY franchises that Microsoft appears to care about. Recore and Quantum Break were valiant attempts but had Microsoft given them the kind of attention they continue to give the three favourite franchises above perhaps they might actually have been exce...

Since this guy likes to compare Xbox to PS4 on anything and everything, how about actual games, or the lack of on Xbox? With just two major releases this year so far, Recore and Quantum Break, when will Microsoft start to have more exclusives than Playstation? But Microsoft can't as all Xbox games are now also available on PC thereby making the Xbox redundant, period. What is the point of out-muscling PS Pro when your console itself is no longer necessary? At least with the PS4 and ...
