PSVR is just great! Since mid-day Oct 13th, I have been playing Rigs, Eve Valkyrie and Driveclub and I have only stopped to eat, sleep and for my daily ablutions. Nothing else exists for me at the moment. It is like gaming has changed overnight. I have taken a week off to get my fill of VR and 3 days in I regret not making the break longer.
The set up was just not completely straightforward and you also need to peel off the plastic protective sheets from various places ...
So using Phil's assertion, the easiest solution would be for Microsoft to make games that the Japanese like and then the take-up of Xbox One would increase. Considering that so many gamers in Japan also love games like COD and Battlefield, if anything it shows that Japan is willing to buy games that are good regardless of whether they are 'made in Japan' or not. The lesson here fo Phil is that the Xbox should have a greater variety of games and then we might see greater support ...
Sony has 3 major gaming devices available this year - the PS4 / PS4 Slim, the PS4 Pro and The PSVR. God knows how many units of the console and the PSVR Sony is going to shift but all this means is that in a years time we will have nearly 60m users who are enjoying Sony's wares and the obvious effect will be more games for both the console itself and VR. The PSVR is an advantage all the way.
Dumbest thing one can do. I would rather wait and get it at price it should be and spend any extra on games and a good meal! Or you could have bothered not to listen to naysayers and pre-ordered on 16th March in that ten-minute window within which time Amazon sold the 'Day One' stock. Or the next batch after that and so on. Or get off your ass and go to another retailer (Amazon aren't the only seller) and pick one up! My friend bought one yesterday so they were available!
@MichaelLito79
Too bad you such an Xbox Fanboy that you cannot even understand what I am saying in my posts. I do not brush anything under the rug and criticize Sony when the company deserves to be criticized such as on Streetfighter V. Apologists like yourself are the reason Microsoft behaves in the manner it does and chooses not to invest in new IPs but would rather waste money on timed exclusives. Further, I did not criticize the Xbox at all. What I criticized was th...
@Thatguy-310
Agreed. See all kinds of justifications now that it is to do with Microsoft.
@MichaelLito79
Get your facts straight...I have stated more than once and in this thread as well that I did not like what Sony did with Streetfighter V. If you don't like what I have to say, make your point but there is no need to be insulting.
@XXanderXX
I actually agree - and if Square Enix were to be so shortsighted to do that, all that would happen is that it would force Sony to revisit Uncharted or come up with another similar IP. Sony has a number of excellent first -party studios and if such a situation were to happen, Sony would need to counter such a move as Uncharted has now been 'retired' by Naughty Dog. I daresay that all that would happen is that Square would lose out in the long run as even...
If ROTR had been a success Microsoft would never have allowed it to be released on the PS4 and would have paid for full exclusivity shortly after release. The truth is that the game has underperformed despite being a timed exclusive. ROTR has sold less than 1.3 m on Xbox One and even the remastered release of the rebooted 'Tomb Raider' sold more on the PS4. Square Enix was complaining that even sales of 5m were not enough for the reboot so I hardly think the sales of the sequel will...
Phil spends a lot of time talking about Sony. Microsoft has nothing to compete with the PS4, PS PRO or the PSVR for at least a year and can only resort to spin and flooding websites daily with such rubbish. Phils says one thing but does the opposite and everything is a reaction to what Sony does.
@Rude-ro
A good overview of what the real issues are here. Well written.
It is shocking that people cannot see how reactionary Microsoft has been and yet the company is unable to see what is right in front of it - that games are what drives the business and it is Microsoft's reluctance to invest in new IPs that has hurt them the most. People conveniently ignore the fact that the PS2, the Wii were not as powerful as their respective competitors but ...
@lastking95
Sorry mate, this is not about hate or self-justification. The fact is that there is not a day that goes by without an article or two or more about Scorpio, that it will do this or do that or that it is a game changer or better than PS Pro, etc. There is nothing to hate about Scorpio because it DOES NOT EXIST at the moment. In fact, if it did, I could understand this daily drip feed of spin. You may not like what I say, you may disagree but you have no right ...
@lastking95
I sleep very well at night, unlike the Microsoft supporters who drown us daily with spin about a console that is not even released and is at least a year away. They do not talk of what they have available now because they know they cannot compare on any front - quality of console or number of games.
Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics should stop treating gamers like we are idiots. We recognize the back peddling and revisionism going on here but the fact is that if the Xbox One release had been successful, this multi-platform franchise, which has been on Playstation for the duration of the 20 years, would have been made an exclusive for Microsoft. Playstation fans have supported the franchise the most and yet the game was withheld from us for a year just so that Square Enix and Crystal Dy...
Fanboy drivel is right! This article ignores the very obvious fact that Microsoft follows and does whatever Sony does nowadays.
PS PRO will be the most powerful console when it is released in a months time and will remain so for a year or more until (and if) Scorpio gets released. There is nothing that Microsoft has that can compete until then. X-Box One S is far less powerful and should not be even compared with the PS PRO which is a genuine mid-generation upgrade.

COD: Modern Warfare is a true benchmark in gaming and is far better than a lot of shooters that are coming out now. In fact, the first five COD games up to the 'World at War' were very good with COD: Modern Warfare being the true standout. It was no coincidence that all of these games also had substantial single-player campaigns.
Er...one could say the writer's argument makes sense until you realise that 'Infinite Warfare' is actually available without 'Modern Warfare'.
I suspect the real reason for bundling 'Modern Warfare' with 'Infinite' on the legacy edition and deluxe editions is to get gamers to try 'Infinite' and give it a chance. I doubt it is for the reason the writer suggests as when the gameplay was shown without anyone knowing the game was C...
@Gaming4Life1981
I played it first day and the first couple of hours are good but then the missions get tedious and repetitive and despite being an open world there is little to do beyond the mission requirements. There are technical issues galore and the day/night cycle is a laugh. The graphics go from being excellent to barely PS3, sometimes in the same scene! I also think the AI is broken as the enemy is no challenge even on the highest difficulty as they do really st...
The PSVR has the most games of any of the three major VR brands and is the only one available on console and supported by a company that has some of the best first-party game development studios. Even PC gamers who already have the Rift and Oculus admit to the fact that the PSVR actually has a lot more games and the situation will only get better.
Out of the gate, we have Driveclub VR, a game which reviewers have acknowledged is one of the best experiences of VR at present...
This journalist clearly is not a gamer and is prone to over-dramatisation such as with his crack about "wiring a building" or something like that. Yes, there is a fair amount of cabling but Sony has made it so easy to attach the PSVR to your console that even a child can do it so clearly this journalist is not as smart as a child. Of course wiring in this day and age of wireless hardware is inconvenient but the PSVR is part of the FIRST generation of VR hardware and as the industr...
