PC is an open platform - which is actually different from Windows which at present is the dominant operating system for PCs used all over the world. The PS4 is also very 'open' as it allows third-party developers to make games for it. Please also note that other hardware manufacturers also make controllers and other accessories for the PS4
Get it now?
What I find alarming is that you rail against Sony and PS4 supp...
@AmUnRa
I actually am a PS4, Switch and PC gamer but that does not stop me from having an opinion or thought that may actually be valid. It is not wishful thinking on my part, such a situation can actually arise. The Xbox One X offers a UHD blu-ray player, something that one of the inventors of the technology did not think to offer on their own console. This alone makes the Xbox One X pretty desirable and at $500 it also offers Dolby Atmos and therefore makes appropriat...
I bet Sony announces PS5 next year if Xbox One starts to eat into the Sony lead.
At present Playstation is dominant primarily because it has many, many exclusives and very big IPs that continue to deliver sales and gamer loyalty. However, new IPs are expensive to develop and while Sony has the best roster of first party game studios, with PS4 the development costs were not as high as in previous iterations as the console adapted to using what was essentially PC processors ...
If you don't like such violence, don't buy it! The game for adults - so act like one and live and let live.
I wonder if this article would have been written if Microsoft was making such games?
Assholes - look at all the violent porn out there, all the violence in real life. Complain about them but then that does not fit into your agendas, does it.?
Just because we play a game that is violent, does not mean that we are violent - it is a game. Our psychological makeup is far too complicated to be judged in this manner. There was hardly any violence in enterta...
@rainslacker
It isn't that Xbox fanboys never learn, it is that they have nothing else they can say. They cannot exactly point to an Xbox game because they hardly have any exclusives and certainly nothing like TLOU. They have maybe one or two releases each year so in the absence of games to compare with, all they can do is say silly lies.
Crapgamer is a racist - nuff' said (but of course imo)
@MVGeneral
The games on Switch while appealing to younger audiences also appeal to adults. I started playing games in the 80's as a teenager and I consider myself a hardcore gamer who is loyal to the Playstation world but who still appreciates good games from other consoles. I still look forward to a new Zelda or Mario game from Nintendo and I am sure there are many more like me. These games do well because they are great games, not because they are aimed at younger ...
Anyone who has played Wolfenstein: The New Blood should know that that Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is worth getting and now! I got it a day early and I have been playing it since and I am glad that I missed out on Battlefront 2 and Call of Duty WWII in order to buy Wolfenstein, Mario Odyssey, and Evil Within 2.
It is a pity that Wolfenstein and Evil Within 2 have both arrived during the October/November rush and many gamers will probably opt for Battlefront and COD i...
Insomniac was insistent that Sunset Overdrive will never come to PS4 after the game was released but did not do so well as an Xbox One exclusive. I guess they can't go running to Sony after that for the sequel.
Pity Insomniac did not make the first game a multi-platform game from the outset. Ah, well lesson learnt.
Perhaps the biggest announcement here might be Sucker Punch's new game with a teaser at the end of the presentation and then a proper trailer at PSX. I also think we are overdue for a new 'Infamous' and it will be 4 years soon since the release of 'Second Son'. Perhaps we might get a couple of games from Sucker Punch over the next 18 months.
'Wild' also has been missing for awhile and Paris might just be the place for a re-introduction as the ...
Bethesda appear to be developing a habit of doing this - Doom had a much better cover on the reverse and now Wolfenstein II. Roll on Oct. 27th!
5 more days! They drag at the moment made only bearable by the thought that I will be able to play Wolfenstein and Mario on the same day. Taking out Nazis and chucking a red hat! Lovely!
"There are many games that skip out on a release on the PS4 and go with an exclusive release on the Xbox One instead". Really? Maybe you ought to explain clearly from the outset that PS4 does not allow devs to make money off incomplete games is the reason why. But then the writer of the Microsoft favourite GamingBolt has an agenda to talk up Xbox and make it appear that gamers are losing out with the PS4 when it is actually the opposite.
Devs of note make gam...
Silly article. TLOU is different from Horizon which is nothing like Knack which is nothing like Infamous, The only Sony first party game at present that even comes close to TLOU in tone is Days Gone and that is only gleaned from the gameplay we have seen to date. Who knows, there might be an almighty about-turn within the actual game. In fact, one could argue that the tone was set by Kratos in God of War back in the PS2 days as losing his family and then going over the top in a rage again...
EA is a blight on the game industry. I have been avoiding EA games after they destroyed Command & Conquer, an IP that once was at the top of strategy gaming and should have lasted well into the 21st century. I also blame some of the devs who allowed themselves to be bought by EA despite having seen what the company has done to other great studios in the past.
Westwood, Bullfrog, Visceral, Pandemic, sigh....the list goes on. When I look at the original game boxes of s...

"...what big publisher is creating mostly single player games right now..." By your own admission, Bethesda, but also Sony (many, many games) and Nintendo, (er...their two biggest releases this year focus on single-player - Zelda and Mario Odyssey). What you say has no basis in fact.
It isn't times have changed - it is that companies like EA have slowly tried to create a stranglehold on the gaming market by buying out great st...
Single player games are thriving! Just not at greedy EA. Sony and Nintendo have many great single-player games to enjoy. It is just because EA wants to do the least to earn the most that the company churns our GaaS fodder. I bet when Disney sees how well Sony and Insomniac have made Spiderman PS4, the company will not hesitate to make sure that when the contract for Star Wars expires, it is given to a better company. EA and shills of EA would have the world believe that SP games are dyin...
EA is only interested in generating the most amount of money in sales and profits and will tailor a game to whatever extent required to achieve that end. Just because EA does it is no reflection on single-player games. One only has to look at so many games released on Playstation and Nintendo that prove that games that are either purely single-player or are pre-dominantly single-player sell millions. For example, Persona 5, Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4, Uncharted...
As much as Mr. Zampella tries to convince us and himself, he must be aware of the fate of most of EA's other acquisitions to date. He should not forget that it was EA that sprang the Xbox One exclusivity on the first Titanfall which led to the game being kept off the console that had the most sales. The second Titanfall even though available on all major platforms at the time was released by EA amongst the biggest multiplayer releases last year at what was effectively the worst time to ...
