And you really think the xbox or the ps3 will last for 6 years. specially given the xbox 360s track record id say you would need to replace it atleast 3 times in 6 years. 2 times for the ps3.
Now consider when you do replace them, you are still limited to the tech you originally bought. With PC when upgrade every 3-4years you are actuallly seeing new tech and better performance in games.
Also its not necessary just because its a console games will be work...
Why would you upgrade every 6 months?
I have seen 4 year old rigs out perform todays consoles.
@Kyster
How is the Xbox 360 only 300usd? you forget stuff like:
Live charges 50usd per year going to 60usd.
10-20usd more cost per game that is a huge cost it self.
Super expensive accessories.
And yea 1500usd for a PC is insane. One to beat a console would be more like 450-700-usd depen...
Good luck waiting on sony to come up with emulators with their recent selling old games in HD why should they support emulation.
Best bet is the pc. I think a psp emulator for pc is already out. Either way most psp games are on the ps2. 90% of ps2 games are already working via emulation on pc @1080p.
Recently played gow 1 and 2 on pc @ 1080 60fps.
I am sure the modding community play their part too, and make an already good looking game even better. Just like the last Witcher.
Console hardware is 5 years old now. Hence unless your PC really old, there is no chance you would get a better experience on console.
Question will any of these remakes work on the next console? or will people need to buy them all over again.
Lol both of them are like Arcade shooters when compared to Arma 2.
Agreed, its probably the most supported FPS out there by the developer and the community. In terms of fun factor nothing beats TF2. Its hilariously funny, runs liquid smooth even on 4 year old mid range hardware.
I am currently playing TF2 with eyefinity, shame a new game like black ops needs hacks to make eyefinity work. Not even trying to use the hack in MP mode since VAC might consider it cheating.
Well condensation will always be a risk. Not to mention a console should never have such failure rates as seen with the Xbox.
Now if that was a PC in question i would be with the idea since enthusiast PC users are always looking to get that extra bit of performance out of their PCs. Using an air conditioner on my system is something i have been thinking about for some time now. The waste of power is what has been holding me back.
Nintendo should just officially support Dolphin rofl. Agreed resolutions do help alot i recently played GOW 1 on PCSX2 looks great in 1080p, gonna play Gow2 soon.
No point waiting on these companies to rerelease classics, might even take alot at some of the other PS2 classics i got.
Yep will you could get 460GTX in SLI that will be awesome and cost effective.
Anyways an update i applied the widescreen fix. Black ops is running at 60-70fps on my setup @5760*1080p everything maxed out 2x AA.
Edit: getting between 40-55fps on single GPU, i guess ATI needs to fix crossfire scaling on this game.
You dont need 580 in tri sli to do this. A single GTX480 or 5870 (2gb version) will be enough.
While 30inch monitors will cost a bunch, you could use 24inch monitors, 3 of those will actually end up costing less then a HDTV and provide superior resolution.
I currently have 5870(2gig version) in CF, runs games with source engine great on 3 screens, Even a single GPU is active the rig is still pushing 60-80fps @ 5760*1080p this engine should perform about t...
Lol if Sony supported Tesellation even if it was in a gimped way just the way they did it with the whole 3D fad, youd be hearing majority of the PS3 owners here hyping it.
Bring on the Xmas sale Steam screw them all hahaha.. As the heavy would say "kill them all, hahaha" :P
Laptops arent ment for gaming mate. If you want to game get a GPU for the desktop PC you own. Good gaming laptops are a luxry product and will cost you a good deal.
@OpenGl
While its true modern games dont push the GPU very hard and that is something AMD and Nvidia should look into seriously, after all if 95% of the games out there dont need a GPU more powerful then the GTX460 then people will surely slow down on purchasing high end GPUs.
Recent testing from Tomshardware.com suggests most games are still GPU bound, Where they proved even a quad core running at 2.4GHZ is enough to max out a GTX480 @ 1920*1080
8800gtx would probably run this game at 60fps maxed out 1080p.
@Incipio
8800gtx is still more advanced then the GPUs in this gens consoles.. so if thats an old fart...
Any Low end gpu will play this better then console. Low end gpu costs about 80-100USD.. dont belive me check the benchmarks out.
@N4Great
You forget the dedicated servers thats a big win imo.
You can easilty build a Pc for 450-500usd which will easily outperform the PS3 or the xbox 360 and do a lot more.
