Yep it is far cheaper in fact.

Most people already have a PC which is waiting to be supercharged to performance levels that can be multiple times better then console. 3-4yr old PCs with dual core cpus only need 100-150usd gpu to perform much better then console and since most people already have that basic requirement (just like most people already have a tv), its very easy to transform that PC into a gaming rig.

So for most people the entry into PC gamin...

Not really man i got Steam setup, all i have to do is point and click at the game i want to run thats about it. Its actually more convienient then loading up disks all the time and in the process its just much cheaper then gaming on console.

UC3, KZ3 are very linear and are corridor shooters.

Its weird when someone wants to buy ME2 for 40-60usd on PS3 when:

It runs better on PC and is cheaper (even if the PC is 3-4years old as long as it has a decent GPU any 100usd gpu basically).

&

There are no gaurantees game bought on PS3 will even run on the next console. Clearly this doesnt give the user a chance to build their games library. Its 99% certain ME2 bought on PC today will work for a long time ...

Passed on it due to DRM and again its a very generic shooter thats about it.

Lets not forget Rage, Witcher 2, Battle field 3. All of these on PC will be graphically awesome games.

Its not just about graphics when it comes to PC gaming. Some games on PC are just different experiences compared to console versions. Check out a game like Fifa 11 running on 3 screens:

Players get view of the entire field when playing :P...

Sorry but are you aware most of the billion usd is just revenue, microsoft makes far less profit. Also 70% of the revenue from XBL is just gold Subscribtion not actual games sold.

So much XBL subscribtion going to microsoft is nothing to be proud of.

Played the superior version for a mere 13usd lol. Steam discounts ftw.

Tombraider running in 1080p looks better then uncharted 2, you need to check out the PC version flare you are missing out. Uncharted 2 has so many low res looking textures its not even funny, i would expect the same with uncharted 3. Lets wait for the game to be out.

Haha yea.

Its funny but most games actually released dont work well on console:

Tried playing Mafia 2 on PS3, its got no grass runs only at 25fps. Actually most 3rd party games on PS3 dont even have AA what a shame in 2010, many are even sub hd.

Games i bought this year for the PC and every each one of them is superior on the PC by a large margin:

Arma 2 operaton arrow head (exclusive)
Badcompany 2 (dx 11, con...

If the Cell was so powerful and Sony devs tend to use it for graphics intensive tasks, i wonder why Sony decided to get a GPU in the PS3? it just doesnt make sense.

Why would they want to pay royalities to Nvidia for the GPUs. They could have simply included a second Cell and it would have been cheaper for them since that would have increased the production of Cell 2 fold.

I feel the reason a GPU was put in place was becau...

"the processing power of the cell is not yet matched by any chip currently out"

Lol which is why PS3 only runs 5% of its games in 1080p. Stop with the crap man.

GPUs back in 2006 like 8800GTX could out perform whatever the Cell can do graphically.

Emulation is your friend. PS2 emulation on PC works like a charm. Its cool such good emulators exist it allows for us to play older games when companies drop support. Also who knows if PS4 will play any of the currrent remakes people are buying. IMO Emulators are a good back up plan for old games.

5516d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Anyone would be better of buying the games on PC. Buying HD remakes now there isnt even any gaurantee these ramakes will work on the PS4. Atleast with PC its assured people can keep playing their old games.

Hell i recently seen GOW1&2 running on pc looks awesome. Tombraider games have always run great on PC. Recently played tombraider anniversery few months back ran great in 1080p, next up i might be playing Legend which i got free with the purchase of gaurdian of light...

Lets hope they keep it tactical atleast for the PC version, which is how the franchise orginally was. Console versions were pretty dumbed down to begin with.

Have you even seen benchmarks of the 5770 before claiming this setup won't out perform consoles. Your comments are the usual console biased.

Show me a single first person shooter the ps3 or the xbox 360 runs in 1080p 60fps ill show u a dozen the 5770 can manage. The dual core cpu is more then enough to keep that gpu well fed.

As mentioned above the price difference of games alone is more then enough to ensure pc is cheaper in the long...

"$599 PS3 was 4 years ago back then $600 wouldn't get you this PC so don't get the relivance."

Yes but if a PC was made 4 years back the game price difference PC version and PS3 version would make PC alot more cheaper by now.

How is it expensive to maintain a PC can you explain? most of the parts are under 5 years warranty. Also to outperform a PS3 even a 4 year old pc wont need any upgrades. So why would you have to worry about upgradi...

He spouts alot of crap. The reason why publishers are now starting to support digital over retail specially for the PC is because:

They get a higher profit margin going Digital.
There are no costs such as packaging, transportation.
No Stock returns, if a game doesnt sell in retail chances are millions worth of stock may be returned.

Digital distributors like Steam have done alot for publishers. When a game wont sell well because people a...
