Most people are only a 150usd gpu upgrade away even on their 3-4year old rig to enjoy 1080p expereince. If anyone can afford a console, affording PC gaming is much cheaper.

i been using DS3 on my pc for a very long time. I been using MotionJoy. however if a certified driver does come out it willl be awesome.
1600usd is a lot of money. Spending all of that and still being limited to 3D in 720p and 30fps is retarted.
I could make a PC gaming Rig for that money(with a 3d monitor), that would run most of your current games in 3D @1080p (you dont even need to wait for companies to release 3D versions as most games you already own are already supported). list of games currently supported in 3D by nvidia is well over 300:

So why arent the Console versions performing close to the PC version, and before you console users throw a fit and point out PC gets updated hardware. No i dont mean PCs with current hardware. BC2 even with 4yr old PC looks superior to console versions and runs at higher FPS.
If consoles did have power left over. They would atleast be beating 4yr old PCs.
In regards to Uncharted 2 and 1, they look about the same, both run at 720p 30fps, why wasnt uncharte...

you should look at the PC version and then talk, there is a huge difference between the console version and PC version.
Consoles are most definetly maxed out with the last game. Even running at low/med settings both the consoles are limited to 720p acheiving a mere 28fps both of them, If there was any juice in any of these old machines they would certainly be pushing higher RES and FPS.
To be fair Consoles have only gimped the FPS genre. Not only have they gimped it, consoles have ensure the same rehashed crap is rereleased again and again.
Take the example of COD. Before Consoles we never had yearly releases. MW1 - Black ops are essentially the same games. Hardly any graphics differences. Gamers get milked for a 60usd game. Later only to pay for maps they already own in the previous game. When black ops releases, i can assure you maps from MW1, MW2, WaW w...

GT5 isnt true 1080p. its 1280*1080 something, also due to console limitations it dips below 60fps.
If any Platform would have had a superior version of GT5 it would have been on the PC. Imagine the game running on 3 screens, with a super wide view on eyefinity at some insane resolution like 5760*1080p with atleast 4x-8xaa and still not dipping below 60fps ;-)
Not excited until games can start taking advantage of the 4000series let alone 5000 and 6000 series.
If anything will Kill COD it wont be another FPS, it will be Activision. It will happen as soon as people realise they are buying yearly rehashes.
Relax just might be MW1, the rehashes are just getting so simular.

A friend of mine had the following setup:
Pentium 930d (its a 6yr old cpu which is dual core and runs at 3ghz).
4gb ram
6800 nvidia gpu (this is also about 6 years old its 1 gen behind the tech in the PS3 the RSX).
He was on a tight budget so i recommended him to just upgrade the GPU. He got himself a 4850 for 50usd (this is pretty last gen too).
Anyways with that small upgrade the 6...
It doesnt cost that much to own a good gaming PC. In fact the extra you spend on buying games on PS3 can easily make the PS3 more expensive to own.
Its a rehash at best. Aside the new maps there isnt much different then MW1, the game probably still is Sub HD on consoles, Graphics more or less will be simular to MW1. Prepare to pay for 2-3 DLCs as soon as this game is released. The DLCs will most like contain a good chunk of maps you already played on from MW1, WaW and MW2. Funny how Activision can get away with charging for old maps.
The game had great graphics on the PC. Specially with some mods. My brother who was playing this on the PS3 looked like a different game, not to mention the low fps on the PS3 version.
Will be funny when people who own MW2 have to pay for the same maps in a DLC for black ops lol.
edit: Why the disagree, people willingly paid for maps they owned in MW1. COD series remains on my avoid list.
