True.
Core 2 running at 3.2ghz is awesome add in a GTX 460 and you have a system that is multiple times more powerful then any console.
A friend of mine who has a 930D pentium (3.0ghz dual core) was originally equipped with a 6600gt(very old gpu). He replaced the GPU with a 4850 which cost him about 80usd. 90% of his games now run in 1080p. Any console of today only runs 5% of its games in 1080p.
Meaning even the 6yr old pc with a sligh...
Lol after consider the price difference on Games, PC being cheaper then console on every game bought.
PC is a lot cheaper in the long run to game on compared to any console.
Lets not forget PC really does everything, consoles just advertise to do so lol.
PC is an essential home product like a TV. Everyone has one these days. If its anything like 3-4 years old and is dual core all it needs is a GPU. A 100usd GPU is enough to beat the con...
Lol true but consider under current circumstances its sony and microsoft more liable to go out of business then services like steam. Both micro and sony have done nothing but make losses this gen. Steam and other DD atleast make a profit.
If sony or micro went under users would have no hope of playing mp games. The situation is quite different with DD services on PC.
MS doesnt support the 360 because they are only making piddly profits on it. Thats the reason why we dont see them opening more studios, instead they just rely on multiplats.
While MS makes piddly profits and Sony incurres losses the real winners are services like steam on PC. Hardware costs are taken up by the user, Steam and the rest of the DD network make sure to provide the best deals out there.
Only until we dont see the PC version.
@n4gno
mention a single first person shooter on the mighty PS3 that runs in 1080p and 60fps.... thats right there isnt.
Only games that dont stress the hardware too much run in 1080p 60fps.
PC has its exclusives too, if uncharted and killzone were released on PC, the PS3 version would look 2nd rate, just like those games look 2nd rate compared to any multiplate on the PC.
PC gamers happen to be more inline with how tech works, Console gamers on the other hand well most of them on this site anyways blindly believe what they are told.
Its only natural people who are aware will point out when they see something working in a sub par way.
60fps lol thats not hard, all you need is PC power with 70-80usd gpu.
lol dude its called progress, like letros said 8800gtx still beats any console out there. you dont wanna upgrade dont, and u still will be ahead of console folks while getting every game cheaper.
For those that are making a new computer they can be rest assured they will be getting more performance per $ compared to the previous year. With consoles you are still getting the same performance even if you buy a PS3/xbox next year.
I personally have 5870 in CF, with I7 @ 3.8ghz. No point upgrading until they throw us some games that take advantage of the hardware.
Its 39usd on steam, Wonder what xbox live can offer to top that.
If they put out completely new hardware, we almost say bye bye to backward compatibility.
Both the console makers incurred heavy losses this generation. Releasing Move and Kinect this late in the generation is a delay tactic. I think they probably are under pressure from their share holders to turn a profit which will take a while. Releasing another console at this point in time will only mean more losses for the both of them.
Ps3 will be running the game in 720p which isn't jaw dropping at all. Any dual core with a 70-80 usd worth gpu will out perform the PS3.
You won't need a modern pc to out do what the ps3 will do on killzone 3, a 3 year old pc will be enough.
@mastiff
You do realise even a console is outdated after 6-7 years life and needs replacement. In current gen cases consoles often fail and need replacement after 3-4years or the are replaced with slim designs.
I recently had a friend upgrade his old dualcore pc pentium 930d, all he did was replace the gpu. Added in a 4850 it now runs games like bc2 in 1080p, its some thing even current gen consoles fail todo.
3-4 years down the line he may d...
Lol@ wesley
PC is the longest running gaming platform out there. There yet isnt a console which can match:
Backward compatibility of a PC (consoles can only think of dreaming of it in a dream).
Game mods
Performance- even a mid range PC of today out performs consoles multiple times.
Cheaper prices- Every game bought is cheaper, and is almost gauranteed to be working next decade or two.

While mouse and keyboard are a deciding factor for me.
On console you dont get 60fps in 1080p either in an FPS game. Niether do you get mods. Lastly console games just die as the next sequel runs in, so there is bad value for money.
BC2 is actually played more on PC then any console.
Now show us that FPS game running on Kinect lol.
39 usd on steam for superior version. If the game is any good ill wait for it when steam has a discount down to 10 usd.
