We cant really count the Xbox at 200usd or 300usd. Since it also has charges to go online.

So for the Xbox i would count it as

360usd for standard addition (reoccuring 60usd every year) So if we take a life cycle of 5 years atleast, then the Xbox costs more then a entry PC.

Same can be applied to an arcade.

Now if people are gonna argue that they dont want to go online. Well then you just lost a big feature that this ...

@STB

You just owned your self. Best RPGS of recent years:

Witcher (PC exclusive)
Oblivision (the game isnt what it is without the mods)
Dragon age (again PC version was the version to play)
Risen (PC version was the best again)
Fall out 3(looks like a different game on PC and all the mods again)
Fall out vegas (same as above)

Upcoming RPGs

Witcher 2 (probably the best RPG o...

I havent bought dead space 2 yet. However i did buy dead space 1 from steam at 10usd like last year. however I am only playing it now.

I have it running on 3 screens(5760*1080) in Nvidia surround. Runs at an average of 200fps maxed out on my rig.

Like Kharma said you can diable vsync in game and enable it in the ATI or Nvidia control panel, works great specially with Mouse keyboard.

@battleaxe

With how old current consoles are GTX260 is outstanding. Hell a 8800gtx still cuts through games in 1080p, this industry really is at a halt until next consoles arrive.

Actually i found NFS hot pursuit to be garbage. With EAs constant milking schedule i am sure another NFS will be announced as soon as shift 2 is released. After buying NFS hotpursuit i am staying far far away.

@abizzel

We really need to get out of 2006. No ones comparing a high end pc to console. Today to run crysis in max settings @ 1080p a 500usd rig will be more then enough. Tech actually moves on, high end rigs today are needed for multimonitor gaming(aka resolutions 6-10 times higher then the current console hd standard. I personally game at 5760*1080) that's the kind of res high end is needed for. 1080p is now low end for pc.

Now that its a mutiplat let the milking begin, yearly releases with little to no advancement ftw.

@guigsy

Its called dropping support for what you just released. Look at the way EA and Activision have been doing business lately.

EA releases BC2 in march, 5 months later we have MOH, now they already have BF3 announced. All of them will have supposedly simular graphics, simular MP. However they will milk you for 60usd. Back in the old da...

If anyone should be complaining it should be the PC users lol. calm down. Not only is there not a demo for the PC, the game may also be a step behind the first Crysis.

Its over priced with half as much content too. Ill wait till its on a steam discount before making a purchase if at all.

5486d ago 1 agree14 disagreeView comment

DRM, Rehashed crap games and high prices are currently top reasons why people pirate games.

5486d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Witcher sold above 2 million PC exclusive
Bad company 2 sold just as well on PC as on console
Crysis sold 3 million copies
Left 4 dead 2 sold in millions (more on PC then on xbox anyways).

Need more?

You have indie games like Torchlight managing 800,000 not bad at all.

Most AAA titles are out on all 3 platforms. The PC platform actually offers the version closest to how the developer actually intended the game to be played. If anyone is missing out on 95% of the games released its the console gamers. No ones stopping people from playing the 5% games on console that dont make it to PC.

Games released last year that were worlds apart between console and PC:

Bad company 2
Bioshock 2

Well advantage with PC these days. Even if a game doesnt sell initially, it just doesnt die out. Platforms like Steam & D2D cause a rejuvination in sales just by giving discounts.

Every time a discount happens thousands of people buy the game, then that causes word of mouth. Making the game start to sell again. This is something that doesnt happen on consoles, if a game bombs then its removed from retail in a few weeks and thats that.

This is exactly ...

Why is it interesting using a magnifying glass to look at the differences in the console versions? When clear differences can only be seen when compared against PC.

@Jezuz

Lol that map was awesome, we used to play that along time back.

Its just one of the benefits of PC gaming, almost unlimited BC.

Well the reason why People buy Valve games on PC, is because Valve has treated their customers well.

Had Valve followed the current industry trend where:

Gamers get shafted for DLCs before even the game is launched
No mods
Milking of games

I am sure they would have had to worry about Piracy.

5488d ago 17 agree0 disagreeView comment

Valve is one of the best developers out there. Every game on console can be modded however the developers just dont want it so they can sell DLCs. The biggest culprits being EA and Activision.

@Panda

Think they made us promises just to get in a good light after the debacle with Infinity Ward giving PC gamers no dedicated servers.

Lol just stick with TF2.

COD MW, WaW, MW2, Blackops are all the same game, with new maps and minor gameplay tweaks at best.

TF2 as shooter offers everything shooter fans(specially on console) dream of getting:

Dedicated Servers,
Community mods,

Yep EA is known to shutdown server of multiplayer games a year or so after release, just so they can force the user base to buy the next game.

Mean while we have other developers like Valve, who keep supporting their games 10years after release.

The little differences EA does offer in their Sports games are hardly worth a purchase.

Heres something different i have been doing with Fifa 11 though:

Why not support fifa 11 and add in the improvements? oh wait this is EA lol.
