Careful though stuff bought off XBL this gen may not work on the next Console. On Steam though you are pretty much gauranteed BC for pretty much anything you buy. That assurity it self is a huge bonus in my view.
Theres 3 billy goats trying to cross your bridge, you really should be getting back to your post.
@Presto717
A PC gaming rig made right in 2006 will outperform any console today, what are you talking about?
8800gtx from 2006 was superior to Console hardware in every way. Yes that GPU can easily play Mass Effect 2 in 1080p 50-60fps, I hear the PS3 version is running at 25fps in 720p, so which is better then? oh and by the way the PC version was on sale for a mere 10usd.
Its not just about the hardware costs mate, you need to buy the ...
Valve and Blizzard are probably the most profitable developers in the entire gaming industry. Blizzards profits are mostly related to Wow.
While Valve has Steam going, its obvious they will support Steam over everything else. Consoles are more of an after thought. Its Steam where the real money is made and thats what Valve are going to continue to promote.
While those specs might be average they are still enough to run most of todays games at 1080p with max settings(mostly games which consoles struggle to play in 720p).
For the 5% games which are designed with future hardware in mind like Metro 2033, Users with a DX10 GPU can play it at Above console settings today and sometime later when they do decide to upgrade they may come back to enjoy the same game with even more eyecandy. With console even if your PS3 or 360 fails 3-4...
Lol lets stop pretending as if running uncharted requires a heavy amount of resources, if anything even a game like tombraider looks better then uncharted 2.
Ever cared to see all the low res texures uncharted 2 is filled with in places they dont want you looking or the fact thats its strictly a corridor game which requires very low resources.
I bet a 3-4yr old pc with a dedicated GPU of that time could easily run uncharted series in 1080p 60fps, somethin...
Console tech is just too old now. Keeping it as the lowest denominator just ensures powerful PC hardware is never used, unless the user decides to play on some crazy resolution like 5760*1080p (aka 3 sreens).
This should be a concern for AMD, Intel and Nvidia, people with 2-3yr old hardware already dont have a reason to upgrade.
Anything made within the last 3-4 years should play the game better then the PS3 or the 360.
PS3 & 360 versions will be very simular just like any multiplat out there. PC version though should be the obvious choice here just like any other multiplat.
@Spydiggity
Unlike Consoles where if a game doesnt sell in the first month it dies, On PC due to digital networks keeping the game alive it keeps selling.
Hence not only do games on PC have a larger margin of profit for developers they also have very long legs. Specially with the kind of discounts that DD networks throw it creates a spill over effect where people talk about a certain game and it causes further sales(specially for games which actually are ...
You mean the game with static environments, and has jaggies showing in 80% of its cars lol. I saw GT5 the game looks last gen at best. Games like Grid, Dirt 2, hell even NFS shift look better.
Lol console version without 3D is running in 720p at 25-30fps. With 3D it would probably be Sub hd with 20-25fps max.
@Deathstroke
So arent Killzone 2 & 3 just known for amazing graphics? except they look last gen in comparison to a 3 year old game like Crysis.
Clearly you have never played Crysis its a lot more then the standard console corridor shooter(which is the category KZ falls into as well).
There isnt a better FPS shooter out there.
Bought Darksiders of Steam for a mere 10usd. Guess it will be worth it.
Metro 2033, excellent story, gun play was a bit weak, graphics were simply the best of 2010(PC version).
"Notable Xbox 360 exclusives this past year included Halo: Reach, Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Alan Wake and Fable 3."
Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, were not exclusives. Fable 3 also will be out on PC.
Unless they ment console exclusive.
Well there always were more people playing this on PC then any other platform. Anyways a job well done.
Its pretty retarded actually. I am a X Wow player. This would totally gimp gameplay.
Trying to play FPS, RTS or MMOs with a controller is like trying to write with boxing gloves on. Mouse + KB all the way.
