While the comparison is dumb, console fans are overlooking one very important point, if games wont be pushing hardware. Which is the recent trend with most games out. They seem to run fine with 2-3 years old hardware since they are designed with consoles in mind first. All of us know how old console tech is.
Most games on current mid range hardware runs at 2560*1600 with 4x-8x aa, lets be honest here not many PC gamers will be using those resolutions. Most gamers will be at...
Racing games which get milked will suffer. I am talking about EA here.
Companies taking their time releasing a good product will always see sales. I loved Dirt 2, Grid specially running in eyefinity.

Cant wait for the sequels specially DX 11 version of grid will be awesome.
So why didnt they run the game in 1080p? if there was any juice left, or why not give it 60fps? or were they simply incapable or was it they yet want ps3 fans to wait for the next release until they utilise it all, or they could say the same garbage with the next release lol.
It certainly will out live any current console:P Its already outlived many Console gens and is by far the longest living gaming machine in history.
Well the PC version was the version to play. I heard Xbox had poor quality textures while good frame rate. Ps3 on the other hand had better textures but poor frame rate.
PC version had the best of both worlds, even my laptop with a GTX 260m could play the game maxed out in 1080p with above 60fps.
Also the PC version was alot more tactical then the console version, it offered alot more control.
Lastly PC version even offered mods, it was...
@suicideshaun
Got over 150 games on Steam alone. The games cost darn cheap compared to the console versions, and are mines to keep for a very long time since PC doesnt have BC issues and even when they do occur there always are work arounds most of the time. With console when they dont want you doing something most likely you cant. If they dont want you play Halo 2 online you just cant. If they dont want you playing PS2 games on PS3... well you will just need to go out buy ...
Thats the thing with PC gaming, you buy a game today, over time it keeps getting better. Once you buy on console its the same experience even 10 years later (that is if youc an still play it, since you probably wont be getting BC with the next box).
I remember i played Crysis 1 in 720p back when it released in 2007, then i 2009 i played it in 1080p maxed out. Again today in 2011 i am replaying the game almost maxed out with 2x AA in eyefinity (aka three screens) its freakin...
I have been saying it for a while now, Devs are greedy they just want maximum return on their games. Which leads to them designing games for the lowest denominator Consoles.
Its gotten to a point where PC gamers can play most games out today even on 3-4 yr old hardware. I think we will be arriving to the point very soon where people just wont need upgrades and that will end up hurting sales for Nvidia and AMD.
It should be a concern for AMD and Nvidia. If MOST games no longer require even mid range hardware, whos going to upgrade then lol?
I guess they are happy to be selling hardware at 5-7yr cycles, which about the time it takes for new consoles to appear. I surely wont be upgrading a thing on my pc until next consoles arrive.
These are simular comments to what Crytek was claiming before making a console game, now that we are getting closer to release we are noting that the differences will be vast.
Its quite obvious any developer will try hype their product for a platform they wish to enter.
Every multiplat out there should be played on PC. Its cheaper and superior. Unless the game has been really badly ported to PC.
Also with PC one tends to build a library which lasts for a long time, with console there is no gaurantee games bought today will work next gen. Then you have companies trying to charge you for HD remakes of games that you already bought. Except the PC versions you bought already ran in HD long time back.
Games actually sell very well on the PC, the author doesnt have a clue what he is talking about. The reason why PC gamers get shafted is because of corporate greed its an effort by these companies to get as many people on board consoles as possible.
Having the base on consoles means people are completely at the mercy of the developers and console makers. With PC people actually have the freedom to MOD games make the games live longer and have an insane amount of BC. With co...
Lol this Industry is pretty much stagnant, games dont advance the way they used to. It just means Nvidia and AMD pretty soon wont be seeing much business as people wont really be needing any upgrades.
They need to implement proper eyefinity support in game menus. Fifa 11 worked great ingame however the menus were kind of botched. For those wondering how the game looked on 3 screens :

Shows the entire field when you play, very helpful when playing specially with friends.
I guess the hardrive could be a limitation. Having an SSD in this case might be very useful.
Never tried recording with Fraps, however any quad core equipped with recent midrange(GTX 460, 5850, 6850etc) gpus can easily push over a 100fps in most games today @ 1080p. I dont see how much of a hit those systems can take while recording to make games unplayable.
No ones going to be paying for DLC once they pay for the 15usd a month.
WoW has the MMO market and if WoW isnt charging for the additional content they do provide then sorry no one can. People simply wont pay up. Asides the expansion packs WoW does have every odd year. WoW gives the user lots of updates (kinda like DLC) except its all free of cost.
Thought it was confirmed for a steam release though. even though it will be a gfwl title.
EA are making sure to do everything it takes to ensure people dont buy PC versions.
Hike Price.. check
Crappy port.. check
Consumer unfriendly DRM.. check
All this after bad company 2 sold so well on PC.
I dont think they have released mod tools for the game. They would rather sell DLCs. Its the reason why devs prefer forcing people onto consoles. Its easy to make console gamers buy DLC after DLC. PC gamers actually demand freedom to create their own content which extends the life of a game.
