@Ryudo

They got 3 platforms to develop for(PC, PS3, Xbox), thats over a 100million users.

Even if the game sales 5million units (which is low for 3 platforms combined), its still 250,000,000 million in sales (even if i take 50usd as average). that should be more then enough to make a good profit.

By charging higher prices they are infact encouraging Piracy, Second hand games and renting.

I think the reason people are Pirating & renting games is because the prices of games these days are crazy.

60usd for a 5-6hour game is insane. I think if the Devs actually reduced prices down to 40usd, they would actually see better sales, the second hand and rental market would take a beating.

Well we have to realise as well most of PC sales are digital, which means much more profitable then console versions. If Crysis 1 sold 3 Million on PC, thats solid figure Plus they used the same engine to make further sales with Crysis warhead. So thats 4.5million units overall not bad at all.

Ignoring that base, not giving them a Multiplayer beta or a demo is plain wrong.

Lol didnt buy MW2 or Black ops, though yea i am sure people will pay to play online in hordes, even if its still P2P on console.

Ill stick to TF2 & L4D2 :P

Its the only way to make a gaming library really fast and cheaply. One round of steam or D2D discounts and you can end up with as much as 10 games for a mere 100usd.

No way consoles can compete when it comes to how cheap PC gaming can be. Consoles being owned owned by large organizations need to cover all those costs just to stay avoid losses.

On another note anyone looking to make a library not only has it cheaper on the PC, it performs better and there ...

Yea but 95% of games released are multiplat anyways. While consoles may get those games, the experience is not the same as the PC versions:

Crysis 2
Dragon age 2
Battle field 3
Rage
Tombraider
Batman

Will all be different games on the PC. Hence even if a console release is there, it cant really be counted as a release since its not the same as PC version.

While cooperative (cross-platform) might be nice, competitive play against PC gamers with Mouse and keyboard advantage will be too much to overlook.

Also for competitive play to happen, They will need to implement Mods on the PS3 versions as well, because most of Valves games end up getting modded on the PC. Hence same support would have to be forwarded to the PS3 user base.

I wonder how Steamworks will work out for content where games have been modded.

I mean Left4Dead on PC has servers having 10 vs 10 matches. Where the more zombies you kill the more bandages and weapons you can buy, being a zombie you may buy specially Zombies or even a Tank lol.

I dont know if such stuff would make it across to the PS3, Unless both Sony and Valve agreed on Modding making its way through.

L4D is amazing man got over 200hours played on both L4D 1 and 2 combined. Valves constant support for the game is epic.

Yep they might be on console as well, but the PC experience is just miles better.

@Holyorangecows

Consoles themselves are a DRM, How are PS2 games working on the PS3 slim?

At the rate Sony is releasing HD remakes, i doubt they will give you BC for your current PS3 titles. Have fun paying for remakes on the PS4.

They need to make a yearly release, hence there is no quality test or any room for creativity, its the same game rehashed with some new maps and perks thats about it.

Left4dead 2 is almost the same game as left 4 dead 1. Why are you encouraging left 4 dead 3?

valve releases free map updates for left 4 dead 2 anyways (on the PC). Left 4 dead 2 on the PC can be had for 5 usd. Why are you inclined to pay 60usd for a left 4 dead 3 ps3 version?

Edit: constant rehashes are a console trend, we dont like such things on the PC platform, instead we would prefer a game gets supported like TF2 and Left4dead 2 currently are.

The PC player will get frustated due to the PS3 gamer being handicapped by controller.

Lol maybe when compared to the PS3, against PC not a chance.

Let us know when you have:

Free online,
Dedicated servers,
Community mods(better then paying for DLCs).

Nothing great about pushing a console to its limits, its still lagging behind 3-4 yr old PC hardware. Crysis 2 proves just that.

Jailbreaking your PS3, then downloading software may result in downloading a Virus. Which is why anyone even considering to Jailbreak the PS3 should reconsider.

5486d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Wont be suprised if pretty soon hackers have viruses written for the PS3, since people can now use Sonys own keys to sign any software.

People may soon be needing antivirus softwares on the PS3.
