Should include HD comparison with the PC version as well, plus PC version even offers mods. Lastly there is no gaurantee current remake bought on PS3 will work on the next box. A purchase on the PC pretty much gaurantees a long life for the purchase.
Its sad the trend current consoles have established in the market. Never had such crap when PC was the only online platform.
No wonder developers turn to dumping games down and taking away mod support, sell DLC day one is a win win for them. Console gamers only support this movement because they have no idea the same DLC maps they pay for, once used to be free via mods.
Its obvious they want to keep milking their current engine, why create a new one anyways when everyone will buy the game anyways.
Also people like how COD runs at 60fps on Console. Its the only first person shooter that runs at a smooth 60fps this is due to the game looking like last gen. If they were to create a new more demanding engine, the FPS would take a hit. They probably dont want to risk people not playing the game in 30 or so FPS on console.
Current gen was last gen when Crysis was released.
@peterdawa
I dont have a console of choice, it really isnt fun being limited to 5yr old tech.
Crysis 2 3D may fail on console where people have no choice and are at the mercy of the developer.
On PC things are different we have softwares like IZ3D, Tri Def which can be configured to change things very quickly. Not to mention the modding community.
Lol why would Valve want to make losses making a console, when they already are selling software worth near a Billion USD.
They already have a platform where people incur the initial burden of getting the hardware, all Valve has to do is give us a great service and profit on the software. Sony and Microsoft do the same except they make losses on hardware just to be able to make profit on software, now tell me why would Valve want to start making losses?
@pixelated_army
thats a very one sided fanboy based comment. How many good exclusives does Sony have? they surely arent enough to make you game on them all year long. Multiplats are the majority of games wether you like it or not.
You can always have a PS3 for the Sony exclusives no one is stopping you. Also even for the most extreme sony fanboys, its not like every game sony releases will cater to you. For example i like their uncharted series but thats ...
Lets not forget when Sony or Micrsoft sell games for a billion a much smaller portion of that sale actually makes it to the developer, because there are many costs involved with retail sales. Packaging, transportation, Damages, returns, advertisements.
With DD all of that is eliminated. Also with DD the developer gets their money very quickly after a sale is made. With retail the developer doenst receive anything until 3 months of the product having been picked of the shelf...
True retail doesnt have the 1000 game library online DD stores do have. If right now i wanted to purchase a 2-3 yr old game good luck finding it on retail.
I havent been to retail in 3years now. I have over 200 games on my steam list though, most of them were purchased cheaply on discounts. In fact i have such a large backlog of games from last Steam sales i wont be getting any new games until another discount round.
Rendering at 720p is no big deal, why call that insane?
Check out this weapon from Crysis, its more like a mini nuke:

Well any good laptop would generally cost you about 1000usd. I bought mine about 8 months back. At which time I7 2 cores 4 thread was high end. One without a good gpu would easily cost you between 1200-1400usd, this was basically needed for my work anyways. The only extra i paid to make sure this can run games was another 300usd. Laptop cost you 1700usd in total.
However now i dont have to buy any games for it, since i have so many games on my Steam list. When you account h...
I personally have a monster PC for my gaming needs its hooked up to 3 screens for a res of 5760* 1080. For my portable needs i have a gaming laptop sure its a bit expensive however it runs all games in 1080 60fps+ whats more i have over 200 games on my steam list. Every one of those is available to me when i am on the go. Plus the laptop comes with a HDMI port so at anytime if i am in a hotel where i have a tv which supports HDMI i can be playing on the big screen in full HD.
@A living Legend
You can pick up Witcher 2 for 36-45usd depending on DD outlet promotions etc.
The problem with games going console is, the developer tends to get greedy later on. Not only does the game end up becoming consolized and dumbed down, the games start coming up with no mod tools and they come with DLCs day one. Its a loss loss situation for the gamers.
Problem is Console gamers are used to this sort of treatment where they ha...
Its an awesome series and quite possibily the best looking RTS out there.
@rjgbyrne
Paying a premium to get a capable rig is a thing of the past. Yes you can make a 2000usd rig however those these days are for gaming on multiple screens with resoulitions 6-10times higher then the typical console game (eyefinity or nvidia surround), that sort of gaming is the rolls royce of gaming and for that you need to pay here is a link of a game like Dirt 2 running in eyefinity 5760*1080:
"Can someone please explain to me HOW TO CAPTURE HD SCREENS FROM A SUB HD GAME???"
For consoles its simple you wait until the next gen when they finally decide to give you a HD remake release(if ever). PC gamers can enjoy the HD version now(even on 3-4yr old hardware, which is pretty much next gen compared to any console).
Original Crysis looks awesome in DX9, its not a question of DX 11. Consoles simply lack the HP.
Lol you aint seen nothing if you havent seen racing games running in Eyefinity or Nvidia surround (its gaming on multiple screens):
Link to dirt 2 running on 3 screens check out the view on that:

Friend of mine picked up Tombraider underworld just for 7 usd too, IMO thats the real HD version running beyond 1080p the PS3 version of underworld is barely 720p, textures on PC are far superior too.
