They built an unbelievable world in Crysis 1 and it did sell very well, 3.5million as of may 2010, they got rewarded for it.
What they have done now is dumbed the game down. Taken away the open world, no customization of graphics, even basic features like AA are missing. I guess people deserve to try out the game before throwing 60usd Cryteks way. Funny how they are selling a stripped down game at 60usd, when the previous release which was superior was selling at 50usd.
Thats because games are designed with 6yr old console hardware in mind. The industry has been on a standstill since the last 5-6years. Since games are not progressing graphically system requirements are pretty much stagnant as well.
Well by the time BF3 is rolling out something faster will be on the horizon, hence he will always be waitiing then. I would suggest he builds it now if he plans to.
Its no longer the same game as the original, it was developed with consoles in mind.
1300 GBP is too much, you could build one very good one for 600-800usd, remember it can easily emulate the WII in 1080p along with every other console aside the PS3 and Xbox.
People always overlook that console games are expensive. in the long run gaming on PC is always cheaper.

No they dont, Linear gameplay doesnt equal to the open world from Crysis 1. Sure they got Crysis2 but its not the same experience as Crysis 1.

Guess where that console got its high tech from? it was left overs from previous gen PC hardware.
If PC wont be getting proper development, i can assure you people will stop buying hardware for it too. Companies like AMD and Nvidia will be trouble. The small business they do get from console wont be enough to keep them afloat.
Good luck relying on Sony or Microsoft to develop a competitive GPU part.

Agreed Metro 2033 took that award. However Nvidia is using Crysis 2 in their adverts and in that video to show of their next high end GPU. My point was a GTX 590 is unneeded for the game. Most people play at 1080p, their might be a small % which users 2560*1600 and even small base that actually uses multi screen for their gaming, @ 1080p any midrange card plays the game maxed out. If it was as open world as the first 1 and had better graphics i would buy the optimization argument. However dumping stuff down for it to work on lesser hardware maxed out does not = optimization. You cant even select MSAA in the game as it stands. By default the game has Blurry AA method, what sort of optimization is that?
7.5usd is a freaking steal.
Agreed theres so many linear shooters out in the market. Crysis 2 is just another one to the list.

Nothing to brag about the game gets maxed out buy a GTX 460. It runs in DX9 for crying out load. Who in their right mind would upgrade for this game lol.

Lol PS3 isnt being limited because of the 360. Sony fanboys are only looking for excuses why the PS3 version isnt anywhere close to PC version.
Its time a developer is actually making use of PCs, which is why the game is distancing itself from the console counterparts. Infact i would call BF3 on PC exclusive, since its a different game.

Well they can only charge what customers are willing to pay. If more games sell bad at 60usd they probably will consider options. Hence if you dont like the 60usd trend dont support it, wait out few months buy the game when its cheaper.

Though i dont understand why bump the PC prices to 60, no royalities there, and major business is DD. Selling a PC copy at 50usd @ DD is more profitable then selling a console copy at retail @ 60.
I am currently torrenting it too, i aint throwing away 60usd before i can get a glimpse of the single player experience. I wont be playing the MP anyways with the auto assist crap. I have TF2 for my MP needs and red orchestra coming up very soon.
