@Kleptic
I havent bought the game yet, i am waiting for a discount in 2-3 months when its only 10-20usd on steam.
however judging from the last Shift, it had many graphics options like the shadows, AA, blur, texture quality, filtering etc. This will probably be the same.
You can turn it off if you have the PC version, not sure about consoles though.
"doesn't shift 2 run at 30fps?"
Only on Console, ill be personally playing shift 2 on Nvidia surround 3 screens and still managing 100fps + @ 5760*1080 8x aa :P
For some of us that dont own a PS3, Shift 2 is a great alternative. I personally owned a PS2 GT3 was a great game i loved it and i am sure GT5 is great too however i think Shift 2 is a nice alternative.
Lol Deals on Steam make this look like a rip off.
Console gaming just is expensive when you look at the long run.
Lol true, Valve are PC devs first and with the sort of money they make on Steam, console development will always be an after thought for them.
Valve will support Steam just the way, Microsoft or Sony tries to support its platform. Hence Valve are not your usual developer that will get sold of to console development.
Yep defintely a 10-15usd pick up title, that too if you are low on games and dont have much to play which is rarely the case on PC.
They should be more creative in their approach. They should make DLC exclusive for a certain console in 1 release (aka hotpursuit for PS3), next release (aka Shift 2 make it for 360 only). PC gamers can be sidelined they can watch and laugh as both the console bases dish it out for something that previously used to be free.
The above approach will ensure much more DLC is sold as both console bases will feel their exclusive platform is getting exclusive support. No way a co...
I personally donated abit i would urge every TF2 gamer out there to do their bit.
Its not really Crysis, its merely using the name to milk the console base.
The open world was stripped down to a corridor shooter, the textures are half the size of the first game, its using a blurry AA method. Console gamers are told its optimization. Its nothing more then dumbing a game down to work on 5-6yr old hardware.
In the end its just COD with slightly better graphics, FPS has taken a hit due to this. Note how any first person shooter on Console ...
Atleast its not as low as 7800GTX (console hardware) like most games coming out today, and for some of us playing on 3 screens, we will need 3 times the horse power of a 4850- 4870 when running the game at 5760*1080. Which is where GTX580 sli or 6970 will be needed.
Bulk of the buyers are console gaming kids, until they wont have enough of the rehashes this wont stop. Niether will we see any progress. Problem is its a never ending cycle, there is no short supply of 10-14yr olds.
This will be freaking awesome :P easily GOTY contender.
Defintely getting it for the PC once its on a Steam or D2D discount. Bought Shift 1 after few weeks of release at 24usd, this one should be the same.
While PC version runs in full HD for most users for some of us who play on multiple screens PC version wins by miles.
Heres a link to NFS shift running on 3 screens, i personally played NFS shift in eyefinity, intend to do the same with shift 2.

Agreed its either Counter strike or TF2, both are really fun or you could try out red orchestra 2 when that roles out. L4D 2 is another good one.
Though these are all PC centric games. Consoles mostly stand responsible for dumbing down of the many genres with FPS its Auto aim, health regen etc.
TF2 enough said.
Personally i find KZ3 to be ugly with muddy textures. It has very linear game play as well just like the other PS3 exclusives.
@ratherhavabiggirl
Its arite mate fanboys are blind. Even if a multiplat looked life like they would still say oh ..... Ps3 exclusive looks better. Sony fanboys on this site are the worst.
Dont think anything comes close to Stalker COP complete as long as atmosphere is concerned.
It uses the following mod as part of the package:

Havent seen any game do weather like this.
True it wont, Every enthusiast out there that wanted to push their PC definetly bought Crysis 1.
Personally since Devs have stopped using PC hardware to its potential i have decided to stop upgrades too. Let AMD and Nvidia feel the pinch.
If they like us upgrading once every 4-5years instead of 2 due to consoles then so be it.
