I think it's safe to assume that Sony is invested in VR. The thing is, it's not only Sony. There's Google, Samsung, HTC, Facebook, etc. that are trying to push the platform. Even MS, though they don't currently have a headset, were selling the idea of the Scorpion as a means to play high-end VR games with Occulus support.
It's a different climate than the Vita, which was competing with the DS and the emergence of the tablet/smartphone games. They competed, but on...

Imo, it has very little to do with limitations. VR is, at this point, niche tech and there are risks involved with developing for it. That will scare some devs away from it. PS4, on the other hand, has proven it's worth thus far (to developers). If they want to get some of that money, it makes sense to be attracted to the console that has the current sales lead.

More likely at TGS. But, I still think that there will be some new stuff for PGW.

Who cares? Sony for one. Also, as a Playstation gamer, this is good news that Sony is establishing themselves as a market leader. Why? Money. The more units sold means that they are expanding their userbase and potential sales...leading to revenue. That revenue, in turn, can be used to bring more games. Not too long ago, there was a question as to whether Sony could even survive this gen financially. (though it was a pretty silly assumption) Now, they have positioned themselves not only to su...

So, not very much new info on Marcus. At any rate, this game interests me because they seem to have built on the first one in terms of mechanics. (one of the things that I thought the first was pretty good at) Expanded hacking opens up a whole new experience for the game. The graphics of the first were solid. I feel like, had we not seen the insane 2012 target, we would have been pleased with them as a launch window game for new hardware. I even came to grips with the driving. The shooting me...

That's why he needs to speak up. If everybody took that approach with mega-corporations, they would never be held accountable. Just because someone gives you a million dollars it doesn't make them infallible or beyond reproach.

EDIT: One million or one hundred million SHOULDN'T be able to buy silence. (though it often does) Point being the same.

Not always. That's the way it SHOULD be. But often, especially in more polarizing topics, disagree do tend to slant a bit. (much like how the bubble system used to get slanted) It's the nature of the beast. Fanboys can and will highjack a comment section. Doesn't always happen. But, it's obvious when it happens. (not even saying that it happened here)

Because they KNOW that it will stoke the flames of fanboys that won't take the time to actually read it and discern exactly what he's saying. As soon as they see the headline, it's off to the comments section to question his credibility and motives. Happens all the time.

It just proves to be yet another viable option for gamers to experience. The only "edge", imo, is personal preference. Some don't want anything on their face or head. Some don't want to be bothered with having to walk to play a game. Some will like both. Some want to just play in a traditional way. It's all options. It's not like AR is new. It's just new that they combined it with a franchise that prints money ans made it more accessible by putting it in the mobi...

Well said! The internet has created stars in a universe that's not lacking in them.

What if it were...soccer??? Lol I get what you are saying. I think a lot of it boils down to the Us vs. Them mentality that we see in just about everything. It's redundant and pedantic and in no way really constructive, but that won't stop us (generally) from taking part in it.

It's also Psychology 101 to be defensive about it because you are now part of the "in" crowd. (Not saying that is what YOU are doing) Psychology is funny that way.

You said it much more eloquently than I cared to. But, "no one cares if you like Pokemon Go" is just as rational and relevant of a statement as the author is trying to make. Simply, play what you like...or don't. But, don't talk trash either way. Live and let live.

The issue is that the algorithm that determines this is linked to Google maps in a way that doesn't recognize what the site is, only that it is an important site. So, you have places like the Holocaust museum and Arlington Cemetery being spots to catch Pokemon. They've already stated that they will remove any spots where the proprietors have an issue. Let's just hope, until then, that Pokemon hunters exercise a bit of judgment.

That's why all of this tech talk is out. The masses really don't do the research. Mostly, they just gravitate toward whats popular and trendy among their peer group and really don't know what they are getting and why. As long as they can say that they have the "best". I will guarantee that there will be people jumping all over these consoles without the proper setups to get the actual value. It's no different than the people who upgrade phones yearly JUST to get a ne...

To add to what everyone else is saying, it takes resources to move from planet to planet and system to system. You pretty much need those resources to open paths. You'd have to open the path from one entire galaxy to the next, and next, and next, etc. That's a difficult proposition in and of itself. Then, trying to get to that specific planet and that specific place on an actually planet sized planet is yet another task. In the end it's possible, much in the same way that finding ...

We still haven't seen everything yet. They have been showing of the toolbox to draw their core (content creators) into the game. As for some sort of narrative to tie it in, they are keeping quiet. About all that we know is that you can create dreams (individual scenes) These dreams can contain portals that lead to other dreams. These dreams can be yours or other peoples. Sculpting (DS or Move) seems very intuitive and there are a crap ton of options. But, if you aren't creative, you&#...

Or..."Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth so help you..""Umm, I gotta walk down the hall real quick...you know judge just like you, I gotta catch them all!"
Judge proceeds to call a recess while secretly loading up the game. The prosecution and defense don't care because they were trying to figure out a way to get down the hall as well.

@sammarshall102...If you are looking for VR to replace traditional gaming right now, then you are looking at it wrong. Right now VR is meant to be an augment to traditional gaming. It's meant to provide a new way to experience current games and offer a glimpse of what the future of VR can be. Just imagine for a second if we looked at home videogames the same way when Pong released. Nobody envisioned, at that time, that it would grow to this point. But, someone had hope and took the risk t...
