So, you can assume it's not. There's not communication needed unless something changes. Plus, I would suspect that lawyers have probably told them not to speak about that until everything is ironed out. It's a tricky situation, if there is any truth to the issue, because they expose themselves to liability if they release. But, they also look pretty guilty if there is a sudden delay after going gold.

IIRC, there was an NPC shown that was different than this one. It was one of the extended play videos that was shown months ago. That being said, these videos are bite-sized highlights of stuff that we've seen. They are just focusing in on each aspect. So, I'd agree that these don't put the last trailers to shame. More so, they put them in the proper perspective.

Understood you just fine. The very fact that you can communicate this well in a second language is commendable. I've been exposed to 3 other cultures and their languages (living in each one for several years), and took another in school, and I'd be a mess trying to actually communicate in any other than English. Keep it up.

On topic: I hope that Nintendo knock it out of the park with this system. It's much needed balance for the industry and some of their exclu...

I am actually just as excited for watching what others discover as I am to see what I can find. It's a unique thing to see what kind of flora and fauna others might find...and what behaviors they exhibit. That alone will keep me engaged for a bit of time.

Murray has said, in several interviews, that one of he tenants of the game is survival and that feeling of being alone not only on a vast planet, but seemingly in a universe. He's also said that they hadn't ruled out some sort of MP completely. But, they wanted people to experience their original vision for the game before changing anything.

And Xbox fans that have been claiming that resolution and framerate differences didn't matter will be bragging. It's the endless cycle of the console wars. No group of fans (specifically fanboys) is immune from these comparisons.

If this is a valid claim, it shouldn't strictly be about the formula or algorithm itself. It should also be about the application of the algorithm. The question should revolve around a couple of things, imo. Is this superformula a natural extension or exposition of the original work done in the 1800's? Did Hello Games copy it verbatim or is the formula that they use a completely altered version? How close, in implementation, is the use in NMS to the use laid out in the patent applicat...

What you said (long text wall) is pretty true. I was thinking more simply along the lines of extending the narrative of Joel and Ellie vs. new narrative. I think an interesting aspect of their relationship is how Joel, the older one supposedly set in his ways, does a LOT of changing and soul searching to find his redemption. That would be difficult to upset. However, there's still some interesting wiggle room for Ellie and her development. IMO, while she was the perfect mirror for Joel to...

It's a combination of both. Investors were excited about the proposition of Nintendo to the mobile market and Pokemon Go is proving, at least in the short term, to be a successful venture.

Not to mention that it's fiscally impractical and almost physically impossible to do so. As you said, wall doesn't keep them from coming. They'll just find a way to get around it. Illegals are a secret (not really) source of cheap, expendable, exploitable work for several parts of the economy. (mostly service and agriculture) Whether the country wants them or not, those economies love them. The economy, in general, loves them because they put a lot of their money back into it. ...

@Aenea
The thing about patents is that they are highly specific. For instance, pharm companies patent their formulas all the time...until someone applies an innocuous chemical analogue on the end and names it something new. By rhar extension, if Hello Games has a heavily modified version of the superformula, is it actually the superformula anymore? Is it a natural extension of the previously existing Lame Curves? Can we just start patenting versions of Pythagoras and Euclid, because ...

There are a couple of options. They could continue the tale of Joel and Ellie in a not so perfect world, picking up pieces, still fighting to survive the NEW unknowns. (fungal mutations rendering a cure useless, only certain people in society able to get said cure, gov. oppression/suppression, etc.)
The other option is to actually take control of the outbreak as other characters. One thing that The Walking Dead has proven, there's no shortage of f'cked up narratives during an...

You can't copyright a math formula or algorithm. But, it can be protected if it is given protection as a patent (which would require it to be part of a "business process" or prove to have practicality) or as a trade secret (requiring proof that it's essential to business and that NDA's are issued appropriately).
There have been many sports analytics formulas that have been putting this idea to the test recently. One group will "modify" another formula...

I laughed at the idea of "discovering said planet and all it's lifeforms" being written as if that will be an easy task. But, you are right. Any game concept can be boiled down to a minimum. It's the nuance that makes each game what it is. Otherwise, we're all just pressing buttons...and how fun is that? 🙂
