Probably wasn't meant for "kiddies" anyway. Much like LA Noire, it was a more mature undertaking. The "whore" wasn't a person, but the corrupt city of Shanghai in the 1930's.

The title refers to the city of Shanghai and the corruption of the 1930's and not an individual person. This game was to take place amidst all of that.

You can still play, but won't get to see the full benefits of the 4k, unless devs use the extra power not for 4k but for higher framerates and 1080p. (as long as your tv supports 1080p)

If you can hold off, I would shocked if there weren't a price drop announced along with the Neo. Plus, the holiday sales should get you a decent discount IF there's no official one.

This is the slippery slope that some people feared with this mid-gen plan, and it makes sense. Why pay for something that will be bested by another iteration in a couple of years? My hope (against hope) is that this doesn't become a trend and is simply a response to the unique nature of last gen. (which dragged on for 2 years longer than normal) Either that, or provide the option day one for a high end option and a more consumer friendly option. Other than that, I can see some people maki...

Familial conflict is a very important aspect of the Greek tragedy construct. It's meant to be a constant reminder and try to keep the reader grounded as the tales trail off into godlike feats and seemingly inhumane decisions. GoW does an excellent job of keeping this intact.
I suspect that, as you hinted at, this particular part of the game is showcasing the chance for Kratos himself to reconnect with his humanity after seemingly lost so much of it in the quest for revenge. But, ...

Maybe that's why it doesn't connect with you? You "grew up" playing the previous games. Team Ico's games are as much about the emotional journey as the gameplay itself. If you weren't emotionally mature enough to feel that, then you missed a whole part of the experience. Or, maybe they just didn't resonate with you.

Of all the reasons, I would take the last 2 as the only ones to be really worried about. Comparison to the MOVE denotes a fad. The difference being, this is a MUCH larger undertaking than some controllers. So, they are less likely to abandon it. Also, the risk is a concern. But, that's a concern anytime you delve into a new area. The thing that somewhat mitigates that is that Sony isn't going it alone. (except on consoles) I believe that all of the VR companies are trying to combine t...

I don't know about saying "this is why I bought a PS4). But, when I loaded up Infamous Second Son and just looked around at everything, I knew that I was indeed in a different generation.

EVERY market is "untested" before someone takes a risk. This time, unlike the Virual Boy, it's more than one company pushing the tech. Several high profile companies have invested heavily in the future of VR. Who knows if it will catch on. But, they are definitely pushing it as hard as they can both in gaming and outside (where we forget that there could be massive benefits)

Supposed to be available at some retail stores to try out...on the standard PS4. I've yet to see one, but that's what I heard anyway.

What they are presenting is kinda like blu ray. It is supposed to be the cheapest way to achieve 4k gaming. At least, I think that's the general idea...it's the next "it" thing in TV's and monitors. A PC doing the same wouldn't likely be in the range of $600. (or would it? don't know for sure) So, I'm thinking that they would feel pretty "good" if they could come in at or near that upper limit. Sure, it's pushing it. But, according to them, it&#...

But, being a premium, high-end piece of tech, MS isn't aiming for everybody. Neither is Sony with the Neo. These are meant for the hardcore tech heads that know what they are buying and won't mind spending a bit extra for high end experience. It's akin to the elite controllers. They aren't priced at a point for everybody. But, hardcore gamers are willing to pay for a better experience.
My bet would be $100 more than the highest priced Xbox S. That let's them achi...

This is the first time that I have EVER heard anyone complain about NOT having the awkward dev presentations of games! Other than seeing their faces, there's very little added bonus of them being onstage. The actual thing that you focus on is the gameplay, which we were able to see without the banal chatter. It's not always horrible. But, it's definitely not a disappointment not to have it.

The thing is, this isn't about "poor graphics". This is a particular art style. Team Ico has used this particular, minimalistic aesthetic for 2 other games. Fanboys (from ALL consoles) are the ones that get into pissing contests about another console's graphics. Fans (of games) can appreciate a game for the sum of what it is. If TLG fails to deliver as a total project, THEN there will be a problem.

@dcbronco...NOTHING in my comment suggests that this is a...

It's possible to criticize BOTH games for separate issues. Some people expected more from Scalebound than what they've seen (not just Sony fans either) and some people will be upset with the apparent lack of extra shine on TLG after a prolonged development cycle. Criticism doesn't have to be exclusive OR comparable to be valid.

They'll do what they do EVERY year. Give updates on the high profile games that we haven't seen in awhile and add a couple brand new IP to the mix for future consideration. Sony just uses E3 to gain momentum for he future of the console. If you follow their E3 conferences for more than one year, you have good idea as to what is coming soon and what's down the road.

Sony didn't decide to not announce the Neo because of Scorpio. In fact, they were pretty surprised that MS announced so early. If rumors are correct, MS decided to add the Scorpio into it's conference at the last minute. As for being laughed at, are you suggesting that they fear the power of Scorpio? I'd say they are pretty comfy with the stellar showing that they had at E3 and knowing that these consoles will make up a small percentage of overall console sales. They aren't de...
