These ideas are mutually exclusive. You don't have to respect them as a person. However, especially at a memorial, you probably SHOULD have respect for their sacrifice. Soldiers give up much of what the draw of this country is to protect it for others. They give significant chunks of their life. Some personal liberties are often checked at the door to serve. (you don't necessarily choose where or how you serve...or what you get commanded to do) Happiness, though subjective, has to be ...

The arrogance of youth. Trust me, life will teach it's lesson and they will calm down.

The disc is NOT basically a demo. The PS+ version was closer to a demo. I didn't get the season pass and there's still a nice amount of content for an "arcade" racer. (wasn't meant to compete with 500+ cars for Forza or GT). The weather was basically just an added patch. There weren't any added tracks to the DLC, they mostly created different challenges in the form of championships.
If you can get it cheap (I paid $20) it's actually very much worth it. T...

I can see where the hybrid nature of the game could turn people off. It was a bit too demanding for it to be just an arcade experience, but they didn't turn up the physics and include the customization options for a sim. But, IMO, for fans of racing, it was a pretty easy adjustment and added enough demand to keep it a challenge (and sometimes a frustration). Plus, with people being so familiar with them for Motorstorm, there might have been some extra expectations. Taking it at face value...

Nah...it would exist...it just wouldn't have been finished. Though, I suspect that EA might have been playing the low risk high reward game in getting MS to chip in. New IP, new gen is pretty risky. But, add MS to the equation, and it becomes almost no risk and all reward.

To be fair, at least with Titianfall, you are comparing PS4 only sales to the sales of it on Xbox One, PC, and 360. Streetfighter V is a KNOWN incomplete game and it's in a genre that has become more niche in the last 2 generations. We won't know about Tomb Raider until it's released. Halo remains a beast!

Overall I DO get your point...fanboys brag. But, that's their nature. We can chose to ignore it or we can engage in the silly pursuit of trying to convinc...

I think EA is projecting 10-12 million. The low end being just about what you are predicting.

Seems like an odd title. (at least to me) If you truly learned before, and you repeat the same mistakes, what did you learn the first time? Maybe they finally learned from mistakes that they made before???
After reading, it seems that Bach is saying that he had HOPED that they learned from lessons in the past and couldn't see (while imbedded in the heat of everything) that they hadn't. Kind of a hindsight being 20/20 situation.
Either way, MS has come a long way fro...

Who knows. However, it might provide new options for those that want to do something different and don't have the team size or budget to pull it off. There are already games that use procedural generation (in part) for certain aspects. But, devs tend to not like the "lack of control" over the results. What this game seems to show, if anything, is that you can apply rules on top of the procedural rules and gain some of that control back. Then, it becomes directed and instructed.....

It really is a pretty phenomenal game, especially in what it achieves technically. They couldn't find a way to push it to 60 fps in their first attempt, but I'm sure that what's left of the studio will continue with the engine. Dynamic reflections, lighting, and shadows, and actual physics results on a particle are just some things that the engine pulled off. The choice of being a "hybrid" racing experience was chosen and not a restriction if the engine. Even the biker e...

Going further back than that, it was EA (before EA Sports...and I think only on PC) that had a football game that was completely first person. It was around 1987 or 88. You only played as the receiver, where you had to run precise routes by counting steps and then flick the joystick for your hands to reach out for catches. You'd play RB, but that was more natural. On defense, I believe that you would be assigned a blitzer or zone man and then it would switch to whoever the ball was thrown...

NMS isn't the same as Minecraft. The thing that they do share is their open structure. The goals are there, but the direction that you take to get to them are solely your own desires. This isn't Minecraft in space, it's Don't Starve expanded to a universal level. It's a survival game where you fight, trade, and explore in order to make progress. But, if you want, you can focus on which ever pillar you like...or not.
I DO agree that this game could be the start of...

Just like anything else, if you don't find the value to be worth $60, then don't pay that. Wait for a sale. IMO, that's not "bait & switch" because they have never switched to anything. They showed a product. Then, they put their value on it. Just because your value perception doesn't match theirs doesn't make it a "switch". It just means that you don't want to pay that much. (which is fine...I don't either!) With all of the videos, intervie...

I was watching the GDC 2015 conference where the lead art director was speaking and you basically said what other artists told him about procedural generation. It's not intimate. It has limits within the algorithm. But, as he said, they are a team of 10 people and it would take many more resources and more years to create exactly what he wanted. So, he conceded on the idea of working within the constraints of their algorithm and add "rules on top of rules" to get the most out of...

While I believe it was designed to attract new customers, they KNEW that a small segment of the population would have to have the new console...even if the gains were marginal. There are people that just have to have the "best". The mid gen upgrades, while truly boosting performance, will sell on the same mentality. It seems that generations have gone from spending $400 once (twice or more if you are unlucky...or less if you have to have a slim), to looking at the low end of $800+ f...

Sure, it's not the be all and end all of a console. Names, and their associations, evoke subconscious responses. "Stronger" names connote an idea of strength and power. There's often an explanation for why a name was chosen (though usually later in a products life) and most of that surrounds some philosophy of the company, brand, or the product itself. I think that the idea behind the name Wii was whimsy. It's a cooky, silly name to go with what was supposed to be a fun ...
