You might have both consoles...but the PS3 seems to be the step-brother of the 2 in your book. No problem with that opinion...just appears that way to me. That being said, IF there was a problem with the mic's clarity...it is due to the individual settings and NOT the mic. I DO agree that mics should be packaged in. But, there is no guaranty that ALL PS3 users will use them. I have been in games like Warhawk and SOCOM, where mics were packed in, and people have them turned on...but STILL don'...
"They're Pinky....they're Pinky and the Brain...Brain...Brain...Brain. ..Brain..."---fade to laugh out loud cartoon hilarity!!!
pretty much hits a major title or two EVERY year. It's nothing new to the industry. It actually makes perfect business since for a company that has been taking a beating financially (mostly because of the unstable worldwide economy) to save a money printer like GT5 to include in the financial projections for 2010. Plus, being grown comes with the added characteristic of patience. My life doesn't revolve around a gaming release schedule. So, when it comes out...I'll be purchasing day one...unt...
I understand your logic...but how is this extra month gonna add ANY additional scrutiny for a game that has already had a 5+ year development cycle??? I don't see this delay as related to the game, but probably (as someone mentioned) for fiscal and financial concerns. Plus, as long as it brings the USUAL GT quality...which I have NO DOUBT...since Prologue was great enough! They really just need to be consistent as a dev house. When thinking about PD...when's the last time that they dropped th...
Just kidding. I never thought I would see this much craziness over one lone bloggers opinion of consoles. But, I guess something has to keep the console war going...right!?!? Maybe not!!!*LOL*
Pretty much everybody I know at least has a bluetooth headset...but for some reason...there are a LOT of people that don't know that you can use it with the PS3! For that matter...you can probably pick up an old copy of Warhawk WITH a headset for like $25-$30...great game...great mic!!! It's really that easy. But, like you said...if they wanted to talk...they have the means.
They don't have to custom vinyls and paint work that Forza has. You can buy rims, do extensive customization of the car in terms of tuning. If you are looking for matte pant jobs and a racing stripe...GT5 won't have that...unless the car that you purchase comes with that. GT5 is about the experience of driving...conquering those dayum license tests...and the pure addiction of collecting cars. Kinda like Pokemon...gotta catch em all....but much, much more fun in my opinion.
I was in the private beta...which we know took forever to download completely. Anyway, I finally got in the game...and of course...I was completely lost. Didn't know ANY controls. Didn't know what was going on in the game. Just kinda running around and shooting people. I died many, many times. I ended up playing for about 45 minutes and just kinda labeled it mediocre. Then, it occurred to me that I felt bound to the devs for actually including me in the beta...so I went back in. I spent 2-3 h...
Killcount really isn't as important in MAG...unless you are attacking or defending an objective that was set by the squad leader. You can rack up major XP simply by being near a squad leader and following orders. It's really that easy. Plus, the bonus is that the squad leader should have some "area" perks that are given to those around him. It's pretty cool actually. You really need more time to get the true flow and understand WHY you are taking certain objectives or defending and ...
People complain about it...A LOT!!! But, as you stated...it is simply another OPTION!!! I don't visit HOME on a daily...weekly...or even MONTHLY basis...but when I DO take the time to go in there. I ALWAYS have a fun time. It's like a chat room...but with distractions all around. I applaud Sony for trying to do something different and unique. It STILL has ways to go. I don't know if it will EVER leave the stage of BETA. However, I DO think that it was WELL worth the effort. Many of my friend'...
For all of the fear of the reds winning the cold war....crack hitting the streets....the economy being in a state of flux (Reaganomics)....my safe haven was always 80's entertainment. As a kid...I was the child of a teacher...therefore the LAST to get "trickled down" to. But, I NEVER felt like I was without. The 80's was escapism at it's best! From gaming (on an Intelevision and Commodore 128 D) to Kool Rock Ski (tha Fat Boys are back...)...Duran Duran....to Gimme A Break...it was A...
got my crew on standby....fat laces in the shoes...parachute pants...and my Unique Rock Steady Breakers windbreaker....let's do this!!!*LMAO*
Florescent colors...pastels on men...men with better hair than women...parachute pants....off the shoulder sweaters on girls....Coca-Cola gear....docksiders as dress shoes....NO SOCKS....Kangaroos--the track shoe with a pocket...Ocean Pacific (OP for those in the know)...finally....RELAX t-shirts everywhere...that was stylin'!!!*LOL*
There was just something special about 80's entertainment. Movies, cartoons, videogames, even the music had such a unique quality about it. It seems like now...it is just the bandwagon mentality. Whatever sells...we will copy, print...and make more money off of it. Can you imagine a show like the A-Team trying to make it in today's reality obsessed TV world. What about Alf?? Mork and Mindy??? They would probably be taken off within 4 episodes...stating some corporate bs about not being believ...
but striking might not be the best thing for any employee in this economy. You are playing with a deck HIGHLY stacked against you, unless you are lead programmer or designer. I have 2 friends that were both sacked from EA (one was at Tiburon testing the Madden games and the other was testing an unreleased music title). The conditions were quite the same. 10-12 hours "on the clock" and lord knows how much more that couldn't be logged due to overages in overtime allotments. Plus, the ...
Come now...I know you are not going to use THAT as an argument to abandon the PSP!?!?! You and I...and probably everybody that reads any of this...realizes that the PSOne was at the end of the 10 year life cycle when Sony stopped support for it. It was never abandoned. The PSP is doing fine...despite what people might think. They have taken a 50 million unit chunk from Nintendo...the ones that pretty much drove everybody else out of the handheld market. Oh...and this is the FIRST generation f...
I will be big enough to say that MS has done a hell of a job in this generation. They have managed to carve a nice piece of the gaming dollar for themselves. They have managed to create a flagship title that now is a "must have" for generations to come. However, they still need to become more diverse in the genres that they offer. THEY need more 1st party stuff...marginally better multiplats can't keep them in the race for too much longer. They need to make sure that they don't aban...
Hutch...MS might have made 8 billion in profits...but NONE of that came from the games division. It has been struggling since the inception of the original Xbox. Between R&D on a new system, purchasing of the studios that they DID go after, and the "issues" that have had to be addressed with the 360...MS as a game division is still in the red.
Jamie...it is estimated that the RROD issue could end up costing MS as much as 3 billion dollars by the end of this year. ...
I was thinking the same thing. When considering the "selling power" of a particular game, it IS important to remember what is already out on the market. The reason that Halo Reach and Gears don't have a higher number is exactly what you said. Are there really that many people that are waiting until the 3rd Gears and 4th Halo (if you include Wars) before they finally buy a 360? Whereas, there are many fans of God Of War that haven't had a next gen version until GoW III (not counting ...
that all 3 console companies have MAJOR R&D going as we speak. Just like in the cold war (if you can relate to that), there was ALWAYS some new piece of technology sitting in the rafters waiting to shock the world. I just hope that they don't abandon the core gamers for that cash cow that is the casual market.
