The majority of reviewers have stated that if you enjoyed the way that Indigo Prophecy played (the gameplay mechanics), then you will love Heavy Rain. This is because they have been able to refine the experience and expand the story. If the flow of the dialog from IP didn't bother you, then I can't see how Heavy Rain can be worse. The story seems more personal and engrossing than IP because of the focus on the serial killer and each characters struggle to deal with his (the origami killer) ef...
With that same logic Mario Cart and Gran Turismo are both racing games. Totally different, but they race. It is not just as simple as them both being thrillers. It has MORE to do with them being in the same fiscal cycle and being on competitive consoles.
But, I have to say that it is this kind of thinking that keeps innovative games like this from releasing on a constant basis. The devs need to be rewarded for taking this type of risk with a game. I fully understand that money is an issue. Especially, with the fact that each console has a heavy-hitting lineup. I would say that if you have interest get the game. It doesn't have to be day one. Just support those developers that are willing to create and innovate and not just regurgitate.
your lame attempts to troll once again. I'd say try both games and compare the number of glitches...then come back and have an INFORMED opinion. If not...just continue your path to becoming the ultimate douche. Either way...no more attention from me!
I actually got out of my own APC after it was parked for about 10 seconds. As soon as I tried to move...I was killed! All but one of my suicides are from this small issue. It doesn't happen every time, but when it does...it sucks. Far from the myriad of glitches present in other games...but still needs a quick fix!!!
This game embodies the term "under the radar". It was a pretty decent first effort. But, it looks like the dev team has ramped up everything that was even remotely fun about the first title and provided some interesting tweaks to make it that much more fun. Probably be my most anticipated "sandbox" style game until Yakuza 3.
That wallpaper IS pretty hot!!! Nice job!!!
the ulterior motive from this article was basically this. Looking at his predicted responses...this type of fanboy outcry was expected. I find it funny and somewhat pathetic that people are up in arms over a simple silly commentary that was obviously meant to spark such a response. Fanboys are like Pavlov's dogs!!!*L*
That is why you have more PS3's available??? You know....ship more to larger cities with more people. All that I know is that there is some validity to the shortage of the 120 GB PS3 Slim....other units seem to be readily available. As for the rationale that this is the reason for the NPD numbers...who knows...and honestly I don't care.
Directives just puts you where you are "needed the most". Basically, wherever your faction is down the most...or there are the least players from your faction. That is where you go. So, it can't really count players until it places you in that particular match.
However, I have been to several different stores (3 Wal-Marts, 3 Targets, 5 GameStops, 2 Sears, 3 K-Marts, and 3 Best Buys) and have come up empty on the 120GB PS3 Slim. I have been able to find a couple of the 250 GB Slims and 2 40 GB refirbs (GameStop)...oh and an 80 GB unit at Micro Center. So, there are some units...just not the one that seems to be popular at this time. (120 GB PS3 Slim) I can be patient because I already have one and this is a gift for my nephew...but I didn't even anti...
You should probably go back and check out Indigo Prophecy...it was a pretty unique game in it's own right. Probably get it dirt cheap too!!!
I believe that the ideas in MAG (256 player count, command structure, team atmosphere) would be suitable for the 360. Especially saying as though they have this ready made community on LIVE. Most people have a dedicated group of friends and could find at least 4-8 players to help fill a squad. It's a shooter and we know that is part and partial to the 360 demographic. Had this not been exclusive, I don't think we'd be having this discussion. More than likely fanboys would be arguing over whic...
Just wanted to comment a bit on your second point. I have played MAG in the 3 betas and currently own the game. Trust me when I say that the lone wolf players will assimilate faster than you think. Reason? Experience!!! As soon as they see a player with 2 kills and 15 deaths ahead of them in XP they will get the point. Might take one game or ten, but they all come around. In fact, it's pretty easy to tell who is new to the game because they try and do the lone wolf thing. Then, they start ask...
Actually, these are suggestions as to how to improve the balance of an already good game. I, for one am glad, that Zipper will continue to listen and improve the experience with tweaks. Especially in the days of devs putting a short term "fix" on a larger issue (like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound).
I don't mind too much that I get sniped by LMG's...but in close quarter combat there can't be an innate advantage in weapons. Especially when the numbers matter so much on attack. That, in combination with the placement of the bunkers on Domination maps, makes SVER difficult to beat with any consistency. It's a shame when you celebrate ONE singular victory like you have just won the war...but that's what happens. On any given night...I get one to two victories over SVER in domination in a 3-4...
you are a TROLL...and sad one at that!!! Can you be any more unoriginal?
Agreed 100% I also played with each faction during the 3 beta phases. Maxed each out (lvl 40 during the beta) and found SVER to be the most powerful. Not only is there a defensive advantage, but their guns are literally stronger. I have gone head to head with myself having the advantage of the first couple of bullets and STILL have been killed (not by headshot either). That being said, I also play for FUN and challenge. I play as RAVEN as well...and it IS a challenge. I think that once some o...
MAG really warrants communication. In fact, I would say that it is KEY to any success in the larger games. It is almost impossible, regardless of skill, to defend an objective without it. I just wish that they could have worked a SOCOM deal and got the headsets into the retail release, thus insuring that ALL players at least have a headset. That being said, I haven't been in one group that hasn't had at least 3-4 of the 8 with mics. Maybe I have been lucky. Or, maybe people are realizing that...
There is some self-interest in a statement like that. But, wouldn't you be just as passionate about a project in which you spent the tireless effort to perfect. (even if possibly not perfect) Would you rather he come out and say that it will have no effect on the industry and be a shining example of mediocrity?
The movie industry is a billion dollar market. That doesn't mean that movies are any better than they were 50 years ago. The music industry rakes in cash hand over foot, but is ...
