You can upgrade, acquire, and change ships depending on your needs. Some have more cargo space, some are just faster in terms of space travel, and some come with more of an arsenal. I have watched several vids and I believe that there were "missiles" in one. But, he hadn't gathered enough resources to turn them on.

With 18 quintillion choices, I doubt that you will have to defend too much. But, you could go the pirate route and choose a small system of planets to rule over, destroying anybody that comes toward the space stations. Although, those "people" will be more likely than not to be NPC traders. But, that will definitely lead to battles like what was in the video...and worse.

Or, just a thought, they are deciding what's best for them...you know...as a business. You might not like the way they do their business, but it's theirs.
This may very well have to do with them wanting a clear idea of when the game might be "finished". With all the additions, changes, and monetization strategies being "fluid" in terms of Ark, Sony might just want a more clear picture. Or, maybe they are just waiting for the inevitable release this "...

You have to crawl before you can walk. VR, at least in consumer "friendly" form, is brand new. So, the devs are just really coming to grips with the idea of it and what might be possible. That means there are going to be some successes and some failures in terms of those experiences. You are expecting further generation content from what is essentially a first generation for VR. That's akin to expecting Uncharted from the PSOne. It's going to take some time and patience to r...

Yes...it's a "walking simulator"!/s
I've said before, if people don't know then they are being willfully ignorant or trolling.

That was pretty cool. I really like the fact that the enemy ship actually tried to "bug out" by heading to the surface. I actually watched a video where it was the opposite. The person being attacked headed to the surface, jumped out of his ship, and hid in a cave. He scoured the planet for resources, upgraded his ship's cannons, and when he headed back out...they attacked again.

Twitch just follows the wishes off devs and publishers. There are some that don't mind their games being streamed early. Then, there are some that do. Plus, rumor had it, that the devs had planned a huge, blow out stream on Monday with giveaways and such...like a community event. Early streaming might have killed that. Though, if I were Hello Games, I'd still do it. At any rate, Twitch has relationships with devs that allow these types of things which are mutually beneficial. So, they...

Been an issue with the tagging system since the site update. I think Abriel said something along the lines of it tagging all consoles and you having to go back and remove irrelevant tags.

Agreed. Just knowing that everything that you see comes from a seed of source code is amazing....especially for a 10 man team. Plus, it's very interesting to watch the algorithm unfold. The crazy thing is that it can be expanded upon just by adding/changing the rules that govern the procedural generation. (which we've already seen in the patch)

So true. There are estimated to be 100 to 200 billion galaxies in our universe, if extrapolation proves correct.

Starting. to think you have NO IDEA what a "walking simulator" is. You keep making this reference as if it's true, but it simply isn't. I get that you have decided that the game isn't for you. (the game isn't for everybody) That's fine. But, why the false narrative? From what I've watched, the game is exactly what's been said from Hello Games. It's a survival game with discovery as it's dangling carrot. Fighting and piracy can be used to gain reso...

And...by actually admitting fault! Too often these companies, and people in general, will do everything except the obvious...which is to take responsibility and actually say the words. Of course, words without action mean nothing. IMO, the same can be true for actions without the correct words.

Some stores (or should I say employees) don't know about street dates and some simply don't care. For the mom and pop stores, it's a way to get an edge on the large retailers. Some even charge a bit more for the "risk". Sometimes, online outlets ship a bit early. (I've gotten a couple of games from Amazon a day or two before release) New games arrive at stores up to 5 days before they are put on the shelves. I've gotten copies of games at WalMart just by asking i...

Check the GDC 2015 video with the lead art director. He speaks about the colors and their connection to the planet. Hot planets use more reds, oranges, etc. Toxic planets have a lot of greens. The overall palette and look is based on sci-fi comics and books from the 70's. It's an interesting video if you have the time.

I saw a guy name some animal that looked like a jumping red blob, Trump. This was in the star system Justin Bieber, on the planet Will Smith. Consequently, there was a barren moon named Taylor Swift orbiting the planet. Lol

Giving you everything that you said, how'd that work out for them? That was the initial point. Power doesn't trump everything. It's like having a Ferrari and no gas.
Regardless of your take on sales, they DO matter...especially to devs. Sure, sales don't make the console. But, they can sure as hell break the console. Look at the Vita. By most standards it was considered the most powerful handheld. It died a gruesome death because of lack of support. Why no support? I...

So, MS is the greatest for releasing a console that might alienate part of a fanbase (the most diehard) after 3 years. But, Sony is arrogant because they chose a more modest route to try to make sure to keep their fanbase united? Okay....right.
We have very little confirmed information about Sony's new machine. We have leaked specs and an acknowledgement that it exists. That's it. If you want to crown MS with all of your "fanfare" before you know anything about pri...

This game suffered due to expectations. People thought that they were getting a new IP with a familiar gameplay style like Borderlands. Instead, they got a the humor and writing of Borderlands wrapped in a shooter that is more MOBA and less RPG. Combine that with a similar game being launched at the same time and you have a recipe for disaster. The hero, arena shooter is kind of new to consoles. So Overwatch, being more traditional as a shooter, succeeded. All that said, Battleborn is not a h...

Only issue here is that Sony had Metacritic score limits for the major PS+ games (I think it was 80 and up). Though, they could break that and do what they want.
