So...you are saying that racism is the fault of black people for not being presented correctly on TV? Hmm? That is strange saying as though there are plenty of positive black people that show up on TV everyday. Oh...and BET??? Well, let's just say that it is NOT black owned anymore. Which is why it has turned into the black bastard child of VH1 and MTV. I won't disagree with the fact that some of these shows paint African-Americans in a negative light. However, how much control do African-Ame...
I have witnesses a similar event. Except, it was the mother that came in and heard what was being said. She pretty much did the same as the father in your story. Then, she got on the mic a preceded to apologize and said that her son would be "banned" from online games until he learned how to handle himself accordingly.
It's not about THICK SKIN or CRYING all of the time. It is about being able to have a decent gaming experience without having that experience ruined by racist remarks. It's not like a grown person is sitting behind the controller crying because some idiot decides to hurl a remark (one which has probably been hurled more times than he or she can count). The fact is that it is just pathetic that ALL gamers can't have the same experience without having to mute or move from room to room to avoid ...
SLAP!!! You're a one-legged parrot!!! Feel better now!?!? *LOL*
what if...stay with me...the demand actually existed BEFORE you had an adequate supply. This Christmas season saw more PS3's sold than ever. From September until now, the Slim model has indeed been in demand. However, if Sony was not expecting this high of a demand...their supply line would be low. Add in the fact that they supposedly switched suppliers for some internal part, which would delay the supply line even further. It is pretty easy to see why their supply didn't meet demand. Could t...
That wasn't my first gaming machine (that was Intelevision), but I had the 128 D and it was my favorite by a mile. I actually just had to trash it last year because my storage area flooded and all of my stuff was ruined. But, every last game on that list was part of my gaming past. So many memories!!! It was like owning every console that was out plus adding 100's of games that would NEVER hit the consoles.
Good question!!! This might be the only time that I have seen consumers that are willing to purchase something multiple times that they have had break in the past just because it was fixed for free. That's kind of like going to a surgeon that leaves a sponge in you during your first surgery...and saying..."I'd go back to him...he made a mistake...but he fixed it for free!" Would you buy a car that you KNEW was known to break within the 1st year...just because it had a warranty? I do...
What I find funny is that people would argue that point. However, Microsoft said long ago in the original Xbox days that they weren't trying to be some new innovative force in the industry. They just wanted a piece of the gaming pie. (I believe it was in some stockholder's meeting...sure it wasn't supposed to reach us.) Either way, they have indeed gotten that piece of pie. Let's hope this gen will make them WANT to become innovative and take the lead...if only for competition's sake.
You might be needed to paste this on a daily basis...since the majority of people that claim to have a "fact" really have a clouded version of the facts or an extremely skewed opinion....which ever one suits their particular needs in the argument.
because when i went to get one for my nephew there were only 250GB in stock...and that was only 2. I actually lucked up and caught a Sears store that had 1 120GB system sitting all alone on the shelf. It has only been recently (last 2 weeks) that I have seen them return to WalMart, Target, and Best Buy...but still there aren't many.
just a short 10 years ago he was a sitcom actor!!! (Living Single) He has always done Broadway stuff...and he can actually sing...although it is more like jazz standards....here he is http://www.tccarson.com/...... really him!!!
March 9...should start arriving tomorrow!!!
have finally turned the corner on the PS3. It wasn't too long ago that every show, preview, or review was peppered with some snide remark about the PS3. I no doubt understand that it was not necessarily bias and was all in fun. However, ever since Uncharted 2 knocked the doors off of the industry...the jokes have been far and few between. The last one I heard was about the Wii.
On Topic: Seems like Sessler was riveted by GoW III. His analysis of how important pacing is to gaming was sp...
this bit of information provides hope for EVERYBODY!!!*LOL*
PS3 has great game a week for the month of March. Heavy Rain...Then BFBC2, Final Fantasy XIII, Yakuza 3, GoW III. I managed to sell some games to Amazon to get a game and a half for free (with about $45 in credit towards a future purchase). But, I am still broke. There are a LOT of PS3 gamers that have said they can only afford 1 game this month...and that was most likely GoW III! I expect BFBC2 to pick up some steam on PS3 next month...when there is less to choose from.
I defy anyone to say with honesty that the PS3 multiplats can't look better given developers that actually CARE about the outcomes. One needs to only look at the exclusives to see what is possible with some care and some hard work. Maybe it's experience. Maybe it's money or time constraints (or a combo of both). Or, maybe they are just trying to get a quick buck from one side while catering to a certain demographic. At any rate, the tides are slowly turning as more exclusives and more new cus...
Proverb by the great philosopher and orator Puff Daddy (wasn't P. Diddy when he made that song!!!) Bubs for the laugh!!!
You beat me to the punch. I was just about to inform you that the battle options, and the battles themselves, become deeper and more involved as the game progresses. I heard that it might take about 10 hours to get to the point where battles become challenging. From what I hear, it takes a bit of patience to get the best out of this game (most of the open content is at the end, the battle system is not fully realized until after the first several hours, etc).
"Reviews are NOT MEANT TO BE OPINIONS, but rather to adhere to an institutional standard that balances personal opinion with critical methodology"
The institutional standard is the body of work at hand...i.e., the games that exist within the genre. Just like music, movies, TV, etc. entertainment does not exist within a vacuum. There ARE standards, although not necessarily written or categorized, for things such as graphics, sound, presentation. What are they...other games. <...
What you are saying is that a group of "ethnic" people have conspired against white people to make them look bad? Wait...couldn't that be the case with...music, movies, television in terms of black people? Look...I am not against your right to be white and proud of it. It is just that when that freedom interferes with a black person's right to do the same...there is an issue. Nobody chose to be from another country, or race, or color. It is just what happened. Now that it has, why i...
