But you have to remember that the Xbox was relatively new hardware and the install base was nowhere NEAR the numbers that the PS2 had. Thus, companies were cutting corners. The same has been happening with the Xbox 360 having the lead in terms of install base. However, that install base gap has significantly shrunk. Yet, the PS3 still suffers the bad ports. I applaud the devs of Blur for their valiant efforts on the PS3. But, I will have to take the wait and see stance on this. There is just ...
But...what you are missing is twofold. One, if and or when ME2 or Splinter Cell come to the PS3 there will be plenty of time (probably as much as a year) for the devs to tweak and perfect the code for the PS3. Also, both ME2 and Splinter Cell have devs that are experienced in developing for the PS3...Blur...not so much. By the way...I love the FanDroidz comment...hilarious...bubs up just for that laugh!!!
IW was using this "call to arms" for some royalties as a bargaining tactic for the impending (possibly doomed now) contract. Otherwise...give us royalties or we jump ship! Which, I guess, was supposed to scare Activision into just passing over hundreds of millions of dollars that IW didn't contractually have the right too. Guess we will see the "truth" when they end up in court...which is inevitable.
Adulthood provides a LOT of perspective for any childhood fancy. The realization that a game is a gamer regardless of what it is played on (from pc to console to board to street...still a GAME). In the end, gaming is about the fun and escapism of a virtual world.
I held the DS3 controller in my hand for about 30 minutes...silently weeping and wiping away MAN tears!!!*LOL* Okay, truthfully I actually watched some basketball and got an early night for a change. Thank you Sony for forcing me to get some rest before BFBC2 and GOWIII!!!
I totally agree that people that just melted down for 24 hrs. should probably unplug for a week...just to get some perspective and balance in their lives. Oh...by the way...the HUMOUR might not have been misspelled if the person was from the UK.
whether they will rely on the same dominant 3rd party strategy for their next console. If so, will the devs be more likely to develop for the newer console (less install base) with higher development costs over the old tech (large install base) with cheaper development costs? MS will either have to provide some incentives (MONEY) for these 3rd party devs OR create or purchase more 1st party studios to support the new system.
regardless of tact or professionalism, HHG scored major points today. Not only did he get some behind the scenes footage of Kratos and Hades character designs...but scored the personal interview with Stig. Plus, you might have missed it, but Stig actually mentioned a previous HHG show...which means that Stig keeps up with the HHG show! To quote HHG..."Now that's CRAZY!!!"
person about this game. However, I have to agree with you. The environment in this video is excellent. The sound design is top notch...might be the best I have heard. But, the actual rain (weather) effects were not that great. This doesn't impact my excitement or even abate my need to play this game. IMO, the weather was not as impressive as the description under the title made it out to be.
the hostess clubs and the Japanese history quiz game can't really count for half of the game. As long as the story and fight mechanics remain intact...count me in. Change THOSE, and I would be full of fire.
It's not that hostesses can't be classy or intelligent. It's just a cultural thing. They are frowned upon by Japanese society, usually the elders. However, the tradition goes back to the geisha who were actually trained from childhood to serve men of power. (that was actually prestigious at the time) I think it is just considered a "water trade" because of the combination of women Japanese women becoming more independent and career minded and the fact that there are more seedy hoste...
the FPS genre has become what the platformer was to the last generation. It is the go-to when devs thing that they are going after the core audience. I still play them. But, more and more they don't really have that lasting effect. Guess I'm just getting FPS'd out. Oh well, that didn't stop me from pre-ordering BFBC2!*LOL*
here's why...
5. Though HOME is still in beta...it provides a nice revenue steam for Sony to do whatever they want with. It is a project and not a game...therefore it will take much longer to get to the finality that we were waiting for...plus it is purely an OPTION!
4. If there is STILL a steady demand for PS2...why stop selling it. It was selling over 100,000 units a month worldwide...in it's 10th year...more revenue.
3. BC is still available on early consoles...which you ...
a beat 'em up....or brawler. However, the fighting system is deeply customizable. It is only like GTA in the sense that it is a kind of "open world" or sandbox style game with several mini-games like golf, darts, karaoke, fishing, arcade games, etc. scattered throughout the world. Plus, it has the 100+ side quests that extend and flesh out the plot of the game. It is not for everyone. Those that don't appreciate or for some reason can't relate to Japanese culture will struggle to en...
I would die to see Colony Wars in it's full next gen glory!!! Man I loved that game. I still play it on the psp from time to time!!!
Let's not forget the 4 bunker "spread" on the Domination maps. I would suggest that all of these so-called "superior" SVER players spend some time with the other factions' weapons and then say the same thing. *L* Once they balance those weapons, it should get a bit easier to charge those maps in a more balanced (fair) manner and actually feel some success.
to push some consoles in Europe and Japan since this type of racing is far more popular in those regions. There are gamers that buy consoles specifically for this game. Although, in Europe you might want to add the newest FIFA or PES to that. Either way, some consoles with shift with it's release. As you stated, I'm interested to see how many.
I think that was a design decision. It's stereotypical, but nonetheless the long haired, model look would be a bit more difficult to take seriously. Plus, the "intense" nude scene would be rendered useless as people would be clamoring to see her naked...wait...they probably still are!*LOL*
While I can see the characters as aesthetically pleasing. I still don't get any arousal from them. They ARE digital for goodness sake. I guess it is all perspective.
As far as the Japanese virus...I won't be too worried until we get vending machines that sell dirty undergarments!!!*LOL*
Contrary to your assertion that 2k10 is the better game, I must disagree. First let me state...I have not stock in Sony or Take Two. I appreciate the need for freshness in a sports experience. I actually LIKE the pitcher and batter interface of the 2k series (which was refined this year). However, baseball is a game that requires other elements besides batting and pitching. This is where 2K fails and MLB 10 shines. The fielding aspect of 2k is STILL broken. Stiff animations cause some dumb pl...
