kept me into GTAIV was the story. The rest was kind of a gimping of the various activities that were present in previous GTA games...especially Vice City and San Andreas. That being said...this wild west twist could provide a great template for a storyline. Guess I'll be waiting until tomorrow to find out!!!
Heavenly Sword...or Chocolate Rain....or...I know...Chubby Rain!!!*LOL* Either way...forgettable is NOT the way I would ever describe the gameplay in Heavy Rain. The best I would give you is...just not into it!
Hey...let's be honest!!! I'd pimp my mom out for some exclusive access. But, that's not saying a lot cuz I'd pimp my mom out for a ham sandwich too!!!*LOL* j/k mom...maybe a turkey sandwich with extra mayo!!!*LOL*
How does one force somebody to part with $300 without a gun!?!?*LOL* Seriously, do you think this is some insidious plot by the Man at Sony? It's pretty simple. The Slim design drove up demand. Supply was good, but new model changed the factory line a bit. Supply dwindled as orders kept coming. Old systems would eventually be replaced by new units that are now driving profit as opposed to losses. Good business...despite the fact that consumers are left waiting a bit longer than they migh...
If that's your thing. Tecmo Bowl was awesome for it's time. However, having played it, I don't think that it aged very well in terms of mechanics. It is still fun. But, there is just something missing. That being said, I think that any other license would limit the game's appeal. How many people are paying attention to the AFL? Not many...especially considering that they lost so many teams in the reconstitution of the league. Canadian football is cool...but once again...only t...
the other night on a live stream rescue a "damsel in distress" only to hogtie her...take her down to the train tracks...drop her on said tracks...and wait for the train to run her over! Very funny stuff. Open world games are fun because they are OPEN. This allows you to creatively just play with the world.
MLS is only a joke to those that don't understand it's brand. No, they can't hold a candle to major leagues around the world. But, they are barely over 15 years old. In comparison, there are European and Latin clubs whose lineage can be tracked back as far as the late 1800's! MLS, and America in general, is playing catch-up in the world sport of football (soccer).
I can tell you without doubt that baseball is the sport over there. They are as zealous with their baseball support as Euro soccer fans...minus the hooligans!*L* However, soccer is probably the most popular rising sport. For the last 8 years, their national team has done exceedingly well in the World Cups. World Cup success seems to tie directly to the uptake of the sport domestically.
actually had a receipt of his RDR purchase as his background while he steamed. He only lasted roughly 20 min. before he was shut down. Rockstar was on the hunt last night on streaming sites.
He is one of the fortunate people to be able to afford more than one console!!! I watched stream after stream being shut down last night on Justin TV! It was pretty funny because one guy tried to hide the title that he was playing under Barbies Horse Adventures!*LOL* Only problem was that there were over 700 viewers!
Basing this off of other media...when is the last time that a true western movie was made. I'm not talking Broke Back...but more like 3:10 to Yuma (2007) which was probably overlooked. The horror genre has it's reboots (for better or worse), action flicks are a dime a dozen, superhero movies are all the rage, but Westerns have become somewhat of a ghost town.
I have a tendency to do that with ALL of my open world games. Sometimes even before I touch any specific goals I will just walk, drive, fly, or whatever method of ambulation is supplied and explore the world. I love to see the little details and the interaction of NPC's in the world. GTA was always great for this, so I am assuming that RDR will just add to this pleasure!
The repetition comes from the mechanism of the game, for sure. However, they have talked about so many modes aside from just the Split/Second schtick. Seems like there will be and 12 episodes (guessing that each episode represents a certain style of race per track it looks like 6 is the magic number) Looks like 72 total races for completion. Plus, I think there will be some strategy involved in the way you deploy your major and minor triggers. That being said, I don't have the money for i...
I was amped up for Tuesday when I first heard that they were making this! But, I feel you. This might just complete my desire to play a Unforgiven, Magnificent Seven, Tombstone, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, style game! Then again, can any game live up to those movies? Guess we'll see on Tuesday!!!
That's one of the negative things about this gen for me. EVERYBODY is a critic. The littlest details will actually PREVENT people from buying a game that they were super-hyped for just before reading 1 review! Some reviewers seem to have NO MEMORY of a time when games were just...dare I say it...for FUN! Instead, they nit-pick the minutia and turn it into a game-breaking or score-breaking flaw. I really don't care so much about the scores...but the over-indulgent criticism is ridiculo...
according to several earlier articles, from those that have demoed the actual game, the AI is no longer perfect. They don't take perfect lines anymore. They actually run off the road. I witnessed this in a couple of races on GT for PSP, so I am assuming that this was one of the bullet points to attack when they were designing the game. There are videos that show the AI going wide in turns, but I haven't seen the off track penalty emphasized yet.
Because only a person that hasn't would put it as JUST adventure. Heavy Rain is so much more. It is a great amalgamation of genres. Although it does have some adventure elements to it...it is hard to say it is JUST adventure. I would agree that the pure adventure genre has disappeared. For me, it is sad because those were the first games (aside from RPG) that I ever played and loved.
that this was the most coherent and complete opinion article that I have ever read from Kotaku...then I saw that it was a republished article from somebody writing a thesis on video games!
@Thug...I haven't either. Really didn't too much on MW2...although I'll admit that I only played about 20 hours online in that. Oh...and I'm not sure why either!!! Interesting nonetheless!
Am I to understand that "greed" is the mechanism behind capitalism? I just wouldn't go so far as to say this is a socialist driven with hunt. I WOULD say that it could possibly be the first step down a slippery slope. I am NOT against making money...or the companies right to make money. I agree that when I make a purchase I should be fully aware and culpable. I just have issues with the control that this will provide the industry in terms of limiting the product value post-purch...
I usually complete these open world games on a pick up and play basis. Sometimes, I'll play just for the mechanics of shooting and causing chaos. Then, sometimes I actually try to advance the story. This leads to unfinished games at times (like GTA IV). But, no less fun in the process. I don't see myself finishing Just Cause 2 for quite a while because of this. RDR might be in the same boat. Especially with the fact that there is an online component!
