I'm over 35 and I agree somewhat with what you are saying. You should get the right to complain about substandard products. That's for sure. You have the right to spend your money on the "best" there is. Entitled can be a good thing in those instances. That being said, there are some entitled gamers...just as there are some entitled people.
I don't do generalizations. So, I wouldn't label ALL gamers anything more than gamers. I would just say that some peopl...
Wow..first time I remember seeing him was Pulp Fiction. Then, he had the stint on Madtv. I knew he went on to do voice over work for some cartoons. But, I had no idea that he went to games. Good to see him again!!!
Procedural does NOT equal random. Hello Games had to put in rules on top of the algorithm in order to get some order out of the generation. It's an interesting way of creating the visuals for the game. Where you might see nothing "special", others are excited by the idea that procedural generation created some of the beautiful landscapes that we've seen. Not all of them are breathtaking. But, every so often, you get one that really does look like someone took time to meticul...
It's also a product of the AD/HD, instant gratification generation. Shorter experiences and bite-sized gaming... gratuitous MP unlocks and "rewards"...all set to create the illusion of "winning". Then, you join a new lobby and start over again.
NMS is the antithesis of that idea. It's slower and plodding with no guiding narrative. There's no A to B objectives and the lore is unveiled through constant discovery. It's a direct affront to those that ...
The point of PS Now isn't BC (playing on current hardware...though it does help when there's no other way at this point). The point of PS Now is to attempt to expand PS games beyond the traditional PS platforms. They want gamers to be able to access PS Now's library on smartphones, tablets, TV's, and set top boxes. Not just gaming platforms. The issue is that some find it too expensive to rent/own games and there is latency. As a game rental service, it has potential (especial...
YOU ARE "OLD FASHIONED"...but I agree!!! 😄
If you find the right places, and the right resources, that really becomes less of a problem. Plus, that's kind of the idea. If you had tons of inventory slots right up front, it would be way to easy to survive...especially in the high risk scenarios. (which, at least I hear, was the pacing part of the patch)
As long as people keep buying them. Somehow, they escape the massive criticism of other games in the same genre.
Seems like you spawned in a more hostile star system. Or, you been messin' with the wrong people!!! 😄
IMO, it's the art, the music, the scope, the ambition, and the vision that I admire. Just the fact that the algorithm can procedurally produce, at times, some of the most stunning, surrealistic vistas in a game would have been enough.
"Let joy be in your journey-not in some distant goal."
THIS is the point of this game. The joy is in the discovery. The joy is in the exploration of a universe, which provides the spark for questions about our own. The joy is in learning the tale of what happened to the ancient civilizations that left the clues on the scattered monoliths. So, though the goal is to get to the center of the universe, the joy truly is in the journey.
Have sex WHILE playing Pokemon Go!!! 😄
Try that in our galaxy alone and see where that gets you. In NMS the planets seem to change a lot as you move from one side of the universe to another and from star system to star system.
You don't HAVE to see them all. But, you won't really know what you're missing if you do. It's really a difficult game when it comes to saying something IS or isn't there. You have 18 quintillion planets to cover before you can say that with any certainty.
It means that it's popular. It means that there's the UT mode that people love. Sales don't automatically mean better. CoD has probably outsold most games over the last 10 years, but that doesn't make it the best series in the last 10 years. It DOES, however, make it a popular choice. I won't know which game is better until I get my hands on a demo. I used to by them both when they had staggered launches. But, aince they started to release at the same time, I chose based o...
Yep. The way the planets look and their atmospheres are determined, in the algorithm, by their distance from the nearest star and will share some similar features. However, there's still a fair bit of diversity even in specific star systems.
There are people that hate games for no other reason than that they are popular! Those games included. (think they call them hipsters now...but they've always just been haters. 😄)
Every game is repetitive. The real issue is how much you enjoy the repetition.
😄
Acquiring ManU doesn't mean anything IF the gameplay doesn't compete. (Not saying that it won't). While having the licenses is a slight bonus, it really only adds to the atmosphere. However, if the gameplay is not solid, you'll have some nice looking teams that perform like crap when it counts...the gameplay. Wrapping a turd in a candy bar package doesn't make it a candy bar. Not to mention, option files allow you to have any uni's you want on PES. (don't know if t...
Yeah...no. I don't know if you are trying to use hyperbole for effect but "they are no different than the Klan" is just flat out wrong. The Klan is built on the notion of white supremacy...i.e., if you are not white you are less than human. They blew up churches, lynched, burned, maimed, tortured, and shot thousands and thousands of black people mist because of the color of their skin. They killed hundreds of white people for sympathizing with black people.
BLM is not ...
