Xbox Live has also been around for over 8 years longer than PS+. Not saying that Live isn't better. But, subscriber numbers wouldn't be the best way to tell which is better.
One has nothing to do with the other, unless you just want any console. If you are THAT person, then you are probably a more mass consumer and wouldn't pony up the cash for either. As it stands, the Pro is a decent enough upgrade for the core Sony fan. The Scorpio is a significant boost for the core Xbox fan. Basically, these appeal to the core...which is a small percentage of the overall sales. The slims will be dueling it out for the mass market. It's there that MS might take a lead...
That depends on the individual PC...and thus renders it a subjective opinion. If you are talking about games in general...still an opinion. If you are talking about availability and access to games...now you start to have a point.
The basic point is that you can build a pc and STILL have access to whatever Xbox games become available (which seems to be at least the high profile titles). However, in order to play new Playstation titles you at least have to buy a PS4. All the consoles have a place. But, MS seems to be lessening the need to buy into the hardware side of the Xbox ecosystem.
This!!! 😀
The problem with that idea is that they must have been enjoying the "lie" before they were told. 50 hrs. is way too long. If it weren't for the crashing, freezing, and corrupt data issues, I'd say no to any refunds. Tedium doesn't deserve a refund. There's a fully functional game there. People just didn't like what it turned out to be. That's the risk we take with every single game we buy.
Edit: @SkolarVisari...They found out within the fi...
Ahhh porn...the gateway to the masses! I'm just waiting for the first article of the kid that gets walked in on. Aaaawkward! 😄
I'd say 5 hours max. Anything else and you'd be close to finishing the average single-player narrative which is 8-10 hours. If you don't quit in that time, then it's entertained you enough to have paid for it.
This article perfectly sums up how I feel. NMS was always a gamble at best. Even with all of the "issues", there is wnough of a foundation to play an entire game. Actually, the foundation IS the very experience that was promised. There were obvious messaging issues with content. But, the game still functioned like it was meant to. It just became a more basic version. The idea that you can play something that you aren't enjoying for 50 hrs., in itself, is ridiculous. The ONLY sav...
No. It simply means that people don't agree with that statement. It IS an opinion, and thus is up for scrutiny. Sure, there are some disagree trolls. But, it's more likely that they just don't see it the way that you see it. Plus, this is N4G...you can get a disagree for a FACT.
Freedom of choice goes both ways. People can choose to agree...and to disagree. With no bubble system anymore, it shouldn't matter. No one gets a prize for the best agree/disagree ratio. The b...
This is not the first time or the last time that people will be "lied" to. It just so happens that NMS got hyped beyond all imagination...from all angles. Devs frequently cut content, play set pieces that aren't completely representative of the full gameplay experience, and even misrepresent their games. That's kind of what PR and marketing are designed to do. How often have you seen a commercial for food at a restaurant and then got it and it didn't look close to what i...
They'd pretty much have to close. Wasn't it only about 10 people anyway?
Excellent and thorough review. I think you hit on the NMS Paradox (beautiful and enchanting, yet dull and lifeless) very well. I find that using this game in short (hour or two) bursts is much better than binge playing. It is really one of the strangest games in terms of the lure of the game. I enjoy it...and actually miss playing it at times. Yet, I am fully aware that it is just stringing me along. But, it's not a forced ride..it's pretty much NMS n' chill.
I guess, in a way, he was correct about some of what he said. Violence IS more pervasive on TV. Games are more realistic and that could cause perception issues with children. If I had young children, I'd be sure to keep them away from age inappropriate content as well.
That being said, there is still no proof that videogames have a direct effect on violence. Education and communication is more important when dealing with violent content and children, imo, then the practice of av...
American idiots??? 😀
Simple-minded people use hatred, racism, and religion as an excuse for violence.
Take that even further back and Beethoven was considered violent by some classical critics. Society, as a whole, really likes to look outwardly for answers that often point directly at the members individually.
I believe him. Games could be $40 and sell more. BUT, companies have figured out that there is a point of diminishing returns with this. There's only so much interest for a given game. (aside from surprise hits) So, they maximize profits on the day one people and still make gains on those that wait a month when the price drops to $40. It's not a coincidence that, when a game slows momentum, all of a sudden it's now a $40 title. The ones that you don't see have permanent price ...
Actually, it's likely that it does. Whatever you do it is likely that whoever had that job 20 years ago made less. But, I get the sentiment behind your words. In the end, I think that $60 up front seems to be that point where games move well enough initially to maximize profits. Then, about 2 months later, there's still money to be made when prices dip to $40.
I'm right there with you. If you are old, then I'm ancient!!! I remember looking at pictures of all the release games for the Playstation and thinking "how in the hell am I gonna afford all of those AND books...for college!" It was the first system that I spent my own hard earned cash on. Sure, I sacrificed a text book or two and a cheap date or 5 (😄). But, it was well worth the struggle.
