The point is that it's an options for people to slightly tweak the way their games are played in the middle of a generation. That's it. You don't like the option? Don't buy it. This was never meant to be some revolutionary leap in tech. In reality, this is probably close to what they wanted to offer in the launch PS4, but it was price prohibitive at the time. They kept it affordable, made it a bit stronger, and managed to squeeze in the ability to achieve 4K. Devs have flexibi...

Yes, people are generally irresponsible with their money. But, that has nothing to do with wanting this. If you have a capable TV, are a PS fan, and want a high fidelity experience, this is the machine for you. At this point, it's the only option for this, as Scorpio is still a ways off. Plus, it will cost the same as the PS4 did at launch. Which, imo, makes it an attractive option for holiday shoppers that will be thinking about new TV and gaming options.

I'm with you. All of the parsing of words and "flops" and P's loses the idea that most of us couldn't tell the difference if it weren't for sites like Digital Foundry or pixel counting. Don't get me wrong, I love those articles. But, not for the counts and frames. I like to hear how the devs tackled the problems. What techniques did they use? How did that effect the outcome? (Not that I understand it all. But, it's interesting to me.)

As long as they stick with the architecture of the PS4, which is likely, they won't have the same problems with BC as they had with the PS3. So, "starting over" becomes a non-issue. New games will be made for the new console, just like new games would be made for upgraded hardware. Controllers will advance and change so, at some point, most of us would be upgrading to those anyway. Especially if there are new features on it that games would take advantage of. All in all, whatev...

The idea behind the use of the term "ungrateful" isn't aimed at the quality of the product, it's aimed at the mere existence of the product. The article is just pointing out that we've been so spoiled by the amount of amazing technology that we tend to nitpick them apart as opposed to appreciating the wonders of the product.
IMO, it's cool if you are disappointed. It's cool if this technology isn't something that you're interested in. But, there...

I was thinking that as I watched..."where have I seen this before?" Not that it's a problem. I've seen commercials for many products that borrow ideas and concepts and think the same thing.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with his comment. (though I don't agree with it) Was it insensitive? Probably. But, it was (I assume) his opinion. The beautiful thing about free speech is that it allows people to prove who they really are so that there are no doubts. So, unless he truly didn't believe what he said or was doing it for sensationalism, he shouldn't have to apologize. He SHOULD have to live with the words that he gave life to and the consequences that come with t...

This goes down, to me, as one of the best soundtracks in a game. My other favorite would be GTA Vice City.
But the Mafia III tracks have some very popular tracks combined with tracks that were popular, but have fallen by the wayside in remembering them. It makes for a cool musical snapshot of the times.

Makes me wonder what "classic radio" will be like in 20 years. It's bad enough that the 90's are slipping in. (just reminding me that I am old) I ...

Or, they've just been waiting forever for the next game in the series!? Just a thought.

Who? Bro, Bro, or Dude? I mean, if your asking, I'll take it. 😁
Seriously, I feel the same...and I have no money. But, I have plenty of time.

Most of us are too young, but that was a cover of Monkees song from 1966...written by Neil Diamond. But, Smashmouth did a good job with bringing it back for sure.

@Muzikguy...me too. Been doing a Spotify playlist of covers that I enjoy. Disturbed surprisingly does a lot of them, and ones that you wouldn't quite expect. Two of my favorites are Prince's covers of Radiohead's Creep (think it was live at Coachella) and, of course, his Rock N Roll induction ceremony...

I'm well aware...I used it very loosely. Lol Besides, I do have a gaming woman that actually enjoys the game as well. But, I don't think games put her in the mood to...um...chill. Lol

I recall some rumors about a graduation year and possibly connecting to starting college. But, that was a long, long time ago.

Unfortunately, a LOT of people didn't find out or try it until it was at extremely reduced prices or free. Then, they tried the online PC only Triad thing...which just seemed like an aimless Sleeping Dogs. I hate it, because SD was a damn good game and deserved better. Hope it gets passed along for a sequel.

This explains the intrigue that I still have with this game. On a purely technical level, I remain amazed with NMS. Just thinking about how a chaotic mix of random parts ultimately drives what we see. Sure, some of what we see is meh at best. However, I've seen planets that rival some of the best still images that I've seen in sci-fi posters, book covers, and comics. That moment is special. It's not a game that I play for hours on end. But, I'll NMS and chill for a couple hour...

They were always pretty "cool", but many of the games for them weren't! They stopped getting creative and just raced to cash in...and the market responded. Now, with VR (as you highlighted), it becomes a very natural way to control games. Now, we wait for the new generation of power gloves!!!

And before the Play Anywhere initiative where did you HAVE to play Halo, Fears, Fable, Forza, etc.? People don't JUST look at consoles as "easy to use", otherwise ANY console would do. Core gamers choose consoles based on the games and franchises that they grew up playing. Many of which are exclusives.
Your idea about Sony not seeing PC as prosperous enough is also silly. Sony just chooses a different route to keeping people engaged in it's ecosystem. MS focuses on...

That was one of the biggest demands from many players of the previous Mafia games. They created a large beautiful world, but restricted access to it. The problem with Mafia 3 isn't that it's open-world. The problem is that the devs didn't get creative enough with the exploration of the open world and, instead, stuck to the "similar side mission" trope of many open world games. Had they added more variety in side mission, it wouldn't feel so repetitive. As is, I'm...
