@Moldybread - Well, on the one hand, I'd say the hype for TLG game did die *some*, but obviously not to the same degree as Rime. But on the other, TLG has a developer with a pedigree of releasing games after protracted development that turn out to be some of the generations best experiences. Rime has a solid developer no doubt, but the only project Tequila Works has released to this point is Deadlight back in 2012. Not to mention Tequila Works sounded as though they suffered employee/infr...

@Barricade Mouth-to-mouth advertising??? I've only found out about things through word-of-mouth advertising...I've been getting jipped! :-p

You don't wish to silence hate speech? Free speech doesn't give you the right to be a hateful asshole, it literally is in place so that the government can't silence you for no reason. And I think talking about it and bringing attention to it can be powerful on its own. If for no other reason than for those being singled out that they know there are people that support them out there, and not let the sole voice being heard be one of hate.

I mean, as far as hate s...

I've experienced both - in my one room with enough space for me to be far enough away for the whole image to be in my field of view, it is a comfortable experience. I have also set it up in a room where I'm closer to the screen than and it makes me have to move my eyes and head too much for that to be a great experience. So I can see it from both sides, but when I have it set up properly I prefer it over gaming on my 42" TV. As it is with everything, to each their own :-D

Word of caution about the projectors listed in this article to those considering them - the sub $100 options *say* 1080p, but that is SUPPORTED resolution. The actual native resolution of those projectors are about 800x480 and they scale the 1080p image to that resolution - it looks exactly like you'd imagine they do. These also claim far higher lumens than they actually are, which means they are only suitable for super dark environments.

Those kind of projectors are fi...

I heard it started out as pretty much garbage, but a friend got me into it after Reaper of Souls launched. I've had quite a bit of fun with it since then, though I can understand if you don't like the "seasons" aspect of loot, grind and push leaderboards that you would not like this game. Have you played it since the expansion and all of the updates? I also know that this game isn't exactly like the Diablo's that came before it, so I get being disappointed with it fr...

If those 11 people don't agree with his opinion though, isn't that what the button is for? I've always viewed it as an agree/disagree button.

It isn't a fact/fiction button. Obviously there are trolls and obviously people can abuse the downvote button on very sensible comments (and even factually accurate comments). But I think people can get way too worked up about the up/down vote tallies. The meaningful part is if someone actually responds and what that i...

It's not that people don't like a buy once upfront model. I prefer that myself, but I don't find $10 for that game a good value. Partially due to the fact that the only part of the game they let you try ended up lasting about 4 minutes and felt pretty boring with Mario jumping half the things on screen on his own, but also because if you look at the mobile landscape $10 is a lot.

Most top tier games in the mobile category are $4.99-$6.99. If it were a true Mario...

Haven't looked into this much, but it sounds like this should just be released as a patch or a $10 upgrade/DLC kind of thing rather than a full price retail relaunch. Never a fan of that kind of move.

I'd even go so far as to say Sony's failing was down to development philosophy (perhaps even more so than the memory card prices, which was an absolute facepalm of a blunder).

Nintendo's saving grace was their approach to making handheld games, though their overfull warchest certainly helped too. If you remember when the 3DS launched it was struggling. For a bit, the Vita appeared to be the sure victor. Then the Big N initiated a massive price drop to get it goi...

@nitus10 That isn't pay to win. He isn't paying to complete the levels, he's just suggesting the purchase price be broken up differently. More free levels to whet the appetite, then try to go for that $10 but by breaking up the current levels into two $5 packs. I don't think that would have solved any problems though. Game shouldn't cost more than $5. Most really premium games on mobile top out at $6.99 (most, not all). So many good games for $7 and less, with far more con...

I'm not saying your wrong because my time with it has been very limited, but do you really find that this is a game with depth? It auto-jumps a ton of stuff, which seems so antithetical to any autorunner, much less a Mario game. It really sucked some of the fun out of it immediately when the game explained that to me. EDIT: I've also just read the World Tour content last about an hour and then everything essentially is challenge coins and recycled levels. That makes the price tag that...

Microtransactions vs One-Time-Payment: like any game on any platform, it comes down to value. You can get incredible games on mobile these days, "premium" titles that mostly cost around $7 or less. Very rarely are they more than that, and those games have to really prove their value. This game is not worth $10, and that's pretty much the issue here. No, we don't want microtransactions but the buy-in needs to be fair as well.

Side note: I can't believe...

Given consoles are inherently coded more "to the metal" - which is essentially what Vulkan is bringing to PC's - it likely won't end up being a factor for PS4, or consoles in general.

I'm not exactly undone by their comments, but I am put off by them. If someone wants to call out a section of the gaming community as being entitled bigots, absolutely. Go ahead, because to deny that portion exists is impossible - I'd go so far as to say a lot of people in general these days are entitled bigots. BUT...

But the conversation started about gamers. Just gamers. And all comments that followed just discussed gamers. If the opening tweet was "And the ...

I don't get it. One starts at 85 seconds, the other starts at 112. You have to start the trailers at different times to "sync" them up...which doesn't feel like a Kojima thing. Also the baby doesn't seem to disappear in the Norman Reedus trailer insofar as the baby has little bloody handprints going down his leg after...turning invisible? In the DelToro trailer it appears the baby is there the whole time and the light just illuminates it for us. If that is the only thing...

When Mario can have a video like this: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

It's not wise to bring up number of any games in a series if coming from the Nintendo camp. Also weird to say "2 or 3 for the Vita"...Google can help you out there. Not that it should matter. A good game is a good game. If Nintendo had more faith in its fans to sell many of these different "Mario" games in di...

Given that their last mobile dev (WarCell) made Smash Squad which got shut down & the devs doors closed only months later, I'm not holding my breath anything will come of this.

Yea that's the way that title rendered in the title card for me too lol. 1st line: "Hideo Kojima's Death" I was like "whaaaatttt?" then immediately went "oh right, his new game...Stranding better be in the next line". Thankfully it was lol.

Interestingly, the rumor is that it is using some form of the Guerilla Games engine: https://goo.gl/YYMSdc

Kind of wish it was using The Order 1886's engine though. Both stunning engines for sure, but I feel for as good as 1886 looked it is criminal that isn't being used more. Perhaps it isn't adaptable to a more open world approach.
