But honestly, not that big a deal to me. I only really want them for PSN titles (and a couple disc based ones), but I tend to like the game music. I like film scores and the like, and the music in games like Uncharted, MGS4 and so on are quite good and I don't feel the need to play my own music.

As for the article, I haven't messed around with music and profiles while surfing the web or looking at photos. This isn't, however, a problem for me in that I don't use those featur...

I do not want custom firmware that would allow you to back-up and play PS3 games. I do, however, like the idea of CFW that would allow you to play classics like NES and Genesis games, support homebrew apps, and so on.

I mean look at the PSP market - you can't deny it is in, if nothing else, an interesting and precarious position. Hardware sales are through the roof, but software sales aren't catching up proportionately...at all. I like the PSP and want good content to keep com...

Because 80 GB models had BC, just like 85-90% or something. A more appropriate title would be "Improved Backwards Compatibility?" I definitely know they do little updates here and there to improve compatibility with all titles, PS2 included.

In any event, if they got any model (besides the 60 GB of course) to hit 100% BC than they wouldn't keep that under the radar. Considering the overall negativity people had with Sony's decision to reduce/remove BC, you can bet th...

That's quite a pedigree they have there. If they can cull the best parts from each game, make them strong/polished, integrate them all seamlessly while innovating slightly as to not have a case of the "feels to same-y" then they would have a massive success on their hands. Tall order? Yes, but all the greatest games are. I will be keeping an eye on this one too.

It really seems like a win for anyone with a current gen system. They will each probably have a few surprises, a few games to blow us away, and (unfortunately) some gloating in some specific arena where they are dominating/innovating/leading #'s. It's amazing that everything turns into a competition these days. I know it sounds cliche, pie-in-the-sky, "why cant we be friends"-y, but we should all really just sit back and enjoy E3 for the new things coming our way that will enhanc...

Did I really somehow miss that this whole time? I'm glad they keep doing these little things to improve the experience, though they really need to start coming out with a comprehensive list of what these updates do/change/implement/improve so people don't miss these sweet little upgrades. Thanks Sony, I really am loving the PS3 more and more with each firmware update.

If you're saying too bad it's on the PSP vs. being on the PS3 I agree. Otherwise I don't see a problem with it. PSP needs some strong software to keep it going, and if it does well enough, it might be ported over to PS2 for some full screen action.

I was also wondering if Sony would start to put Trophies in PSP games. Sync up through USB or Wi-Fi to your PS3 to add an extra level of interactivity between the PSP and PS3 and do something a little extra that neither of the com...

The one thing that makes me think that it would happen is that Microsoft offers Xbox Originals and I think Sony would have it in mind to offer the same (PS2 Originals if you will). Halo clocked in at something like 2 GB, so they show that size isn't necessarily a constraint. I think it could be in the works, but something tells me this image is probably fake. PSOne games have the download size in parentheses under the name and price, where these PS2 games don't. It's a small thing, but it...

Seeing as how they can make all PSOne games playable through Remote Play, I think they should just implement the ability to play all PS2 games to play through it as well and add a disclaimer saying that it "wasn't originally intended for this use and your experience may vary" or something.

Clearly not every game would work well (as not all PSOne games do), but just give us the option to figure out which ones would work or let us struggle with the controls if we want. ...

I see it now.

Fanboy 1: "God, Verizon is so gay. The internal chipset in the Xphone is a cheaply made Taiwanese knockoff that'll ring out on you in seconds! Can you hear me now? NO!! HAHAHHAHA!"

Fanboy 2: "Yeah right. The technology behind GSM is balls. You couldn't get even a single bar if you were standing right next to the tower! Metacritic ranks our coverage as a 92, while yours sits at a paltry 89! God, I would probably kill myself if I h...

then I would be excited. I have heard far too much about this possibility for a long time with nothing concrete backing it up other than Sony going "yeah, we think there is a possiblity and market for that". As soon as I get a Sony spokesperson saying, "Look out, the PSPhone heading your way this Spring!" or whatever, I will be there checking it out and dropping the cash for one just like the rest of you (assuming they can execute this well; always standoff-ish about marr...

I can't imagine this is going to happen, but why not just make everyone happy and "improve" the video playback to include a certain file type (cough..DivX) that everyone is just hoping for? You'd gain a lot of appreciation for such a move.

I definitely saw this as a love it or hate it affair. I think I'm getting a bit put out on guitar games for now that this slightly watered down version would probably not hold my attention for very long. I'm not saying it's a failure by any stretch, in fact I think it looks as though the conversion was very well done and it's about as good as Guitar Hero on the go could be (shy of the gimmiky feeling controls like shouting "rock out" for star power or whatever it is you say). <...

First of all I think it's a bit funny that the PSP (which they say has many of the features of the iPhone/Touch) has an identity crisis, when the iPhone/Touch decides more than a year after launch to add gaming capability and that is seen as a perfect fit and marrying of features. It just seems a bit of a weak and one sided argument. PSP is a gaming machine first, and everything else second. The iPhone/Touch is everything else first, gaming second.

That aside, I don't think ei...

However, the only real question/concern I have is if this new guitar will make the old guitar obsolete and the current PS3/XBOX 360 guitars will not be compatible. I haven't seen or heard anything about hardware compatibility.

All I can say is if the current guitars aren't supported than they definitely lost my business (unless they can do a REALLY reasonable bundle, but I really don't see that happening). I don't think I'm the only one either.

I'm very happy w...

I mean, with her line of thinking apparently video games are great training (under my guidance the Orioles have the best record in baseball, so I must be GOD like - watch out Jeter). The line "where could they get this training...could it have been with a controller" is quite rich. Yes, I'm sure when they picked up their firearm, they were intimately familiar with how to aim and load it, deal with the recoil, and so on because a piece of plastic with analogue sticks is a really gr...

and John Mayer. I've also got a decent Acoustic, but Rock Band and Guitar Hero are still fun.

Slightly off topic, I was just wondering if anyone else was having problems with Guitar Hero III's guitar on PS3 vs. the PS2 one. I hit most of my notes just strumming straight down and I feel like if I try and hit more than 3 notes in a row strumming straight down on the PS3 guitar it will not recognize the strum. It will notice it more, however, if I strum up and down. This was not ...

Bundles generally used to come with a savings attached. Now it's just the same price with a new colored console/portable. It doesn't really help to attract any new buyers and it keeps people who don't want the game, but would like that color, from having to wait months before it is available standalone, if at all. It just seems like a stupid practice to me, that's all.
